I paused on ep 5 because I had to take a break from the cliches and annoying FL. Then started again with ep 6 only to find it even more cringey with lots of overacting and stupid decisions. I don’t drop a show until I watch half the series so I will try two more episodes. Hopefully the romance will pick up otherwise there’s not much going for this show other than the ML’s visuals.
I LOVE LUO MING XI and the subtleties in his interaction with Anle
Yes! LMX is a compelling character and we can sense the feelings he has for Anle which he keeps under a controlled facade. Even though he seems cool about it, I love the undercurrent of jealousy lol
Yes you’re right, I think we will see more when that happens. But I meant the kind of chemistry that makes you want them to be a couple even if they are not one yet or even ever. For example the chemistry between Reba and YY in You Are My Glory, or between Reba and Bin Bin in Pretty Li Hui Zhen. Gong Jun and Zhou Yu Tong to me had more chemistry in Begin Again. And of course GJ and ZZH in WOH.
Caught up to ep 9 and what draws me in the most is the portrayal of the main female characters. I like how smart and strong they are, including the woman behind the main antagonist.
I am really enjoying Dilreba's character although it's hard not to cringe when she dumbs herself down ;D
Dilreba and Gong Jun look good together but I am not seeing the sparks yet. Gong Jun as the CP is kind of stiff so it's a little hard to believe when Anle starts showing real signs of being enamored by him. I am sure I will see more chemistry later on. For now, Liu Yu Ning is attracting my attention more. That guy is just so talented!
Those who read the novel, can you please spoil the ending for me? There is a light tone threading through these first few episodes but I get a sad vibe from the opening/ending scenes.

Ah sweet romance, Allen Ren style 😁 I never hope to see a kiss in his dramas but I certainly enjoy how his characters so naturally progress with the FLs.
