Yeah, most of us suspected that WJG's feelings for MX were never that deep. He really is quite useless! I am not expecting them to both stay unattached but I am so annoyed by WJG's reaction when finding out that MX was alive. He was more concerned about FY hugging him. I did not watch ep 37 preview but it was still about that wishy-washy couple, then I don't need to waste my time. I hope that you're right and all these irritating scenes with FY and WJG are just a cover for CWD being alive.

Same here. Like I commented, I did a massive eye-roll about the shallowness of WJG's character. FY at least did sort of like him a bit from before but still...WJG's reason is that after spending all that time together, they are expected to develop feelings for each other...oh really???

I think they are staying together because of the imperial edict and also WJG's family. Ep 36 preview shows that WJG has probably moved on and now likes FY. Also the same for FY but not surprisingly, she is holding back because of MX.
WJG, FY, and WY all mourned for MX, and it was the men who fell to the ground. Surprisingly, WJG fainted, not FY, and WY was super heartbroken. Poor guy really had a major crush on MX considering that they did not interact that much. I would love to see MX help fill the void in his heart but sadly, fate was not on their side.
XiaoWu came back and was devastated over CWD's death. He asked MX to follow him, and she refused, stating that she will never follow another man again. Instead, he could follow her. Just when XiaoWu was going to bury CWD, there was a mudslide.
[Note: I am still holding out hope that CWD is not dead since they could not bury him. However, surely both MX and XiaoWu can tell if he is dead, so I am not sure....😔
One year later, we see FY and WJG acting as a loving couple in public. In private though, they both, especially FY were still pining over MX. There were hints of WJG being willing to move on but it was FY who steadfastly refused to entertain any possibility of them being a real couple.
FY thought that she saw MX, and WJG went chasing after that person but lost her. It was indeed MX who came back under a different name. This time as Ms. Tang, a wealthy owner of a well-renowned jewelry business.
Conveniently for us, MX narrated to a cat what happened to her and XiaoWu to get to where they are now. Then a whole bunch of flashbacks which I didn't actually mind this time since I got to see more of CWD and the moments of them together. Then the scenes from the preview where MX tells XiaoWu thst she was now a widow. XiaoWu said that she will always be the General's Furen. MX vowed to seek justice for CWD and his men who died, and clear CWD's name.
The episode ended with MX executing her plans for approaching Wu Lang. She invited some hot shots to dinner at a restaurant where FY and WJG were also at. FY thought that she saw MX but WJG told her that it was impossible. They both then started a session of self-blame for her death. This whiny pair do deserve each other.
All this time, MX was watching them and finally left.

I am glad I am not the only one. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt but I was bothered by all the things you pointed out. She is seriously too naive and casual about her life.

Of course she’s going to get complaints - she deliberately exposed the mistress to the fiancée and she thinks she is going to get away with it? She drank too much and blacked out. And she’s blaming the ML and the mistress instead of going after the other two guys?
