I like Lou Yan’s innocent transparency, no trickery or ego, just open admiration and acknowledgment of NiaoNiao’s abilities. Still, my heart aches for LBY. The strong, stubborn and silent general - misunderstanding and being misunderstood…
I actually find Lou Yao and Niaoniao really cute together. Lou Yao is a sweetheart too... I'll feel sad for him…
I have the same thought - those two growing and maturing together would have made a beautiful relationship. I wish that he didn’t have to sacrifice his own desires in the end - my heart is going to break for him
Episode 12 remains my favorite so far. So much emotions and such good acting from everyone packed into one episode. Love the intense intimate moments between CSS and LBY, the poignant scenes of CSS as we watched her growing up more, the harsh battle scenes and the aftermath, the grieving people, the silliness of 3rd Uncle and Liang Qiu Fei and much more. There were multiple scenes where no dialogue was needed; just the background music and the actors emoting well… On a side note, I actually wouldn't have minded Niaoniao and Lou Yao together because I feel that they can grow as individuals and as a couple together. He has the earnest sincerity that Niao Niao deserves and NiaoNiao would be a great partner helping him mature into a strong and confident man.
I hope people will not hate SS in next week episodes, all things which will happen are important part of story,…
While I want a HE, I’m actually enjoying this drama not because of the main leads. The story as a whole with the different characters is engaging to me. While I love LBY, I’m not super vested in his relationship with SS yet. I happen to like the 2nd and 3rd MLS for what they bring to the plot. I also don’t think the worst of the mother because I’m familiar with Asian tough love - haha! Although because the mother shows bias towards the cousin, she’s not entirely blameless. Anyway, yes - let’s look forward to more episodes as the story unfolds!
when I rewatching find many new details or notice some micro expression in their acting))
Totally agree - that aura is a good way to describe it. I think he is actually younger than the other young actors but can pull off the authoritative demeanor of a great general!

Exactly - I always thought ZLS was a born actress with natural abilities but I’m discovering that Wu Lei is consistently good too. I’ve only seen him in TLB and thought he did well.
Rewatched eps 6 - 12 this weekend and it is really a great show. The dialogue is witty and the sarcasm is so enjoyable. The humor is well done and the cast is good. Most are so on point with their expressions. Also, Wu Lei is impressing me a lot!
Rewatching the episodes starting with ep 6 and I still love the scene where LBY rescued NN from being hurt by the fire - the whole effect with the cloak and background music was chef’s kiss!
Gotta say the husbands of the Cheng family are awesome - eldest and 3rd brother both so supportive of their wives and standing up for them all the time.
Wish they had better female characters - so many mean ones ready to take each other down. Thank goodness NN has her 3rd aunt, YY and Qiqi!
I am also watching a C-Drama called Love Like The Galaxy, and another K-drama: Alchemy of Souls. Also watching Dear Adam, a Taiwanese one. Just finished 2 Thai dramas. Right now, I find Link: Eat, Love, Kill most enjoyable. It’s the show that I wished air more days! How about you?
