I came in to ask about the romance. Now I am not sure I want to watch it.
The villain did do horrible things so he and the FL being the endgame would never happen unless the plot gets rewritten to remove the bad stuff he's done. It's just that the character was definitely a good match for the FL in terms of strength, brilliance and skills ššš
This show puts me in a good mood each time until ep 8. Why did they have to complicate a lovely healing slice-of-life drama? Can't we just sit back and watch the romance unfold for our leads? I hope things resolve quickly and by ep 9, we would see our Yeon Seok Oppa happy.
Ep 7 was great but I really want to see the reunion. At least the show left us with hope so I can imagine that the reunion was a positive one.

There was romance, but not the main focus. The ML clearly showed his affection but the FL was all about her revenge and she did not want to drag him into the mess. So she never openly reciprocated, but we can tell that she did have feelings for him. Overall the romance was subtly woven in that way.
It's a good revenge show, but you won't get the tingly heart fluttering feelings from the romance. At least I didn't!
It's just my personal preference that the romance was between the FL and villain because they just seemed more compatible and the chemistry was hotter between the two :D
This was a good watch! Christy Guo nailed the role of a strong, commanding general. She was toughest on herself, and you canāt help but admire and cheer for this emotionally layered character.
Zhou Zhan did a nice job too, though he didnāt quite have the aura of a main lead. Still, his awkwardness worked well for the character, even if his protector moments were not convincing to me.
Honestly, I kind of wish the romance had gone in a different direction. I liked the chemistry between the female lead and the villain that I almost wanted them to be the endgame coupleāeven though I know that was never going to happen.
It was an interesting and overall worthwhile watch. Yet, for reasons I canāt quite pinpoint, I struggled to connect with the characters and found none of them particularly likable. Perhaps this disconnect stems from not having seen the first season, which might have offered the necessary context to appreciate their relationships and camaraderie. The mystery and case-solving elements were well doneāthough a few dragged on longer than they needed to, the series remained engaging and managed to hold my attention throughout.
I said the same and waiting to be attacked! I cannot help feeling sorry for him. I thought people would be hating…
I know rightā¦people started hating on him the moment he appeared to be the third wheel in the love triangle. I felt bad for him because he was completely respectful and supportive of HY until ep 35.
The maid assistant really loved him, but she was below his station, I guess. She was pretty, too.
Yeah, I think Chu Zhao never saw her as more than his maid and bodyguard. She probably never even considered that it was possible to be more than that. She was pretty š¢
Finally wrapped up ep 36, and I have to sayāI loved it! That final battle was like a perfectly choreographed dance routine, with HY and XJ moving in sync, and HY pulling off her airborne āshoot arrows while looking epicā move.
As a non-novel reader, I feel blissfully ignorant of all the āwhat could have beenā scenes. Honestly, Iām so satisfied that the drama didnāt leave us hanging with a half-baked āuse your imaginationā kind of ending where one of the leads may or may not have perished in the battle. We actually got a proper closure!
Highly recommended for a beautiful romance and lots of kick-ass fighting scenes.
