I was excited about this show because I enjoyed Reba in Prosecution Elite. She did well as a prosecutor and delivered a great performance next to Tong Da Wei and Han Dong.
After watching 6 episodes, Reba and the story have not disappointed. The plot is gripping and gritty, and at times difficult to watch. Warning to some who may find physical abuse triggering. It is also emotional when it comes to the victims' experiences.
What I like about the story so far is that there is no one shiny hero. It really takes a community including the police and civilians to help find the missing people and take down the villains.
This is an educational piece for sure, as Reba's character delivers PSA messages but it does not take away the entertainment.
I do hope to see some breakthrough in the main cases, though...it's nerve-wrecking at this point knowing that there is no guaranteed happy ending.
Beautiful drama. I ended up liking all the characters because they were so layered. There were some characters who started out being annoying but as the story unfolded, they showed multiple dimensions which made them relatable.
Both couples were really endearing and I don’t have a favorite pair. I do wish we got more closure for one couple.
Overall, the rating is deserved and could actually be higher.
I was ready to give this show an 8.5 for its strong acting and romance, but had a predictable plot for the first part of the show as well as weak writing. But as the story progressed and the plot deepened, it drew me in more and more.
In the end, it’s a 9 for me—can't give it a perfect 10 due to the plot holes, convenient scenes and uninspiring OST (personal opinion). I also did not like how the writers felt they have to spell out everything for the audience. We are not that dumb.
And let me say it again—screenwriters, we need more couples like Yan Chi and Qin Wan. Smart, loyal, and grounded in trust. No unnecessary drama, just maturity, strength and love.
Even the second couple, though younger and less mature, were charming in their own ways —honest, devoted, and equally endearing.
So crown prince is actually so tragic character he wasnt bad as i thinked other one is like his father. I am crying…
Right? All this time, he remained good, and even Qin Zhao Yu was not as bad as we thought she would be. It was his mother that was the power-hungry and wanting to stomp on everyone else.
Honestly, how can people not see how fake the grieving Emperor was.. Was he deliberately mocking everyone, taunting them saying that yeah you all know it was me but there's nothing you can do about it...
He's pretty brilliant though - causing all these internal conflicts and suspicion, using the power-hungry dummies but also loyal officials to do his dirty work.
That Yan Qi—what a coward. Always putting on a tough act, but the moment Yan Chi shows up, he’s shaking with fear. Classic bully behavior—loud until someone stronger walks in.

My extra 0.5 was because at least the plot didn’t stay predictable until the very end 😁 It kept me watching at least.
