You are finally talking sense. He did not understand love before that's why did not understand how he was causing her pain. But that was a flaw. So initial disliking is okay, just like you said. But i was talking about the hate! Disliking is normal but hate is not. Also, from ep 4-11 he was the one putting efforts so people need to move on instead of being stuck in the phrase "he is the bad guy."

Also, your case is different. You disliked him for hurting FL by asking to be friends. But most of the people here hated him for rejecting the FL for 10 years and my initial comment was about that before you noticed and started your elaboration on why ML is a bad guy with your reasonings

How would he know it? When he came back after 7 years, he thought that she was over him. And some people do decide to move on after getting rejected. She was just not one of them.

Just like i said, he does have flaws. But hate is a very strong word and should only be used when a person commits sins not for humane flaws.

My point is that, there was never any force. Boy just expressed his wish to keep seeing her. It was NOT like “you HAVE TO keep seeing me.” It was more like “I don’t see you in a romantic way. But you are very special to me, so I want to keep seeing you.”

Wait, I guess you didn’t get my perception of choosing love. It’s being truthful to her. Instead of, “lemme just act I never loved her and make her hate me.” That’s what caused the damage. You do realise that it’s a romance genre, right? You keep going on and on about his duties and three realms but that has nothing to do with my expectations or doesn’t excuse his actions at all. He is the ML. He has to have a way to choose love. Even if he cannot, it should not be made so bizarre where the pregnant FL has to go through this level of atrocities! You might like him and are trying to excuse him, do it! But I will never not be disappointed whenever I see that particular episode. And never not think that he could have handled it better without bringing in the noble idiocy!

Umm?! How do you force one to be your friend exactly? He just wanted to remain her friend and persuade her by trying to make her understand. She even compiled by happily hanging out with him. So, he wasn’t the jerk. The same way, she pursued him to become her boyfriend. They aren’t really different. That’s why they belong together!

She denied his friendship much later. They didn't even meet each other that much to cause her intense heartbreak. Her issues were mainly her own. He had only one genuine person in his life, her. He just didn't want to lose a dear friend for this. They both had flaws but not as deep as people here are making it seem like.

This whole "wanting her to hate him and hurting her to achieve that" is what doesn't sit right with me and majority here. I assure you if it was Qing Mu, he would have handled it better. He is the ML, so of course there are expectations from him to handle his love life in a more stable way. Xianxia dramas are popular for stabbing scenes. And him being stabbed by houchi is the only stabbing scene of leads that made me go like "ah, deserved!"

He went back again, it was not like she had to be constantlybe around him. Most of the poeple deal with it like that when close friends propose them. He just asked to be friends. She could easily deny it, which she did but much later. I am not defending him but i get where he was coming from. His parents' divorce made him commitment-phobic. They both had their own share of flaws but nothing too great to be hated in such a way. And i would rather watch a flawed love story than an unrealistic perfect one.

Surprising I didn’t hate him either. Was just too frustrated. But I would never understand his reasoning! This kinda noble idiocy has always been one of the most irritating plot device for me. The way she was humiliated and her immortal tie was severed yet he did nothing, will always anger me. And you are right, the ml of TMOPB was worse.

Nah, i am too disappointed at the ML in epi 41. This is TMOPB all over again. MLs hurting their women to death to pRoTEcT them has to be one of the most ridiculous plot device. Especially when the FLs are pregnant. This is straight up sadistic!

Some senses are underdeveloped & some are completely lost. She can hear but not that well, can see but only black-white, can’t taste or smell things, can’t feel things when she touches them, can’t acknowledge or distinguish emotions!
