Update: okay, so the drama picked it up towards the last episodes. They focused more on the love story. Finally, felt bad for JinMi when she left no stone unturned to revive Xu Feng. And Deng Lun was fantastic when Xu Feng cried to JinMi and begged her not to leave him in the last episode. I could finally feel the love between the leads. They had the sweetest ending!

I think I will become a fan of LYX after this. Outstanding acting from him. He really did overshadow the leads to a great extent. Also, his acting as the green snake was too perfect. This guy has a bright future!

Okay I am here to vent! This has to be one of the very few dramas where I don’t feel the “love” between the leads! It is that underwhelming! I only felt it during their mortal arc. I get it that her pill was restrengthened by Runyu. Still, there should be a bit longing from her side. After episode 40 I literally stopped caring about JinMi and her problems and am only rooting for Runyu and Xu Feng respectively. I didn’t even feel sad when she stabbed him or when she started crying after the realisation. Felt more bad when Runyu remembered his and Xu Feng’s bond and childhood.

It has been 48 episodes and this drama seems to focus on everything but the actual love story. Runyu’s character and story literally overshadowed the main love story. The satisfaction I felt when everyone accepts him as the Emperor and the evil Empress comes to know that he has become the new Emperor, is unmatchable. Brilliant acting from Lou Yunxi!

Will we ever see deep real love from LSS’s side in the upcoming episodes? The novel readers please spoil it for me!

Agree. I don’t get the hype about love between fairy and devil. It very average. Love & Redemption is one of the bests. Haven’t come across any drama as good as that one yet.

Normal villains, who acknowledge that they are bad, are tolerable. But I hate these kind of villains, who show themselves as righteous and do all sorts of dishonest stuff 😑

I agree. In the first half, he didn’t really do anything for his clan. He was always out with Xuanji, solving outside problems. But at last, he got what he truly wanted for 10 lives.

It’s not about how good or bad the drama is! I want to know about the romance part. I watch dramas for the romance part. Other parts play the side characters for me.

I am hesitant to start this. Because i am always disappointed with high rated Chinese dramas. Can somebody tell me about the romance? Is the romance good? How much do they focus on it?

Sad ending/ open ending for now. But there is a season 2 in December.

When i saw UK getting stabbed, i wanted a romeo-juliet kinda ending of this season. She stabs herself too in agony and they both lie in a pool of blood.

I was quite touched by the love between the leads. They didn't get romantic every now and then or spoke romantic things to each other all the time. Properly confessed towards the end. But very surprisingly, i was okay with it. I rarely see drama couples who don't need to confess love to each other. (Before this only, Vincenzo-Cha Young couple) And this leads are one of those couples. Because action speaks louder than words. The way they go to extreme for each other is enough.

It has a 2nd FL actually who is in love with the ML but she is not annoying.

Lmao, even if we put aside the fact that naksu loves uk, do you think yul truly loves her? Boy won't hesitate to kill her off as soon as she turns wild. Why would they end up together?

I kinda think that the reason of this sunday's highest ratings is the kissing scene. TVN did a good job by releasing the pictures of their kiss beforehand.

Although i agree that i kinda misunderstood and thought he is doing it out of jealousy but he means well? How? He will never save Naksu going against the rules. His intention is to stop UK from saving Naksu. It's not for Uk or naksu.

I can't believe how some people are still defending Yul when it is clear that he is manipulating the situation in disguise of his so called righteousness. "Helping them from going down the wrong path" what help? He is just doing this to stop Uk from protecting naksu. He won't hesitate to use his sword if she runs wild.

The 1st half of this drama is absolute torture. Seems like the FL likes being humiliated and insulted. The ML is insufferable! But it gets better in the 2nd half. I loved the 2nd half so much that i rewatch it sometimes. The ML has outstanding character development. Loved the way he gets all clingy with her.

Yes but 2nd FL is not that evil and turns good towards the end. She caused a misunderstanding between them. Also, yes, it has a strong love triangle.

Or maybe people have different tastes and actually liked the drama and how it was executed? Thinking your opinion is the only opinion is not cool! (Not a biased opinion. I am neither a fan of blackpink nor Hae In)
