No worries and absolutely no apology is necessary. It was a tongue-in-cheek comment from me anyway :) Glad we're all just trying to have a bit of fun to cheer up the angsty mood from the drama.
They also chopped this drama up and reassembled it. No wonder it is now so disjointed like a Frankenstein. :(
I didn't catch it during its original run, but I might watch it later on. I remember watching the first episode and it was really heavy and serious. I'm putting this series on hold because another new rom-com just popped up - Love is Sweet with Leo Luo and Bai Lu. Aaarrggh, so many romance series this month! Probably coinciding with mid-autumn festival lol

Speaking of director's cuts, The Royal Nirvana Special just finished airing with 12 episodes. I didn't follow the series but I heard that it's supposed to tie up loose ends from the original run. Maybe we'll see more "directors' cuts specials" next year lol

Yup same here. Along with the fillers, they cut out the important details linking the story together. It's funny that this drama had a huge margin of episode cuts - from 70 to 36. Other dramas weren't so drastic.
Hmm I was about to recomment 'The Promise of Chang’an ' to you with all smart characters but then ... I read…
Season 4 is out? I managed to find seasons 1-3 on Amazon Prime and Google Play so will watch when I can finally clear my Asian list. King of the High Castle, is that a new drama? I remember watching The Man in the High Castle though, which is pretty similar-sounding. I'm currently following Promise of Chang'an just to see if the ending will be different from the source material, plus it's the only "serious historical" available at the moment.
I enjoy watching dramas and writing about them, so whenever I have time I'll try to do both :)

Chris Rock in Fargo? Oh wow.
