I'm not sure either because I didn't get the chance to watch the fan special alternate endings. I only watched the official ending on episode 48. I tried to look for the extra episodes but couldn't find them. But you are right, one is with happy ending and the other is with sad/ open ending.

Yup, there's usually only 1 truly epic xianxia romance drama per year. I don't think there's any more for the rest of 2020, hopefully we get another one next year.

Alternatively, re-watch L&R and join in the discussion board which is still going strong (nearly 10K comments now), most of them can't move on either :)

Now that you mentioned it, it does make sense for the amnesia to set up the ending - you're brilliant!
It's refreshing to watch "indie", sometimes the mainstream gets a bit much with the same old plots.

I heard about Strangers from Hell, the k-drama but haven't gone round to watching it. Ok, I'll add that to my list to check out since it's on Netflix which I subscribe to. Evil Minds I'll scour for it, sounds interesting.

I find it beneficial to have timely reminders for evaluating or just giving some thought to why we do what we do. Not just with reference to dramas but also in our lives the things we generally take for granted without even sparing a second thought for. For the individual, there's no definite right or wrong because everyone lives by different ethical standards, tolerance levels and life experiences. But it's good that you've got everyone thinking and talking about this.
