Thank you for reading and you make a good point. Since this was an overwhelming amount of work, I was forced to…
Thanks for clarifying your approach. The subject matter is quite broad and subjective but I'm glad your article provides a means to create awareness to fellow MDLers. I love your tagline - Tagging for the sake of tagging should not be the goal. That's very well said! Good job and keep it up :)
should i watch? idk if i can handle her marrying someone else though....
That's just for starters, there's a whole lot of other stuff the drama will throw at you to handle. If you've already watched L&R, then at least you're prepared... sort of. Watching fluffy stuff alongside helps too.
Great article and analysis. A lot of effort put in with all the data compilation, thank you for that. Truly appreciate it! Generally agree with your interpretation. Just a thought to share. I would further distinguish tags for the characters between description of their respective traits and circumstances. Tags like rich, orphan and poor would apply to the characters' circumstances/ backstory rather than a personality trait, because it would be somewhat subjective to simply label them as either positive or negative. Anyway, hope to read more of your articles in the future :)
Ep 17 - That scene where the little boy gives Master Ouyang a couple of red dates and recites the idiom, "Teacher for a day, father for a lifetime"... damn, nearly brought a tear to my eye lol Really touching moment...
Ah you're in luck. September sees a whole plethora of romantic fluffy c-dramas that can help you get through this, should you still choose to do so.
You could try Marry Me, First Romance, Oh My Sweet Liar, Dating in the Kitchen, Sparkle Love, and Lost Romance (Taiwan). For every episode of Promise of Chang'an, you'll probably need 2-3 doses of the fluffy stuff.
Preaching to the choir, sister. It all comes down to what makes the FL's world go round - LOVE
You make a good point, realism vs fiction. Love can be irrational, toxic or otherwise. Guess we just gotta take it easy and not get too affected by the dramas :)
It may seem a little weird but I really couldn't stand ep 17. I know that Prince Qi was marrying the Princess…
I feel you. While poor Su Ci is suffering in prison and enduring torture just to protect him, he was having it easy just hanging out with the Princess.
Yup, absolutely correct. I was confused for a moment with the earlier comments, thought I missed out on some episodes where a new character was introduced. There is only one Dijun as far as I'm aware.
My fellow Cheng Yi super fans, hate to break it to you guys but after a quick browse through his future projects, it's not looking good. From 2020 all the way to 2022, there's not going to be any rom-com (unless the synopsis/ tags are written inaccurately). It's going to be dark and intense with more blood spitting, accidents, power struggle etc etc.
Why would you wish that. I prefer her husband to die so she reunited with her love. You can't just stop loving…
This is a really interesting discussion thread haha I can see where you're both coming from and I agree with the points made. Based on the context of this show though, it's just super difficult for any party to "move on". I mean they're stuck with the same family and living in the same household, it's just so twisted and convoluted. Speaking of immoral, the plot of this show is just immoral to begin with that it's bordering on criminal! lol

I don't even mind if it's a support or guest role, or at least some variety show.

Damn it! :(
