Title Dating in the Kitchen Spoiler
This woman Li Man is annoying. How dare she come between our OTP with that subpar version of Witch's Brew. What nerve in comparing her own shriveled mushrooms with the FL's fresh shiitake :/

Other than her, the whole show is just al dente so far :D

Oh no.. I didn't realize that they only air twice a week... I binged all eight episodes at once..... It is that…
Remember my advice about a big box of tissues for L&R? For this one, remember to watch on an empty stomach...so you don't crave for food especially in the middle of the night! lol
Dating in the Kitchen is such a delightful cure for the angst :D

Its sure heavier plot, and there is no funny moment like L&R. And from spoiler they said its will be sad end :(
Thanks for the rec :)
I see Zhang Yu Si (Ling Long) is in Spring Banquet too. So many shows to look forward to!

I broke out smiling & laughing so hard after realizing what the names on the packages meant. Loving the Heavenly…
Lol that's so true. I'm looking forward to how the story unfolds in the coming episodes.

Ah Allen lol.
I first saw him in Detective Dee as the titular protagonist - he was so fresh there but you could already see his talent for portraying the stoic troubled-hero type. It was the same and even more so in Under the Power. But he tried to be more upbeat and humorous in Love a Lifetime (which I eventually dropped). I haven't seen Destiny of White Snake but heard that it's pretty angsty as well, I think.
I would love to see a drama with BOTH Allen and Cheng Yi together, maybe even with BL themes. That would certainly give The Untamed a run for its money LOL

Yes, you are right, Cheng Yi stars in the upcoming Republican era drama, Deep Lurk (again not really my cup of tea, but I might give it a try for his sake).

I didn't realise Cheng Yi and Allen Ren are buddies, thanks for the info :)
Allen is a good actor as well but I don't think he is as adept as Cheng Yi in emotional scenes, from what I've seen so far. Actually not many guys can match or even surpass our boy!

I know most of you are here for Zhao Lusi but I am here for Lin Yu Shen. Go check him out in “Heavenly Sword…
Same. I'm here for Yang Xiao's reincarnation and so far so good :D
Zhao Lu Si is awesome too.

So far I'm 4 episodes in, in Lost Tomb 2. Your description is exactly correct. The moment he appears, he steals the show. He exudes the same charismatic appeal :)
And yes, HC is in there as well. In fact, there are quite a number of people from L&R in it too and some notable guest stars.

Haha, you noticed too :)
His characters in both shows share very similar vibes.

Okay so why do Asian drama always give the ML a cold role if he is interested in music like playing piano? Same…
True. They're only warm and friendly if they played the guitar :/

I actually asked the same question. Doesn't seem like it because otherwise everyone would've flocked to the novel…
Sure thing. I'm quite picky in choosing shows these days as well, especially in balancing out the angst with the upbeat. I think L&R filled up my quota for the year, and then some lol

I do agree, I want to see more diversity from Cheng Yi. I'm actually considering picking up The Lost Tomb 2 (both him and Liu Xue Yi are in it).

Yup, can't disagree with you there. With a synopsis like that, no matter how you spin it, someone's bound to get hurt. There is simply no plausible workaround to circumvent this impending tragedy...unless the director/ screenwriter throws in an EPIC PLOT TWIST lol.
I find it hard to root for the FL too. I feel like dropping this, save myself the mental anguish.

Yes.
Lol. Sorry I couldn't offer much more assistance and explanation, since you only wanted a single word answer :P
The only advice from me would be to prepare a big box of tissues and maybe some dark chocolates (I read somewhere they're supposed to raise your serotonin levels). The discussion board here offers excellent group support too :)

Happy watching!

Cheng Yi as a 17 year-old Xiao Chengxu is passable, but Sarah Zhao as a 16-17 year-old Lan Mingyu is a bit overstretched.…
True, good point. I just feel that perhaps someone like Zhang Xueying would've been a better fit for this role. Especially with the storyline spanning several decades. And her acting range is far superior. Anyway, just my personal bias.

In real-life, she is the same age with Cheng Yi. In the drama, she looks older than him. I think it's because…
"...or herself."
LOL, good one :D

You're right about Miss Truth, which was a bit frustrating because that show had so much potential yet I personally…
Yes, I understand what you mean and I agree. I think we can put that down to experience because that was the FL's first drama role and they made her a lead. She's an idol but I don't want to stereotype idols because some of them can really act. The biggest problem I had was that the trope concerning a certain geometric angle (you know what I mean lol) dragged on far too long and ended up overshadowing what would've been a really interesting investigative plot.

Title Love and Redemption Spoiler
I'm on the episode 30 and am not ready for the rollercoaster ride on episode 40-ish. Is it that bad? Is there…
Yes.

Did this drama adapted from novel?
I actually asked the same question. Doesn't seem like it because otherwise everyone would've flocked to the novel to find out the ending, which until now remains a mystery :/
