I hope you are right. Way better ending than cliffhanger followed by second season announcement.
Look, it's not so much ancient Greco-Persian war as being overrun by an oncoming flood of rabid lemmings. No two lemmings are in the rush for the same reasons. It's all just a roil of senseless, mad rodents and it arrives in 3 more days.
I though that Zhao Li-an/Shorty character from HIStory3: Trapped was an epitome of unparalleled innocence and…
Lukchub's brother is a hot mess of oddly non-brotherly vibes and this weirdly intense thing about him that makes me uncomfortable. And for someone who grew up with celebrity family, he's shit at reading the potential outcomes of social media blitzes.
And oh honey. No I did not for a second think NamNing's shit was exaggerated. I've known people like that. A lot. I was actually surprised they threw that real a bitch into what otherwise seemed like it was going to be feather light plot.
So I'm down for this show. Bas Suradet's Wayu has held singular control of my heart since he first appeared. Now he has to make room on the bench and share it with Mick's Lukchub.
BL with many sweet scenes and kisses - any drama that contains these two things will get a hype :( I enjoyed first…
Lian should have put the relationship on hold until the asset transfer from Kuea's family was complete. And then he should have sat Kuea down and said "we need to talk. This is what's been going on in your family. This is why I helped. I know about all the things you keep secret and I want us to clear the air so we can start our relationship from this point forward, honestly."
And then they could have dealt with other shit. Including the wedding and anything else that needed to happen, like growing to know each other better. This drama made falling in love look so unappealing.
I was getting frustrated reading comments on YouTube so I had to come here and was so happy to see others feel…
The show has very few merits and none of them outweigh the absolute soulless hole where the plot should be. But yes, there is hope in Nuea/Syn. I want them to have their own series too. Nuea keeps almost distracting me from by being a lead character in disguise.
Probably because of (or thanks to) people hate watching it or people (like me) who decided to finish what they…
There's nothing else in this universe already in existence and there's nothing been announced for sequels or spinoffs or tales from the same universe. But who knows what the future may hold.
Manipulating MDL rating is not that hard , for example after the last ep of TMOTB I saw many new accounts that…
See, I pay no attention to ratings here. This isn't where I learn about dramas I want to see, this was initially just where I went to look for cast listings and airing dates.
Once I got invested in the community half of it, I still didn't care about ratings. But I know some people use the ratings like you do, as a way to root through to find the ones you might like. And on that note, it IS sad that the rating is lower than it should be. However, take heart. The show has already been considered a resounding success. Word of its quality is getting out there. And that may offset the effect the rating has on drawing in new viewers.
It's toxic, ineffectual, disjointed, AND boring. And I'm still not sure how they managed to accomplish all of…
Oh, I don't dislike toxic characters on principle of "Toxicity in stories is bad". Sometimes I probably sound that way because I've stopped giving a fuck what most people think, so I don't always contextualize. ROFL..
Toxic characters are fine. So long as their toxic behaviors are contextualized as bad. The toxic behaviors of some Cutie Pie's characters were made to seem cute and romantic at times. It's the romanticizing of toxicity that I don't like. But if you have a villain that is toxic bring it on. I love to hate the bad guys. If you have a love interest even that is toxic, so long as you reform them with due diligence and don't frame the toxic elements as good, then I'm all for a good redemption arc.
Probably because of (or thanks to) people hate watching it or people (like me) who decided to finish what they…
Oh honey, that isn't in the book or in the drama. * * * * * * * That's revealed in some side story. Apparently there's a whole series of stuff in this universe. Tofu didn't get affected by the miracle, he caused it.
He doesn't. Because the obedient person was who he always was. He just also has a creative side he hides. There…
Agreed. But I'm biased there. That's literally how I get through meetings. Outside I'm laid back and composed and inside I'm like "Okay, countdown to stabbing this bitch blind with her own sambonet"
Okay, I've been watching every episode and I have a question for y'all: what are Kuea's "big secrets" that he's…
You know, when this drama first came out MDL users treated Kuea like he needed leashed to a post in Lian's yard for daring to have parts of his life he didn't share with Lian. Like that was a big crime.
Lian and Kuea's mom kind of reinforced the idea that it was, simply in how they communicated with Kuea. They referred to him as naughty and I almost lost my shit.
Having parts of ourselves we don't share with our lovers, fiances, parents, friends, siblings etc... That's perfectly normal.
Kuea's fine to be in a relationship. He just needs to have a relationship with someone, far away from Lian or his family. I say Diao and Kuea should run off together.
I agree on her lack of merit in the beginning. Phri was annoying, and awful. But what I liked was that she got…
Colorism isn't expressly an American concept. It's literally defined as lighter skinned people being prejudiced toward darker people of the same race. No matter what that race is.
And It doesn't matter what the actress' race is. It matters what the character's race is. Both Phri and her uncle are both the same race, unless somewhere I missed they stated that Phri was a different race than her uncle. In which case I should shut up. LOL.
And I will argue that showing a character being an asshole doesn't require it to be called out always. I think calling it out is the best way to go about it, of course. But it's contextualized that her behavior is wrong. I'll take your word for it that some people will find the moment funny, but that doesn't mean a bar was missed. People here laugh at topical moments involving POC as well. Bigots are everywhere. But that's a reflection on those people, not the merit of the media.
I don't live in Thailand, but I'm not without awareness or even experience of color bias in Thailand. Or it's version in INdia or China etc. But perhaps I underestimate how passionate you are about this problem, as a school teacher. Which I applaud. And I most likely also underestimate how frustrating it must be to deal with institutionalized problems like this. My apologies if I upset you. I can be an ass sometimes. LOL
While Nat never belonged to Phri, she could very well have blamed Tofu for that. But Phri didn't. Which was unusual for a BL. She eventually let go and even moved on. Something I don't think I almost ever see in a Thai drama, BL or otherwise. I do agree that her early behavior was way out of line and yes, as picky as I tend to be about workplace situations, I'd have filed a report. Damn sure bet you I'd have loved to see her face some consequences. But I suspect it would have been a big distraction from the main plot. Not that it would have been an unworthy one.
I also am equally tired of the trope where Men in BL's soft step being clear about their lack of interest in a female character, just so she can run around under the delusion that her affections can be returned. Nat needed never, ever tell her "Hey, I'm gay. Move on." But he could have said "Look, your advances are unwanted. I am not interested in you and I want you to stop bothering me." Sigh. He does so eventually anyway, if in a soft manner. He could have done it early on, more assertively. I would absolutely LOVE to see that happen in a drama one day.
And I do agree that she didn't pay for what she did. But in some situations I think learning not to be a creeper is enough. Would I have loved to have seen her punished early on and THEN redeem herself? Absolutely. But baring that I'm just impressed that Phri even was redeemed at all. Many dramas don't even bother with that much. Redeeming her showed a level of depth to her character and an investment in her role. That she was capable of growing. And I totally approve of that. Far better than one dimensional villainess stories.
My opinions are, of course, only from an outside standpoint and I probably am pretty damn naive, experienced in certain things as I am. But I come from a culture that has no room to criticize anyone on respecting color, racial and ethnic diversity. So PLEASE don't take away from this that I am judging Thailand in any way, either. And my respect to you as a teacher. That's one hell of a hard job.
I loved that lukchub and Ram completely sailed by any miscommunications. Ram dropped straight into "I trust you, Bae."
And oh honey. No I did not for a second think NamNing's shit was exaggerated. I've known people like that. A lot. I was actually surprised they threw that real a bitch into what otherwise seemed like it was going to be feather light plot.

Is it something I'm doing?
*poses heroically* Let them come.
