Okay, I'm late to the party. Woefully late. So I gotta play catch up.
I'll start by saying that Episode 1 confused me at the very end. What the fuck was that confession mess?
Overall I thought episode 1 was okay. Not great, not awful. Very tropish. But that's to be expected. The setting was bland on a production level. No places that really grabbed me, stood out or wowed. The music is cute though. And the SFX were well enough accomplished. I was a little bored, but not horribly so and I can be generous with a first episode because setup is rarely sexy.
I did like Nuea. I did NOT like Khluen. In fact, I think Khluen can go fuck himself. Mystery assholes are way, way over rated. Nuea should grab Maithee and run off to have some cute moments. Why not Phoon, you ask? Although Phoon is much cuter than Khluen and very visably interested in Nuea (Unlike Khluean who is playing some weird game), Phoon's giving me creeper vibes. So yeah, I'm one episode in and ghost shipping Nuea/Maithee.
Also Pong is giving me amazing best buddy vibes, like just about every character JJ has ever played. He needs a romance too.
The whole college "moon" type setup is old. But I like that Nuea is a visual artist and that may being a fun element into things. Being a comic artist, I vibe with him. There's not much more for me to latch onto. So I'm onto episode 2 in order to find out WTF that confessions thing was.
For me, it went wrong in each episode, starting from the end of episode 2. First it was toxic (in a bad way).…
We're not counting the hall scene. That's a recap. And a given.
So you're betting it will be Kuea.
Alright. that was my bet. So Instead I'll go with Diao. Who might have to shed some tears to get out of Yi whooping his ass for getting in the middle of this.
I think there's this weird trend this season where every show has to prove that kissing in public is somehow cool…
I am absolutely not a fan of public kisses and declarations. However, if the "public" part is people you all know and care about, it can work.
I think the final one in Fish Upon The Sky was necessary, if over the top. Balloons and all, because by then poor Pi was so broken up by the posting of those pics that he wasn't going to reconcile with Mork or understand the truth of Mork's affections without the staged Valentines set up. With the help of Pi's friends, of course. The forehead kisses by each of Pi's friends (Who started out as Pi's brother's friends) was adorable and a good lead up to Mork's public declaration. And I don't think it's too cliche because I gotta be real, I've never seen that particular setup for a declaration/kiss/make-up scenario.
I also think Wayu publicly kissing Thanu amid all their gathered friends and made family, during the post graduation scene at the end of Gen Y 2, was very good. Because it was the first time the audience over sees Wayu initiate a kiss, public or otherwise. His customary shyness was gone and it showed the level of comfort he'd gained in expressing affection during the 3 years the plot leapt forward. Their fellow classmates also each kissed their lovers in this group setting. But the one with Wayu just kissing Thanu and then repeatedly peppering his cheek with more kisses was particularly dear, with all their loved ones in this big arrangement for a photo. It was a really cute moment.
Wedding kisses probably don't count. By nature they're public and involve a declaration/oath with witnesses. But, if they did count, Tharn and Type's kiss at their wedding during the special Wedding episode was very nice. And the whole wedding was lovely because it totally normalized gayness. I mean, have we even ever seen another Thai BL do a wedding?
Yep. Oh, and don't forget:Kuea: "I'm breaking off the engagement."Lian: "Why?"Kuea: "You said you don't love me."Lian:…
Hey, this all happened way, way before and there has literally not been anything happening since then but some dicking. And the fail!proposal. So yeah, we could have skipped all that other shit.
You packed a lot of solid message into a much shorter post than I could have accomplished it in. And I agree with…
Yes she wrote Theory of Love and FUTS. And lemme say that the mean edges were knocked off both. I loved FUTS as a whole pickle, but the main couple do indeed have issues.
Though it's a lot fewer issues than TOL. Now, that's not to say I didn't love TOL. But again, some hard core toxic problems there and the redeeming element is that A) those elements were shown in negative light. And B) There was tons of character growth. Still, I'd have taken Khai and Third and thrown them both down an old well if they were my friends.
Vice Versa is going to be a mess. It's not even a hard prediction to make
That's not fair! This show has also been about lying, dogs, avoidance, sex, Kuea's general inadequacy in the eyes…
Oh, he's a genius prodigy. I'm just saying it wasn't odd for him to spot their idiocy.
I think Kuea is embarrassing in the engineering classes. Is he even passing? I never see him study. He never seems to know what's going on there. I worry for the kid in an unironic manner. Last time I saw a student with that level of disconnect from class material and that much crazy in their personal life, they were disassociating prior to a breakdown.
Nuea is hard carrying the team. Kuea is focused on whether people are making off color jokes about his sex life.

Shit, now I've going to have to work to forget it again.
Also, wanna take bets on who cries first in episode 12? I'm at that level of no fucks to give. (The recap of episode 11 doesn't count)

Mork is generally not good at respecting boundaries. Even in the final moments of the drama.
Especially since we had been experiencing this mini golden age of storytelling. And now this spring a lot of crap.
