Do Japanese actors promote the series the same way Thais do, at least regarding BL? I am not familiar with JPN…
I don't think Cherry Maho has a insta account I know they only have a twitter account. I don't think The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window is BL at all it looks like slash/bromance to me well I hav'nt read the manga so I don't know. They delayed that movie well beyond 2021.
Do Japanese actors promote the series the same way Thais do, at least regarding BL? I am not familiar with JPN…
Japan uses social media like Twitter, Instagram and YouTube to promote their series just like Thailand. Japan rely heavy on magazine interview promotion a lot but they sometimes post online interviews as well. It’s just well it’s for Japanese fans so no one is going to translate them.
Hypothetically speaking, if there is no kissing scene (on the lips) at all in the entire drama, would you guys…
I personally don’t care if they kiss or not. I said this before the theres enough romance that it really doesn’t need one. I more concerned about how they execute and adapt the rest of the story and how they will tie it all up in December. I think they are doing a good job so far.

In regards to the cornered mouse movie it has been screened in theatres in Japan since October. I’ve heard it’s done ok in the Japanese box office. The reason why there’s a few ratings for the movie because there’s no dvd release yet. I assume the rating is from fans who live in Japan who have seen the movie in Japanese theatres already.
It's all Netflix's fault! Them dropping all episodes on one day has ruined our tolerance level!
Yeah I blame Neflix too! I really like waiting for episode weekly it builds excitement! I used to do that when I watch anime every week. It also ensures that viewers enjoy the series in a longer time frame then a shorter one.

The promotional content the actors did for the series is there, it's just burried/lost in twitter, either that the content is behind a language barrier/paywall of interviews to be able to understand them.

Yeah Japanese actors do promotion for series, but it's mostly just magazine/online interviews with maybe some video interviews. This is kinda a low key drama series so there's not promotion around this series in Japan.
Plus in terms of Japanese actors tier, Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita are kinda non very well known in the Japanese population. I would compare it to the promotions that Okura Tadayoshi (well know idol) and Narita Ryo (well know rasing male actor) did for cornerned mouse movie release which WAS MASSIVE. Floods of interviews (too many that I could'nt keep up), TV video interviews, stage greetings. The movie not even being annouced for a DVD release yet. And there's no western fans for cornerned mouse to be found lol apart from myself (that's because the movie is'nt out to the west yet).
Is it only me or someone else is also wondering why Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita are not doing more promotions…
Well Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita are both Japanese actors who may have many other projects that they may be doing that's common. I mean Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita did do some promotion interviews together already for this series it's mostly in Japanese magazines that fans need to buy to see and know Japanese in order to understand reading it.
I've seen Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita do some separate promotion for the series. Akaso Eiji did a little interviews here and there, and I've seen Machida Keita promote this series way more, he went to the cherry magic animate shop recently and he was with DEEP SQUAD promoting the ending song release. It's all over twitter.
But yes Japanese actors are very tame in promoting series it's not like Thai actors at all.
if anyone read the manga, do the MC's best friend and blonde hair delivery guy get together?
I can help you on that one, so far from reading volume 5 the answer is no. But they meet outside Tsuge's house (ie bookshop) and they eventually became friends. Tsuge kind of gets invloved with Tsuge friends. Something like that.
The thing is Tsuge right now in the drama he is in denial that he is in love with Minato. It's going to take a while for him to realise his feelings for Minato.
That ''Owatta?''/ ''Finished?'' though.. my heart breaks for Kurosawa.... I gotta say wizards have strong heads,…
I took a peek at episode 4 too. They really toned down Fujisaki part but all well it was really sweet and touching. The final part when Adachi decides to help Kurosawa was pretty epic (I love the OST).
Yeah the two virgin wizards do think alike I can't blame them for banging their heads on the wall, bless Tsuge he accepted his powers pretty quick, that he did'nt want Adachi to think badly of him as well.
Next episode is going to be good! That princess carry!
The wait still continues for this movie release on DVD. Anyway I heard that this movie did good in the Japanese…
I live on spoilers and well I've ready various interviews/reviews on this movie. In particular that the ending of the movie is different to the manga. Not confirmed but well I've seen the screenshot of it so it's pretty much ture I guess but still I want to know to anyone who seen this movie already what did they think of it?
But I'll be waiting for this movie DVD release date next year or so.

To any lurkers who did watch the movie already in Japan (so envious! plus you already rated the move already) or Hong kong (also envious I heard it's going to be screened in hong kong) can you step out to share some of your views on this movie thanks!
I feel kinda bad that I am always sceptical on how I view things in some of my posts. Anyway I wanted to do something nice for the community and translated one of Akaso and Machida interviews on Cherry Magic from monthly TV guide November issue (thanks to twitter user Poly who just posted these scans so I could practice my Japanese)
I'm more afraid of the Chinese fans now. It's really popular in China now but just looking back at what happened…
Once again I am confused to how chinese fans is going to affect this series in any way. The drama is based on a manga work, so far the drama is following the manga events to a degree. The manga is very light hearted and it's SUPER unlikely there's going to be a sad ending at all. (I don't really want to repeat myself if a drama should have a happy or sad ending to be a good drama geez)
It's natural that a big growing fandom will always have changing/conflicting views that's a given. But I don't know, it's not like their influence is going to affect how the drama is going to go.
This drama series is not going to disapoint if it just follows the events of the manga, maybe the only thing that might ruin the series is that they change the ending which is REALLY unlikely as said by Ximy Japan REALLY faithfully adapt their work in media, only slightly changing certain parts for realism.
Ok I just realised something about the first scene of episode 1! This is not really a spoiler since its just a…
I noticed that opening scene right away, it's a flashforward for things to come. Which I thought was clever, as future Adachi rides past current Adachi.
So my theory of what scene this could be I have two. It's either when Adachi is rushing to the "airport" to face Kurosawa OR it could be a scene where Adachi is going to his "date" with Kurosawa.
I don't know if the viewers also noticed the causal clothes Adachi and Kurosawa wear in the ending song, they pretty much look like the clothes they wear when they go on the date in volume 4. Bit of a spoiler hint to viewers who have read the manga already.
I randomly clicked on episode 1 just to see how it is.... and I instanlt REGRETTED THIS BECAUSE NOW I HAVE TO…
I like the episodes coming out weekly personally, it gathers excitement and anticipation for the next episode, plus a week goes by really quickly in my view. I don't really like binge watching a drama series all at once, sure you get to know events sooner but once you watch something all at once the excitement is gone and you move on to the next best thing.
I have tweeted to the official Twitter account of this series requesting to open an official youtube channel for…
As much I would love it if the Cherry Magic producers add English subtitles and made the rest of the episodes on youtube. It's not going to happen I really doubt it. Ok maybe with enough effort they could put the English subtitles on the 1st episode but even so, the 1st episode will be deleted next year April. That is'nt going to change.
Japan has always been a closed off country for many years and have made little progress in appealing to a worldwide audience. Japan mostly just makes it's media in the interest of their domestic Japanese viewers only as they affect TV rating and how well a drama series does. It's always been like this for years (Apart from anime which now has enough appeal for worldwide viewers).
It's better to wait for the series to finish airing and hope that it gets licensed to be streamed on viki after boardcast.
For now what we can do as international fans is to carrying on cheering on twitter/social media.
Wait.. I wondered why 2gether is rated so badly I thought the drama was ok. Was it because of the jealous ex-girlfriend…
Hmm no that's not ture, it's ture that Japan slept on making BL dramas for a while, but Ossan's Love in 2018 really started Japan's reasoning to make more BL dramas. Japan have made some BL dramas after that like Pornographer, Life us on the line and what did you eat yesterday but they have been under the radar in the fandom. I remember being a fan of Pornographer back then in 2018 when fandom was small.
It's thanks to 2gether and thai BL dramas that put BL drama back into the spotlight and thus this BL dramas has really picked up in the fandom. Well that and Cherry Magic is a good BL manga to pick to adapt into a drama series.
But I hope this is a sign that Japan can adapt EVEN more BL mangas/works into dramas. Problem is most Japanese BL manga is not very family friendly

I guess I learned that Asako only considers strawberries as the only fruit he eats lol.
I might do some other translations in the future but they do take time for me to do.
