Just wanted to say that I was SO sruprised when I saw FirstKhao in the trailer, BUT it was so damn good in particular Khaotung because this character he played is SO DIFFFERENT from the roles that I've seen him play. IT WAS so good seeing Khaotung play a seme like bad boy. First is just really good as an actor as well.
Then I found out on twitter that First and Khaotung are really good friends in real life, so really this is the next big hit male pairing (like OhmNanon right now) so I AM SO LOOKING FOWARD TO THIS
I will keep my eyes on this series, I predict that it will come out on December of 2022 lol.
But this is'nt a GMMTV BL series, it's based on a slice of life manga. There's a gay character in the story but…
Yes I just replied to your comment, but I'll repeat it here. Don't bother with the Japanese version just watch the korean version of this story. It's complicated to explain why but yeah
While everybody is debating whether this is bl, I'm having an internal crisis because I haven't watched the Japanese…
Spoilers in case
I am a fan of the original work so.. IT'S NOT A BL SERIES. It's a slice of life drama with cakes in it. No one gets together in the end of the series and I hope GMMTV sticks to the manga's story
In my personal view the Japanese original version (the live action NOT the anime) is NOT worth watching mostly because they altered Ono's sexually so he's not gay in that version but straight, the Thai version is already 100% better then the Japanese live action version.
I recommend the korean version which is a movie , it sticks to the manga version and it's REALLY good so if you were to watch a previous version of this story watch the Korean version and not the Japanese version
Finished the 1st episode and it's already good. I say this because the drama has already has stuck to the basis…
I am suprised that they showed the trauma of Lee's character that fast, I swear in the manga this was a slow reveal but it's been ages snice I read the manga or watched the korean version of this series so I don't remember much about it
Finished the 1st episode and it's already good. I say this because the drama has already has stuck to the basis of the manga that it is based on ( unlike the Japanese version).
Shingto was amazing as Weir (aka ono) and Pluem amazing crying skills ,such talent
Looking forward to seeing Foei playing my favourite character Pooh (also known as Chikage) and the dynamics of the 4 guys
It's not happening, at all. I don't think GMMTV will alter the ending that this series is based on. Lee's character is 100% straight, his character does'nt end up with anyone at all (if they follow the manga) but he is NOT in love NOR will he ever form a relationship with Shingto character
I will be VERY disapointed if they altered the story in any way to the manga the series is based on
And we all know what happens when the mom says she's going to get a daughter in law in a gmmtv bl series :)
But this is'nt a GMMTV BL series, it's based on a slice of life manga. There's a gay character in the story but he never forms a relationship with the main guy. That is'nt the point of the series
Woo I finally watched the 1st episodeHere's my general non spoiler thoughts: I really liked it, the directing…
So some spoiler thoughts because I am acutally reading the novel currently I finished the high school arc and moving on to the university arc. I like to compare dramas to the source material so in this case the novel.
So far the drama is following the novel well, Hira's stutter, his cameria, the duckie, Hi-kun ect. Mostly the the drama is following the novel and knowing that Koyama is present meaning we will get to the university arc in a few episodes.
Just wanted to say that in the novel is written in a 3rd person narrative style (which seems to be common in most Japanese novels I read) so the narrator is explaining everything in the novel, for example in the high school arc the narrator is talking about Hira's upbringing and feelings.
This is of course different in the drama because the narrative is told in Hira's view (so it's in 1st person view) so it makes me think if we shift to the latter university arc and we switch the narration from Hira to Kiyou will we see Kiyou start narrating in his view in the latter episode (I am looking forward to that if that's the case)
Here's my general non spoiler thoughts: I really liked it, the directing and the acting was good in particular that flashback to his childhood was amazing. It's nice to see a live action BL high school drama (mostly because Japan is obessed with high school stories and yes I know about Given and Ketai hatsukoi).
The casting I think is right and Hira's Stutter is cute, I do feel REALLY bad for Hira because he gets picked on but it's the nature of the story. I like this kind of two opposite attract. There are problems with the two main characters but it makes them more interesting.
i dunno if you've heard of it but you should really watch kieta hatsukoi!! it's a japanese bl, currently airing,…
Thanks I have been watching kieta hatsukoi and I think it's cute but I think it's a really lite BL drama series. I am not saying that it's bad at all it's just I like more BL-ish dramas. I am going to wait for all the episodes to release then watch it all.
Anybody know where I can read the novel it’s based off in English?
The novel is only in Japanese and I don't think there's any company that has currently picked up for translation. Maybe one day a company will pick it up like seven seas like when they translated Yes ka No ka Hanbun ka (another BL novel that got a anime adpation).
This novel is not even avaliable to buy as an e-book on bookwalker, I had to buy a physical copy from amazon Japan
No joke that I am SUPER exicted for this series, mostly because Japanese BL drama is not that common and it's been a while snice cherry magic.
I've even bought the Japanese novel 1st volume only so I can brush up on my Japanese and read it to see any differences between the novel and the drama. There's acutally three volumes for this series but I think this drama adapation will cover the 1st volume only, maybe if I like the 1st volume I'll get the other 2 volumes later.
Should the episodes be changed to 4, 30 min, episodes?
I mean it could be, but it's not incorrect. Because the original Japanese boardcast was just a single drama special of 2 hours. The international version split the drama special into 4 episodes.
But in my view it does'nt really matter how many episodes it was.
one more thing.. i saw on youtube.. everyone already have realationship and MOb are single all the way mean mob…
The original manga this drama is baised on is a gag comedy so it's not meant to be a romance story. I think the intentions of the author is to make fun of BL tropes through the main character and little else so what I think is that the author does'nt want to give the MC a love interest anytime soon. The manga is more like a slice of life gag comedy like Azumanga Diaoh or Yotsuba. This is the basic reason to why I think the main character is going to stay single for sometime. That is in the manga that is, the drama adpatation is different.
The main character because he is an extra/non important he has no charm on women but because of the BL world he is in, naturally he starts having BL flags/love interests going after him both in the manga and drama adpatation.
This series is only 4 episodes long (international ver) or 2 hours long (Japanese version) hopefully they can work on a sequal because it did get a good reception in Japan
i am confuse.. here say 2 hrs ( the movie ) cuz only episode so i find viewasian it only 30 min i confuse??? then…
The Japanese boardcast was a single drama special of 2 hours. The international version got split into 4 episodes. Hopefully maybe in the future they can do a sequal.
It was a good parody. I like it except the ending. Seems rush and doesn't flow well with the rest of the chapters.…
WOW I found someone who's read the manga and say that they acutally did'nt like the ending of the drama! I thought I was the only fan who had these thoughts.
I am a big fan of the manga too and I too was disapointed that the drama did'nt stick to the manga plotline (not because I am homopohic because the original manga mob was always straight). Well I am a BL fan and I would'nt mind a sequal anyway.
As much as I want a season 2. I don't think season 2 has been confirmed just yet. That's not a offical source. A offiical source would be from the main twitter account or TV asahi website.
What is official for now is that there's a DVD release for June and a reboardcast on April 17th.
where di you watch them? i can only find 30 minutes of it
They kind of hinted at that because Kikuchi looked pretty confused when Mob said that. But I think it was Kikuchi who gave the chocolates in the drama because he said mob noticed and he was happy after.
Plus when Mob walked away with the chocolates in the bag, it suggested that Kikuchi saw him go after. Something like that.
Then I found out on twitter that First and Khaotung are really good friends in real life, so really this is the next big hit male pairing (like OhmNanon right now) so I AM SO LOOKING FOWARD TO THIS

Sorry to ruin or spoil your expectations
There's currently no offical translation for the novel
