I’m currently learning Japanese..(I only know a few hiragana characters and words...I mean I recently :() but…
Heya Japanese is a tough language to learn, lots of kanji, grammar and rules to learn and get used to. I am not completely fluent or really know Japanese as a native but I want to keep trying that maybe one day I'll get there. I say that I understand a good amount of speaking Japanese but I am wonky on reading which is why I practise via translations.

I don't mind if you want to be penpals if you want.

Hi did you understand the ending?? did kyoichi was waiting for imagase or not?? Sorry i cannot understand mandarin…
There is A TON of hidden meanings in the movie, oh I have another translated interview where they talked about the gay bar scene (the director did'nt understand it because that scene was written by the screenplay writer lol). That's going to be posted later.

OH NOW THAT YOU mention it Imagase WAS having sex with a stranger man when he broke down (I thought that was kyouichi but it was'nt) acutally I can't explain that scene LOL. Must be a cycle where Imagase was trying to move on from Kyoichi but he could'nt while Kyoichi was waiting for him is my best guess.
Now that some users are able to view the movie, I can maybe start posting some translations of interviews and tibits from the director that explains some scenes in the movie. Because there's a lot of hidden meanings in these scenes of the movie.

In one scene Imagase is watching a very old french movie by by himself before Kyouichi comes home the name of this movie is Jean Cocteau’s movie “Orpheus” (1950). Here's an interview I roughly translated from the movie booklet v1 (which is rare and cost me a lot of money to get my hands on it) to which director Yukisada Isao explains why he decided to include this movie in the scene.

I mean if anyone is interested in reading it might give some context to the scene, I do it to get better at Japanese but I did this translation a while ago before I watched the movie so it may not be 100% correct.

Finally watched it. As a huge fan of the manga, I have to say I'm not disappointed. There are some changes from…
Thanks for your view, lol I feel very felt out in my view but I still stand with it. This is coming from a super fan that bought a lot interview magazines with Okura and Narita and even bought both versions of the movie booklet (I swear I am never doing this kind of thing for a movie again)

I had to read the two volumes of the manga again, to make sure i get a good grasp of what can happen/or could…
Ximy it's a really good indepth review to why you really enjoyed the movie. Which I am happy for, don't get me wrong director Isao and actors Okura and Narita really gave it their all in this movie I read a lot of interviews on the behind the scenes and I know how much they cared about the original work and this adpatation.

Now that I've watched the movie multiple times, I starting to like and appreciate the movie a little bit more, but I think I still stand with my original views on it. I guess everyone views are a bit different but I think the general overall view is that they mostly like it.

But I can see why this movie has a slightly lower rating , it's still a really really good LGBT movie though.

Ximy snice you watched the movie what did you think of it? Have you read the manga beforehand or not? I interested…
Thanks I had a quick look at it, I'll reply to it there.

Hi, would you mind sending me the link? You can DM me. Thanks alot!
Can't wait to hear your views on this movie, there's a lot to analyse and think about! Lots of differences compared to the manga.

Wow such dedication for translating every line I don't have the time to do that, I just wanted to see if there was anyone who watched the movie and had different views appart from myself.

I don't think we are going to see Pornographer playback for a while (movie is coming out in feb in Japan) but I'll keep an eye out for it.

Yeah I think I understood it enough, Kyouichi was waiting for Imagase to come back to him. The very last love scene (where Imagase broke down) made little sense as in did they break up again? (or was that a flashback within a flashback from the ending scene I don't know)

But what Kyouichi said to Tamaki when he was breaking up with her that he was going to wait for Imagase to come back even if the road was hard and he did'nt want to loose him again. Kyouichi said that he wanted to wait for Imagase to come back to him when he is alone because Tamaki asked him if she could stay by his side until they came back and he said no.

Thanks for your 1st impression, it will be interesting to see what you acutally think of the movie when you will watch it. I think the views/opinons from the users are going to be really interesting (half are going to love it or hate it). I agree the movie is more LGBT/art house feeling then a standard BL movie.

I think I over look things a lot but I did'nt hate the movie I enjoyed it but it did'nt meet my expecations compared to the manga, I don't know I just want adpatations to follow the source material to a T I guess.

well that's kinda disappointing. as soon as I saw Adam Uni (FBpage) posted photos of it, I scrambled here to see…
Maii I just posted a new comment on where I watched the movie, gave enough hints to where to find it without posting the link.
So if anyone is asking me where I watched the movie I watched the rip of the amazon prime version snice that got posted on the 11th of January.

I am not going to post the acutal link cus I don't want to get into trouble. But I found it on a chinese website (14tv) if you search by the chinese name 穷鼠的奶酪之梦 you should be able to see it. I did'nt need an account to watch it, plus I acutaly ripped the movie from this site lol.

There is currently no English subtitles, in a way the movie kind of (not really) follows the manga in a way but there's a lot of scenes different to the manga. Practice on that Japanese!

The movie can be found to be watched (wthout sub) in the site vk.com, but we have to make an account to watch.…

I watched this movie and I really enjoyed it! It followed the manga pretty well. It was such a feel good movie with cute chemistry between Furukawa Yuki and Ryusei Ryo!

The kiss scenes were so cute! I loved the night and day kisses!

So I have finally managed to watch this movie and I can't help to say that I am kinda disapointed..don't get me…
Some other points I wanted to say. Ahh I could be playing Hades right now..but here I am

Differences from the manga: There's A LOT! It feels less dramatic then the manga. For example when Kyouichi breaks up with Imagase there's a part where he breaks down and tells Tamaki that he's no good for her and the whole Tamaki saying that she's happy etc that's not in the manga it just cuts when he's together/slept with her.

That whole bit when Imagase comes back to Kyouichi and get back together with him and it leads to Kyouichi forcing himself on to him was completely changed to just Kyouichi going to have sex with Imagase EVEN THOUGH he was going to marry Tamaki. I could go on but I'll stop.

Kiss scenes: Damn! Narita Ryo with his tongue on those 1st kiss scenes. But yes the kiss scenes in this movie are good. I said the sex scenes are amazing too I like Narita Ryo as the bottom BTW..LOL. Oh yeah there's like 2 blowjob scenes too R15 rated yeah right..

The ending: It was pretty much what I expected it to be different from the manga. But I think it gave the same message like the manga did. I did'nt have any problems with it in particular. It's a very open ended ending left to the viewer to decide what happens next.

I think I said everything I wanted to say. Maybe I will write a better review of this movie when I gather my thoughts again.
So I have finally managed to watch this movie and I can't help to say that I am kinda disapointed..don't get me wrong it was still good and acting from Narita Ryo was amazing!

How can I say something that urked me is that Tadayoshi Okura acting as Kyouichi was flat. This was the most emotionless version of Kyouichi I've seen. I mean the manga version of Kyouichi was so emotional and that the reader knew the viewpoint and thoughts of him at all times. But in this movie version I can't see any emotion or much reaction from him and he's a mystery I remember reading in interviews that this was intentional from the director but for me I was'nt really attached to Kyouichi in this movie version compared to the manga version.

Narita Ryo was great in this movie as Imagase but I don't know he's really tonned down his character compared to the manga. I remember in the manga Imagase was really emotional and out of control. But still great acting from him.

The scenes feel really out of place, there's no sense of time between them it's just scene after scene. There's a LOT of scenes changed from the manga well one there's less dramatic scenes and more added new scenes like Kyouichi going to the gay bar and crying after which leaves room for interperation.

But I WILL SAY that the sex scenes were great! I am not a prev or anything! The sex scenes are in the manga so I was expecting them to appear anyway! WOW they did not hide anything in these scenes and I praise Okura and Narita for doing them. But how the hell this movie is rated R15 when it's clearly R18 there's like 3 sex scenes in this movie (one heterosexual straight and 2 gay sex scenes)

Overall it was a ok adaptation but from my viewpoint which is I am a fan of the original manga I was disapointed from it. I mean I am happy they adaptated this manga but I was expecting more from it. I think from a viewpoint of someone who has'nt read the manga they will enjoy it more.
I just watched episode 9 I just have to say congrats to Tsuge, he lost his magic so soon LOL.

But wait! Was he is bottom during his 1st time because he was inexperienced in relationships that's what my brain wants to know. I did think it was a bit rushed but it turned out well.

Adachi and Kurosawa are the sweetest BL couple of 2020 so far.

I am glad that cherry magic is popular among us international fans but also upset that its not even as famous…
Hmm I am fine with the mid popularity this series is getting, I think all I care about is that Cherry Magic is popular in Japan with japanese fans which is important because that factor decides if the series will get any more sequels in the future. It's not really that important if this series is popular with international fans or not but it's fun to see a more world wide exictement with this series that I did'nt see with Ossan's Love/Pornographer

Reflection on Manga VS the Show and predictions. This episode definitely went different than I expected from reading…
I also think the manga mixed some order events of the manga but I think it's turning out fine.

I think the biggest change they made is that they skipped all of the events of the office trip and changed Fujisaka nature, once again I understand why they did it. So far everything is in line for the Kurosawa confession to happen episode 6-7 most likely.

But the Tsuge stuff meanwhile is a bit of a mess, why did they make him a bit like a stalker taking pictures of Minato like that? In the manga they just bump into each other in the book shop. Ugh I hope they justify why he's doing that..
