Title Cutie Pie Spoiler
This show has a great cast and high production values and yet it's just 'meh'. The writing lets everything down. The characters seem so one-note. Jay is manipulative. Lian and Yi may as well be brothers because they both come off as manipulative and abusive bullies. It's 2022 but this BL feels like it should have come out in the 1990's. I'm still watching for Zee, Max and Nat but, honestly? Unless some major improvements happen, this series is probably going to get one of the lowest ratings I've ever given.

Yeah the SL couple - I really don't understand the foundation of their relationship from what this show has provided…
You're absolutely correct. Any piece of media should stand on its own. The person watching shouldn't have to go referencing other media to find out what's going on. It's just poor writing and poor storytelling.

Too many look-alike actors. It's going to be hard for any of them to stand out. I've already got shitty eyesight, so this is going to be an interesting watch. Otherwise, so far so good. Despite it being yet another uni BL, I'm enjoying it. I like cooking based dramas and this one has much better pacing than Bite Me.

Well, we don't know for sure that there is a traitor or that they've been betrayed. That was just speculation on Sean's part and we know that the teasers can be misleading. I mean, they're designed to get people to watch the next episode, so teasing something like that will keep people hooked. I agree with you, though, that it's unlikely to be Gumpa or Dan. It's going to be a long week waiting to find out! :-)

If I know nothiong about Thailand I now know Oishi, Est Cola and OK Generation!GMM has the most amazing placement…
I saw the Swift in a drama just yesterday, complete with a shot showing off the reversing camera! The characters are trying to escape from the bad guy and everything slows right down to show it off! I nearly fell off my exercise bike from laughing. :-)

We just got a new Asian market down the street, so I tried looking for some of the products but only found a few.
Lucky you! :-) Our nearest Asian market is two and half hours drive away, sadly, and they don't really stock any Thai products. I was ordering things online, but that's gone by the wayside now too as Covid restrictions plus floods means things aren't getting through.
Shiro Feb 13, 2022
I don't mind PPL - it's all over media no matter which country you're from. I find it most egregious in Thai dramas, though. The way the actors have to hold the packets of food and bottles of drink so the entire label shows looks so uncomfortable and unnatural that I wince. At this point, most brands should be recognisable without having the show beat their audience about the head with it. I don't live in Thailand, I don't speak Thai and I don't even have access to half the products in the shows I watch, but I know what that seaweed snack brand is. I would take one of those Oishi drinks if it was offered to me. So most of the Thai audience probably knows even better than I do what brand they're looking at even if half the label is covered up.

I would agree. Definitely a hammy series. I just hope they don't keep up the obsessive stalker routine for too…
yes, i agree. It would. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Hmmm. Well, the acting is a bit hammy at times, and the story is nothing really new so far. I do like the cast, though. They all act well together and the way they play off each other feels natural and genuine and there are some quite funny moments sprinkled through the episode. I only started watching this because Saint is a producer and I think it's important to support him with views, if nothing else, but i find myself honestly enjoying the over-the-top antics. There's more than enough serious BL dramas out there and, I think if all I ever watched was them, I'd soon give up altogether. This is a refreshing change of pace.

GMMTV that release their shows on yt are not the same company as GMM25, same parent company but not the same company.…
https://www.youtube.com/c/GMM25Thailand They don't appear to have english subs for anty of the shows on there, though. Yes, I figured that GMM25 was a subsidiary. Still, given how incredibly popular Thai BL has become internationally in the last three years, you'd think they'd want to captitalise on it by having episodes available with english subs straight away.

If this is a GMM show, why isn't it on their youtube channel?? Is it going up a week later, like some other shows?

From what I've heard, it's only going to air internationally, thus getting around the ban.

According to Xiran Jay Zhao, the long hair in Chinese historical dramas stems from the Confucian belief that every part of your body is a gift from your parents and you have no right to damage or alter it - so no haircuts. I haven't seen a lot of historical K-dramas, and the ones I have watched don't usually show the male characters with their hair down, so I can't comment on them. I have seen a few C-dramas by now, and not only did he look damn fine with long hair, but Wen Kexing, somehow, looked even more so with it white. Thank goodness for that last special episode of Word of Honor.

Oh, absolutely, wholeheartedly agree. The suits, the rings, the watch, the bracelet, the whole attitude/vibe that he gives off...dayum. I mean, I thought he sex on legs in Baker Boys, but he's next level in this.

The only one I can find on Yacht's list that matches that description is The Effect, which sounds like a brutal watch that I think I might just avoid.

It's a theory, certainly, I'm just not sure that Maze is the type of person to do that. That sort of manipulation doesn't seem to be his style. He's very blunt and can be downright nasty, but he's not cruel.
