I understand that it is a nuisance that there is no subtitle for every episode out there for free yet. But honestly,…
I never said I expected everything for free. I only said there are no BLs from places whose language I understand. and that all I wanted was the option to choose what I want to watch. I never mentioned not paying for it - I never even used the word 'free' at all in my comment. And I would actually pay for, if I had that option, but I don't always. Geoblocking is a really annoying thing at times. And of course translators should be paid. Any of these apps (WeTV, Aisplay, Viki, iQuiyi) could pay for translators for their paid streaming sites, and then make the episodes available on YouTube with the subtitles in place a week or two weeks or even a month after they've aired on their apps and still get ad revenue from YT. To me, it just seems foolish for these companies not to take advantage of a potentially huge market, especially given the rise of the popularity of BL in the mainstream.
This is really good, especially the acting by the two leads. I did not expect it be as good as it was. I know a sequel seems improbable given one of the characters is dead (so so we assume from the ending) however if they cut it right, it could be played out like "jack" is dead because he transitioned and is now going by her new name.
Hmmm. Well, so far, so good. We've had the beginning and the middle, and now we're just waiting for the end. This episode was slightly better than the first. I'm pleased that Yin's acting has improved. He's not on War's level, but we can't expect him to be. This was all pretty good. I think that Miss Fern has just realised what's up and is going to give up her pursuit of Dew. I hope so, anyway. This story has been such a trope light experience that I really want them to avoid the jealous-girl-tries-to-break-them-up-because-he's-mine one altogether and for the FL to have more respect for herself. We shall see, I suppose.

Because, for me, there *are* no BL series from places whose language I understand. I only speak English, and all the BL's come out of Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Norway,, Germany. I'm not demanding that these countries start making their BL in English, because that would more entitled than demanding subtitles. And I don't care if it's a 'fringe' series, because sometimes those can be really good, so all I want is the option to be able to watch it if I choose to.
Might get attacked for this but the story was nothing special ðŸ˜
It wasn't, you're right, but it was well done in terms of acting, editing and the soundtrack. The story may be formulaic, but there's nothing wrong with formulaic if it's done as well as this is.
It's clear this has been made on the cheap (Best's two friends telling him they've got to to class, and it's pitch black outside the infirmary windows, anyone?) but at least the product placement isn't overbearing. Yin looks terrible with the 'schoolboy' hair style, and his acting is nowhere near the level of War's, but it's improved a lot. I'm never watching 'Love Mechanics' (it was all I could do to get through the four episode version - I'm not going to risk a rage aneurism for a full 12) so I'm just going to watch War in this.
I decided to watch eps 3 & 4 because I like Max and Nat and, I have to say, Nuea's flirting game reminds me so much of In from Until We Meet Again. Both of them just ooze confidence. I could *never*
I believe so. The words 'their story is not over yet' did pop up on the screen at the end of ep 6 of the second series, so that would imply there will be a third series.
These are only "special" in the sense that the format is higher quality and some of the editing has been redone. The extra scenes don't even add up to a minute (so far) and you can only spot them if you run the original and special eps side by side - which is what I did. Honestly, as much as they look better, this just feels like an attention grab - so the fans don't lose sight of the show before series 3 comes out.
Whilst it's nice to have the episodes in a higher quality format, these "special editions" aren't very special. The extra footage doesn't (so far, anyway) amount to even a minute and you'd have to be watching them side by side to even catch the differences. They're of the 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' variety. This just feels like a bit of a attention grabber so people don't lose interest before series three comes out.
Yeah, I didn't think Pitch was going to be such a bad guy. Bank was so funny. His drunk personality is hilarious. Gun's acting is a little better in this episode. He actually has pretty good comedic timing. And we get a bed bath scene in only the second episode. I suppose that's about right for an eight episode series. I thought Sun's painting was actually okay. People can be such snobs about art. This was a definite improvement on the first ep. I enjoyed it a lot. Roll on next week.
This first episode wasn't bad. I know that Gun's acting is still not on the same level as Boat's, but it's improved a lot. The fellow was a model first, not an actor, and acting is a skill that takes practice. He would benefit from acting classes, definitely, but he's not terrible. He's only been acting since 2018 and this is only his second main role. I'm happy to cut the young man some slack.
I'm not as bothered by the characters narrating what they're doing out loud as some people, because this isn't the first time I've seen it used, and probably won't be the last. It seems to be common practice for a lot of Thai BL. It's not the fault of the actors, either. Of course, this is a visual medium and 'show, not tell' should be the obvious rule, but the actors have nothing to do with that.
The straight-man-falls-for-another-man-but-only-that-man trope looks like it's going to be used again here but to be honest I'm not entirely sure about either of their sexualities. The look that Sky gave Sun when he was working out with the weights in the yard wasn't exactly subtle, and Sun says he's not interested in Juno.
Sun is interesting in that it seems like he's out of his depth in the uni setting. He's uncomfortable in social situations and it makes me wonder what his upbringing actually was. Did he go to school, or was he home schooled? He's clearly been taught to fight, so maybe he had tutors ? That would make sense if Sky's father treats him like another son.
I don't blame Sky at all for sneaking out. He flat out asked Sun if there was another reason he shouldn't, and Sun said no. Sky's father probably doesn't want him to know so he won't worry, but that's not helping things. Sky can't see a reason why he even needs a bodyguard, so of course he's going to want to go out and have fun and not understand why he can't/shouldn't.
the movie is going to be a combination of the first series, second series and some unaired scenes from both series,…
You could just consider it a feature-length episode, I guess. Anyway, the release has been delayed because of Covid, so we won't get to watch it any time soon.
I don't think that is very likely. The producing company (Viu TV) has big operations in Southeast Asian countries,…
Plus, the Japanese version of Ossan's Love isn't exactly explicit. There's a couple of kisses, and that's it - which I've noticed is true for a lot of Japanese live action BL. So there wouldn't be much to censor.
I liked the last episode. Not as much as the previous two, but it was still a very nice episode. I've always like Kim & Copter together. And the fact that this time Kim was playing a more stand-offish character (out of the VR anyway) was a nice reversal of their usual roles. The first two episodes of this series are entirely missable and skippable, but the last four redeem the series completely in my opinion.
I can't believe Peem was wearing a t-shirt with a sun graphic on it and XiaoPing was wearing a t-shirt with 'I love sunshine' on it and Peem didn't connect the dots. With this episode and the last one, this series is redeeming itself rapidly. Such a good episode!
Ep.3 was definitely an improvement on first two. I really liked this one. Sweet and fluffy. I love the way Mini calls Titan "giant Godzilla." They're so great together. Max and Nat definitely have the best episode so far.
