Not really.... they got it.... but we didn't :( I'm so disappointed they didn't show the kiss... why? the chemistry is insane and they're adults, but they left us hanging there... They didn't have to show us an intense kiss scene ( but they could've easily pulled that off knowing both actors) but we didn't even get to see the kiss... this is no better than the infamous wall kiss of korean dramas ...
Gi Jeong and Tae Hoon are so cuuute!! *sigh* I'm trying not to get my hopes up because they probably won't end…
I actually liked Tae Hoon's sister but after yesterday's episode I don't anymore 😅 I hate how she's always saying that she's sacrificing her life for her niece and that she will die alone just to take care of her niece... That's not just pressuring her niece, but she's also trying to guilt trip her brother for finding someone he loves again. That's really toxic behaviour and it's actually downplayed by that "comedy-like" character of hers.
tbh I had a hard time getting warm with this drama the first 4 episodes... but gosh.. how I'm loving it right now !!! 😍 I'm glad that I didn't drop it and continued, because I started to like all of the character even those, who I couldn't stand in the beginning (Yeom Ki Jung).
MJ and Mr Gu's relationship is such a splendid slow burn. I love good slow burns so much... don't know if they are ever gonna be real romantic, but I think I will be satisfied either way. Their chemistry is insane and I've totally fallen for our "not so mysterious anymore" Gu Ja Gyeong XD The gaze he has when he's looking at MJ lovingly... I love it!!!
And totally unexpected...the bromance between Mr Gu and Chang Hee! Never knew I needed it, but lol... they're hilarious together! 😂
Hope this isn't overly inappropriate given the nature of the theme, what with so many kdramas trying to appeal…
Well, it's an adaption an American tv series so it's actually not that weird if it's "westernized". But we didn't even get to see the drama yet, so I wouldn't judge it as of now :)
I dunno why, but I think/have the feeling that Seon Ah might adopt the teenage couples/highschool kids baby?
I hope not... I feel bad for her but she's not in the condition to take care of a baby hence why her son is with the father. I hope she finds her way to be happy again tho, but a child substitute for her son is not the way to go.
If someone adopts the baby I hope it would be Eun Hee. She's mature, responsible, capable and kind. And she can't get children of her own anymore since she has meno pause.
Does anyone else just keep expecting Gu and Mi Jung to just frantically make out on the floor or something or…
haha their chemistry is insane and the sexual tension is real... so it's definitely not just u XD But given the nature of this drama... I think it won't happen... hopefully we get a kiss tho.
If you don’t mind watching airing dramas definitely check out Wo Rules the World!!!Completed dramas…maybe…
Thank you! I don't mind airing dramas, but I tried Who rules the World... I was excited that Yang Yang and Lu Si are the leads, but it's actually the magic elements that I don't like. That's why I was asking... because there are so many Wuxia dramas or fantasy/magic elements dramas out there...sadly I don't like those historical dramas, that's why I wanted recommendations of dramas without it :D I will try Jun Jiu Ling tho, seems like there is no Wuxia or fantasy genre on that one. Thanks ;)
It's been a few months since I watched this drama and I'm thinking of rewatching because I miss it so much... I can't seem to find a Chinese historical drama like this even tho there are so many out there T-T Are there any similar dramas to The long Ballad? With exciting plot, great relationships, lovely love story and most important awesome fight scenes?
There are actually many historical dramas with good ratings on MDL but a lot of them are Wuxia and I can't seem to get into that genre. I can't take the fighting scenes in those dramas serious. There is too much flying and hovering while they fight... it's more fantasy fights...and I want realistic fighting scenes...
The long Ballad is still the only historical Chinese drama that I really like... want to find more tho :')
the fl is really amazing *scoffs* ( even if i keep saying this to myself - ok , mayb she has her reasons for acting…
I agree. I don't really like her so far as well. She's kinda airheaded and seems dumb to me at some point. She seems to have a strong personality but gets flustered and has weird unnatural reactions sometimes... I know for sure that the character is unnatural and not the actress, because she's actually a good actress... but the fl lead is not doing it for me so far...
I'm in the middle of episode 2... and thinking of dropping. It's just so boring and no character is doing it for me so far...have the huge urge to skip,... and I do love slow paced dramas. My Mister is my all-time favourite drama ever and I loved Lost as well, so it's not the slow pacing for sure.
But I'm reading some good comments... so maybe I'll try until episode 4...
