I loved this drama so much back when it first aired and so I'm gonna rewatch it now, because I'm bored and want to watch something exciting again. And I'm sooooo pleasantly surprised to see Jung Moon Sung in this drama. I didn't remember him back then, but watching him now in Hospital Playlist as Jae Hak alongside Jung Kyung Ho is so fun, because I love their chemistry so much. Didn't know the two of them were in Cruel City together. So cool :D
You are right (i wrote about that below as well). The writer has problems writing about romance. She deals with…
Thank u for your input and you have really good points! I also think the writer is awesome when it comes to family or friendship relations, but love... not so much. Especially after the couple is formed, the process before is actually quite enjoyable tho.
I can understand Ik Sun of not wanting to get hurt, because of her past experiences, but the process to that decision is a big boring cliche for me and that's something I don't like, when I know the writer is capable of great writing. It's just disparaging their characters, especially Ik Sun.
As for winter garden, they're a calm and lovely couple, so that a conflict is arising, wasn't actually bad, but make their scenes more exciting. But for the same reason u listed I actually thought it's weird, that a couple can't be together during such hard times. I guess they will keep being strong in supporting each other, but I would want a relationship, where I know we're gonna be together trough happy and sad times. But everyone deals with hardships differently, so acceptable :)
So gonna have a quite long rant about Jun Wan/Ik Sun couple... or the love relationships in HP in general. I love HP S1/S2 deeply and it will stay one of my fave dramas ever, but something about the love plot lines in this drama really irks me.
Well, I think I'm not the only one.... I just hate what the writers turned JunWan/IkSun'S relationship into. The writing for this drama is usually marvelous and unique, especially the relationship ones, be it friendship or other relations. That's the strong point of HP and why a lot of people , me included, love it to pieces....And I loved Jun Wan and Ik Sun's relationship so much in season 1. They are both head strong characters with a really goofy and lovely side.
But this boring "I broke up with u, because I thought it's the best for u, but I still love u after more than a year"- trope.... is something I expect of dramas with bad writing. It's just a typical boring cliche story. This isn't something both their amazing characters deserved and it disappointed me hugely how uncreative the writers are with their relationship. It's sad. Just really sad! I loved Ik Sun, but this made her look so bad and immature. Sigh... what were the writers smoking/drinking?
I feel that the writers don't know what to do with their couples once they're together.
Jun Wan/ Ik Sun -> "Let them break up! But let both of them still be likable, so make Ik Sun sick, so she can have an excuse to go back to him, once we know what to do with them again!"✓
Jeong Won / Gyeoul -> "Hmm... we're not gonna break them up (yet?), but just have their screen time together limited. Let Gyeoul have family issues and not have time for Jeong Won anymore, so we don't need to come up with scenes for them!"✓
That's how I imagine their conversations -_-
I'm scared what they're gonna do to Seok Hyung/ Min Ha and my deeply treasured Ik Jun / Song Hwa couple :'(
If they ruin or harm Ik Jun/ Song Hwa couple in anyway, I'm gonna riot!!!!
People can not see what XXJ and LSY has been through. The girl just had CL on her lips, otherwise, she ate, slept,…
How does the novel end? I can't watch this drama any further if I know there's gonna be a sad ending... I don't care about slow burn romance, even if they just end up together in the last ep, but if they don't end up together or worse someone dies, then I rather not watch it ;_;
Is Allen Ren a good actor? I've never seen a drama with him. Can someone recommend me some? Best would be a drama in modern time. I don't really like to watch ancient historical or fantasy dramas.
I came here for Bai Lu because I loved her in Arsenal Military Academy and anticipating this drama. Allen Ren looks kinda like a child compared to her. He's older but has such a baby face. Does he act and look mature in dramas?
Edit: Thank you all so much for the recommendations!!❤❤ I will try out One and Only first and then Under the Power or Miss Crow with Mr. Lizard :D And I saw a few clips of him and he looks so much older and mature in those clips. Mydramalist should really change his profile picture. He looks like a child actor in that one XD
loved this episode but damn why did they make jaehak and his wife suffer like that? 😭 jaehak has gone through…
I'm actually really pissed at the writers for this. He's such a happy fluffy ball even with all he's been through and I love every single scene with him and he became one of my faves. Why are the writers so cruel to him? Not fair :'(
I'm only sometimes watching this because of my love for Jung Kyung Ho but I find it as boring,if not more,as season…
It's completely okay, if u don't like it and want to drop it. Everyone has a different taste. I love it and enjoy it very much, but it's totally okay, if it's not your cup of tea :) Hope u have seen Cruel City with Jung Kyung Ho in it, because that's my favourite drama with him ;D
Hmm... I rate the first half 9.0 and the second half 2.0.... Really disappointed how this drama turned out. Wu Yan was annoying and rude in the beginning, then I quite liked her in the middle, but turned annoying again in the end. And Nian Qin turned into an obnoxious obsessive creep after surgery and the time jump. Sorry, but his behaviour was horrible. That was not romantic. The character development went downhill deep and the story became so cliche after time skip ,_,
I really liked the story and their relationship in the beginning, so I'm quite sad it turned out this way :'( I also would have wished a better transition from Nian Qin's Life after his surgery. That part was so underwhelming and had actually a lot of potential, but well... did they change the writer in the second half or what?
another Love scenary, they are lacking imagination...
It's nothing like Love Scenery at all... totally different vibe and story. Just because the lead is an actress and gaming is involved, doesn't make those two dramas the same. How about watching it before judging? Because I've seen both and they're totally different.
Maybe I cried watching Yu Tu's teary proposal in EP 30 T-T The acting was marvelous and so real! I felt his sincere heart through my veins :') Everyone saying Yang Yang's acting is stiff really should get an eyesight check up... I've never seen a drama with him before this, but wow... both Yang Yang and Dilraba are genuinely great actor/actress! I'm so glad I watched this drama and encountered both of them. Also watched The long Ballad because of Dilraba and fell in love with that drama as well :D
I think You Are My Glory is my 2nd fave Chinese drama now :) 1st place still belongs to Go Ahead ;D
After gaining an interest in Dilraba watching YAMG, I searched for other dramas with her in it. And this one was quite new and had a high rating. I was skeptical first, because I usually don't like Chinese historical dramas with a lot of episodes. I always start some and lose interest in the first few episodes.... but this one blew me away! The first episode was awesome!! The production quality, the cinematography, the music, the ACTING!!! Everything was so freakin cool and gave me goosebumps. I think the moment I watched that football game in the first episode, I knew I would love this drama. Because how cool was that football game?!? XD
During my vacation I binge watched all the episodes and suddenly 49 episodes weren't long enough T-T Now I'm trying to get over this drama.... but it's hard to start a new drama, because I was so invested in all of the characters in TLB. Especially Li Chang Ge. She was such an amazing, mesmerizing and strong main lead. I already liked Dilraba because of YAMG, but I fell hard for her in TLB. She is great! And wow... she's one of the most beautiful actresses I've ever seen!! *___*
My favourite episodes got to be the ones in Shuozhou, where she is the commandant and a warrior. I think it's the first time in a while I had goosebumps all over because it was so exciting!
I think I could write a novel about how much I love this drama, but it's late and I have to work tomorrow. Any other dramas of Dilraba this good, that I should check out? Because I love her so much now XD
I dropped the drama because of this silly scene and then came back to it because of the many positive comments…
I also dropped it because that scene made me hate the FL right aways after I started the drama. But then the positive comments made me watch it again too and even tho I think the FL was still quite annoying at some parts, I think I got over it and started to like the drama as well :D
Started to watch this drama after falling in love with Yang Yang in YAMG. I saw the good ratings, was excited and hopped right into it... but little did I know. One of the WORST dramas I've ever seen!! XD Wow... I'm really surprised so many people loved it and gave it a high rating. But well... each to their own, right?
Had to drop it around episode 10. The plot was nice, but the acting was bad, maybe it wasn't even the acting, maybe the director wanted robotic fake cringe people? I couldn't stand the FL... she was so not natural... don't really know how to describe her... kinda like a robot and tried to act too cutesy. I don't know how many times I cringed and had to stop the video.
Not even Yang Yang could make me endure this drama til the end XD Sorry
Episode 1 Minute 7 ..... how to successfully make me dislike/hate the female lead:
She sat down next to a musician in a park, who is playing the violin. She puts her earphones in RIGHT NEXT to the violinist. In my opinion, that's quite disrespectful in itself. That's a human playing music, not a robot. Could've hurt his feelings.
But then she also started singing very bad and loudly. That might have been a public space, but that's just plain disrespectful and RUDE. She could've sat somewhere else easily without disturbing others.
After the musician went away she looked back at him right away. Because she wanted to shoo him away. There is no other explanation otherwise. She's either plain dumb or extremely rude.
I just started this drama and not sure, if I want to watch any further. Because my sympathy level for the FL went from 0 to -1000 real quick because of that scene :(
I loved the latest episodes! Ep 13 to 16 were so great and exciting! Yu Tu towards the end of episode 16 literally broke my heart. I mean he's the one who put himself into misery, but I think I understand why he feels he can't offer her anything. I'd have felt the same :'( He just needs to understand his worth now and that everything can work out if both parties try their best.
Plus I loved how this drama is viewed from the man's side.!!! There aren't many romantic dramas like these and it's refreshing to see. I know for some it's annoying, but I think it's quite interesting :)
Also I have to empathize the GREAT ACTING again! I'm baffled of comments who say otherwise, but everyone can have their opinion :) Still for me the acting is first and foremost REALISTIC! That's the word I'd use to describe it overall. No exaggerating, no dramatic expressions... just people interacting in real life. And I freakin LOVE IT! :D
I am frustratedWhy?Coz 1 episode only 30 minutes long when most dramas are 40 minutesI am very frustratedAnd why?Bcoz…
I'm frustrated because I started watching this drama way too early... not even half of the episodes were aired. What did I get myself into... Let's suffer together T-T

But One and Only doesn't have a lot of episodes, so maybe I will try. Thanks :)
