On Story of Kunning Palace Nov 22, 2023
I'm on ep 14 now. The politics and palace stuff is sooo much more than I imagined... I also feel like I haven't clicked with any of the relationships yet. Because we haven't really seen a genuine development. Everyone just kinda feels for someone but we haven't seen how it really started and it kinda throws me off and disconnected to the romance. I came here for the romance... but maybe that was wrong of me to do so πŸ˜… This drama is more politics and palace affair as of now.
It's kinda dragging and boring to me. Maybe it's not my cup of tea after all 😭

I will continue, because I feel like it hasn't even really begun yet...

But there is one sentence in the middle of ep 14 which made me curious and I need someone to spoil it for me:

Finally, I have time to watch this!!! I'm so behind... I guess I won't be able to take part in the current conversations because I don't want to get spoiled, so I have to keep up πŸ˜…

Oh man, but the first ep was so confusing and a lot to take in >_< I don't know if I liked it and feel actually overwhelmed to keep watching. I'm really not the biggest fan of this kind of storytelling when a drama begins in the middle or end of the story. Where we see all those emotions but don't feel a thing because we don't know what happened and what kind of relationship the characters have to each other... And we get tons of flashbacks instead to tell the story. I know this is the way the story is supposed to be told, but I have a hard time connecting like this >_<

It's like two storylines are being told at the same time...

Title Castaway Diva Spoiler
- The writer likes emotional guys over level-headed individuals (See: HJP from Startup vs. Do San with anger issues,…
As I like Woo Hak a lot, I would love it if they pulled a "Dream-High-move", but the screenwriter is known for dreadful love triangles and giving hopeful scenes to 2nd leads XD
But as this drama seems to rather focus on Mok Ha and her dream and less on romance, my guess is they will leave the romance have an open ending and just show Mok Ha as a successful singer...

I'm enjoying this drama by just watching the main couple and the villain scenes hehe XD l I don't care about the drug story or any other characters hahaha Is this the right way to watch a drama? No, but I don't care. I enjoy it that way πŸ˜‚ The leads are cute together and the villain is interesting :D

I don't get the people who are furious about the people who support the villain and tell them to go to a mental hospital... This is a freaking drama. Fiction. It's not that deep πŸ˜‚

I enjoy Mok Ha's and Woo Hak's interactions so much! Be it as friends or more... they have such a chaotic dynamic that I enjoy a lot πŸ˜‚ This writer really knows how to make lovable second male leads who never get the girl lol

As if Kim Seo Wan's story wasn't already sad enough, the actor who played him was just too good at portraying him. Phenomenal acting! Made me love this character to the chore and got attached to him fast. A huge applause to actor Noh Jae Won :D

Oh god no... That breaks my heart already 😭 After watching the beginning of ep 5 I had a gut feeling that something is gonna happen to him. That's soo sad 😭 He's such a sweetheart and one of my favorites in the drama.

Thank you for the spoiler! I will prepare myself and watch further now. Hopefully it won't hit me too hard now if it happens.

I just started this drama and loving it so far! I'm on ep 5 right now and I need to know something before I can watch further, because it will ruin my mental health otherwise...

I'm so attached to that patient Kim Seo Wan who sees himself in a game world or something. I'm scared that something bad is gonna happen to him and I need someone to spoil me on just that. Is he gonna be okay and alive by the end?
So that I can mentally prepare myself... Please put it in spoiler!

I was looking forward to this drama and waited during my whole vacation abroad to finally go home and watch it hahaha πŸ˜‚ But the rating and comments don't look too rosy πŸ™ˆ Guess I'm gonna skip it then. Too bad... because Bai Lu, Dylan Wang AND Wei Zhe Ming!!!! 😭 Such an excellent cast they have. Will probably watch this through fanmade videos tho πŸ˜‚ Precious fanmade editors are always able to make a story look better than it actually is :D

Is this drama good and recommended to watch? Seeing a lot of polarizing opinions about this drama.
I've just binge-watched 6 episodes. Well, it's okay and watchable, I would say haha πŸ˜‚ I can't relate to the high rating tho but each to their own, right?

If you enjoy Makjang, clichΓ©s and Korean weekend dramas, then this could be something for you. I like that this is Makjang without the usual 50 or 100 episodes. So it's really fast-paced and keeps u entertained that way. But I know already that this will be a one-time watch for me. Just try for yourself and see if it's to your liking :)

My issue with this show is how they're dealing with what FL went through on the island so superficially. Being…
Well said! 15 years alone on an island as a child would be traumatic as hell. She is strong for surviving this and staying sane. But I agree that they actually made a caricature out of her instead... I try not to be so serious about it and see it more as a weird comedy choice...

Really excellent drama! I cried buckets of tears during the last episodes. The bromance between son and father was so well-made and the absolute highlight of this drama for me! It was a solid 8.5 for me! I wasn't fond of a few things, but I still enjoyed it a lot! I don't get why people complain about the high rating! If so many people enjoyed it that much, than that's it! :D The rating was also really organic. It got higher slowly every week 😊

My highlights:
1. Dad & son duo
2. Yi Chan & Cheong Ah
3. Eun Gyeol & Mr. Viva in his childhood
Really great writing with those characters and stories!

I feel Yi Chan and Cheong Ah could've filled a whole drama of their own stories! They have so much potential for a drama solely about them. I would've loved to see how they grew closer over the time and how Yi Chan coped with his life after the accident. Oh man... what I would give for a sequel drama of their lives afterwards!

Need a season 2, but a prequel on Chung-ah's life after her father take him abroad for school, for sure Yi-chan…
Yi Chan and Cheong Ah would be A+ material for a drama just about them. I would've loved to see how their lives became after Yi Chan's accident. How they found their way to each other again after Cheong Ah went abroad.... still so many stories to tell about them :') They were my faves and have so much potential for a whole drama of their own.

Shin Eunsoo is the gem of this drama
I love her as Cheong Ah and her acting is good!! Hope to see more of her in the future. She's really good at subtle emotional scenes.

Really? Wow... I thought it's their voices. Sounds so much like them :O Would love to know the real singers, because Yi Chan's voice is fire! I really love his singing voice.

Was anyone really impressed and touched by the ML's story at the beginning of the series but the show's quality…
The beginning was so heartwarming, emotional, bittersweet, full of precious interactions and encountered difficult topics in the life of a CODA child.

Except for a few emotional scenes of dad/son bonding, it started to be a typical teen flick with a never ending love battle, "misunderstandings" and dragging important plot lines without exploring the characters on a deeper level. Missed potential, because all four main leads have so much more to offer.

I can already feel a rushed ending with all the interesting plot lines coming too short or anti-climatic. I also still like it, but the missed potential of this drama to be "more" is wasted. Yes... maybe they intended this to be like that. A typcial teen rom-com. But the beginning just hit different!

I liked episode 12. The band has to write a song. I think Eun Gyeol will start to compose one but he will not…
Yes! That's what I thought too!

For real! I was so happy when Eun Gyeol came clean towards Yi Chan, but then took it back and said it was an excuse!…
That's not what I'm questioning. It's Eun Gyeol thought process I'm questioning. It would help him if Yichan even believes just 50% of what he says if he really wants to prevent his father going deaf. So I don't get why he took it back.
The only reason I would think of, is if Eun Gyeol thinks that if he Yichan truly believes that Eun Gyeol is his son that the future might drastic change or so... but we don't get to see Eun Gyeol's thought process, so it's difficult to know what he was thinking πŸ˜…

The writers sometimes just spins how they want to create conflict to expand the story, even if it makes no sense or they don't explain it. (Just like Eun Yu's unlogic mission to find her mom's first love to change the future.) Therefore Eun Gyeol's sudden decision to keep his dad in the dark even tho it would be helpful to his mission is questioning for me...
