I enjoyed this drama overall. Nothing too heavy on the mood. It was nice to binge-watch and kill some time. But I wouldn’t watch it again.
It’s the same repertoire we always get when an idol and a „commoner“ is involved. They meet, fall in love, be happy for a bit, idol-life gets in the way, they break up for either’s sake and meet again a few years later. Everything unfolded just like expected. Nothing new or unique about it. The main leads' characters were also pretty common for idol/commoner drama. A seemingly arrogant idol with a painful past and a kind, sensitive counterpart.
It’s good enough if you are bored & have nothing else to watch. Also the actors are pretty. That’s about it :)
I'm curious what kind of changes they made for the remake. Because I think none of the Korean actors so far are similar to the original cast or give off the same vibes. But I'm still excited and looking forward to it 😊
Go Ahead is a beautiful drama and the first Chinese drama that I really loved even tho I couldn't get into Chinese dramas for a long time. Now I absolutely love those slice of life/romance/family dramas of Chinese origin. It successfully made me into a Chinese drama lover :D
If someone didn't want the Chinese Original yet. Highly recommended!! ❤️

Is it biased to have an opinion? I don't think so. I don't hate Eun Yu, but I just don't feel her and Eun Gyeol as a pairing so far. So what about it is talking trash about her?
People should stop being so triggered if one feels different than someone else. It's not hating or being biased. It's called having a different opinion or different feelings towards a character 😅

I love Eun Gyeol and don't mind him being the centre and having a love line as well, but as of now... I just don't see or feel it with Eun Yu. I just wish for a better approach between those two. Maybe we will see it in the next episodes.
I would prefer to see more of his scenes with Yi Chan or Cheong Ah. But well, still looking forward to next episodes. I love everything else about this drama tho :D
Sorry, but I think there is still no reason to ship Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu. I’m kinda turned off by the fact that the only reason they start to get attracted to each other is because of appearance. The small „romantic“ moments they have so far are always triggered by appearance. Therefore their development just kinda feels forced and superficial to me. I know appearance is also an important part of falling in love, but it just seems forced here. Because all they do is quarrel, fight and they didn’t have one normal conversation so far.
I also just don’t like the way Eun Yu acts towards Eun Gyeol. I mean he’s also not kind to her, but she’s just on another level of immature and rude. Splashing him with ketchup, belittling his feelings ( like I hated how she reacted towards him thinking he was gay and made fun of him. Even tho it’s not true, she was still just insensitive imo) and now even tripping him and making him fall down. He could’ve easily gotten hurt. I’m not sure if the writers trying to force her to be a comedic relief character with those interactions, but it just doesn’t suit her and makes her not so likable. I hope the writers will find a way for a natural approach between those two. As of now it’s just feels forced.
So far I just like Yi Chan and Cheong Ah as a romantic ship. I just don't feel Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu... but I guess they will have even more screen time than the parents... T-T
Finally mom and son scenes! We’ve waited so long and they didn’t disappoint. I loved their interactions so much! ❤️Heartwarming but heartbreaking at the same time.
Eun Gyeol must have missed his mom so much and to see in what kind of horrible environment she grew up, must have been really heart breaking for him. Because he just knows her as a cheerful person T-T
I'm on ep 7 and had to stop, just to come here because I'm in awe because of the phenomenal acting of Im Sung Jae who's playing Jeong Bae!! The scene with him and Gi Chul arguing and Gi Chul kicking him out. Both of their acting is just amazing! You can literally feel the hurt and betrayal both of them feel towards each other. The trembling of their mouth edges and eyes filled with rage and betrayal. Just excellent!!!!!!
I know all of them are the evil guys, but I can't help but feel pity for them. Jeong Bae is an ass, but gosh! The acting made me feel bad for him. Also because we know that he is right. He's suspicious of Seung Ho because he has great intuitions and is questioning everything.
Joon Mo is doing a great job splitting them apart and destroying the gang from inside... But I can't help but feel bad for the betrayal Gi Chul will feel, if he finds out that he was a cop all along and Jeong Bae was right >_>
imagine complaining about a happy go lucky teenager being immature and frustrating...shocker. damn you guys would…
Yeah, so u also agree that he's immature and frustrating. Just what I said 😂 So, where is the problem? I can't express my opinion?
Doesn't have anything to do with him being happy-go-lucky at all. I love Yi Chan otherwise, but this episode he was annoying. Obsessed with a girl who rejected him several times, having no self-respect and not caring about other people's feelings.
I know he's gonna have character development, but why can't I express my frustration, if I didn't enjoy his character this time?
Imagine complaining in a comment section about the opinion of others :O
Episode 6 was kinda a let down... Too many annoying and frustrating scenes. Just the last 5 minutes were enjoyable and exciting 😅
Sorry, but I find Seol In Ah's character really annoying so far. I mean she must have her reasons to cling onto Yi Chan. That's not the problem, but I just can't with her personality. They are trying hard to present her as that cool and outgoing character, but imo she's just noisy and insensitive. I even liked original arrogant Se Kyeong more lol I really hope they will tone her down a bit in the future episodes. Because she's a main lead.... and I want to like her scenes with Eun Gyeol.
And Yi Chan was just as annoying and frustrating in this episode. Can't wait until he matures a bit.
I thought we're finally getting Eun Gyeol x Cheong Ah scenes, but nope :( Disappointed! And just 2 minutes for my only ship in this drama Yi Chan x Cheong Ah. Preview looks good tho! Hope Cheong Ah finally gets more screentime..
The only thing I didn't like is how they wrote Jiang Zhan off like that. I kinda knew he would die, but the guilt…
I agree! They had a lot of episodes for a better ending. The built-up for a finale fight was there, but the fight wasn't. I would've preferred they had a big last fight with Jiang Zhan participating and him sacrificing himself, if he really had to die. His death was so meaningless... Also maybe killing Longzhi in the process. But I guess they had to result to peaceful methods so that Chang Dong can live a longer life.
I also didn't like what happened to Gao Shen, but I wasn't that invested in his relationship with Ding Liu, so I thought it's good they got somewhat of a "happy" ending at least... Better than him dying or becoming a human snake with no memories.
But overall I enjoyed this a lot and I'm thankful at least the leads got a "proper" reunion & happy ending.
Someone recommended me this saying one of the leads has similar vibes to Xiang Liu/Fang Feng Bei of Lost You Forever. Can someone confirm if that's true? 😂 And if yes, who of the two male leads is the one?
This was a really good and unique drama with excellent acting! It's the first time I saw Ni Ni in a drama and…
The only thing I didn't like is how they wrote Jiang Zhan off like that. I kinda knew he would die, but the guilt suicide was poorly written imo. They should have at least given us a reunion of him and Liu Xi with both their memories intact. I was waiting for that reunion the moment we found out about their past and how manipulated they were by Longzhi. I absolutely hated we were robbed of a reunion :( He was a really tragic character. That was so sad. We didn't even see how Liu Xi reacted to his death. My heart broke for this pitiful character 😭
This was a really good and unique drama with excellent acting! It's the first time I saw Ni Ni in a drama and I fell hard for her. She's a phenomenal actress!! And Ye Liuxi is such a badass character! She definitely entered my top 3 of favorite female leads.
Also I'm a sucker for mature and natural romance! And this one is sooo good! It's sad that mature and communicative couples are so rare in Asian Dramas. That's why I'm even more pleased :)
I watched Bai Yu in "The Bond" and weirdly I didn't find him attractive back then, but here he is hot!! He's really handsome in here and I fell in love with his smile and soft lovely eyes. He's really rockin' that rough & "unkempt" appearance with a quite soft character 😊
Anyway this was a really really unique drama. Never seen anything similar in my 15 years of watching Asian dramas. While it felt a little bit slow and confusing for me in the beginning, the built-up of the story and characters were really well-written. Usually a lot of times Dramas start to fall flat in the later episodes, but I felt it became even better in the last 10 episodes! 😊

It was one of my favorite Mangas 10 years ago. Even tho I can't really remember a lot anymore, I know that I loved it.
Does anyone know when they want to broadcast the second season? It just says 2024. I'm even thinking of waiting until S2 is out as well 😂
I mean I wouldn't care if it's just weed, but Korea cares and it is illegal.
