Here it is not just cheating, but cheating with lies and manipulation. He has affairs and all and still genuinely loved FL, which I believe he does, as because of her, many of his psychological problem went away so he can't bear leave her, but at the same time he cheats and lie. But when FL has recurrences of her feelings for Detective, he plays righteous figure as if he has never done anything wrong and blames her, suspects her.
The psychologist around him has been clearly exposed to the point nothing is left and he is still in her hands...this is pathetic.

In CN television, a family like this can't be shown too much in negative space unlike Korean, so she is not going to take some loans on her daughter behalf, now she is supposedly rich as we can see she is trying to meddle in hotel business, but MCH has draw a line to make her stay away and she will do as such. As you said, YZM will live with them, and when he will eat on same table he will realize the warmth of family he never had, and it will all good, but MCH is bound to have heartbreak at one point due to YZM views on life.

Yueda Group is where ML works and he promised them to have the Xiangli hotel and go to higher position in exchange. As he is a direct decedents of Yao family and rightful owner of Xiang'li he thought grandmother will eventually give him, but little did he knew that she will give her to her step granddaughter as they both share same values.
So YG need Xiang'li so they can open new branch in place of it or upgrade Xiang'li in their own way, which grandmother opposes, as for her it is all materialism and takes away the essence of her hotel and its history.
