First off, dismissing the entire drama after one episode is just ridiculous. You’re acting like one imperfect…
aaaa...ok.

Oh, so now I’m on a "Twitter rant on steroids," huh? Funny, because last I checked, I was just calmly stating my opinion, but I guess being confident in my words is too much for some to handle. If you felt the need to turn my comment into a personal attack, that's really on you. I didn't aim to get under anyone's skin, but it seems like I succeeded in getting a reaction, which is... interesting.

As for the wrinkled collar thing, I wasn’t the one throwing it around like some kind of philosophical statement. I merely pointed out the ridiculousness of it being elevated into a deep message. If you’re going to claim I made some over-the-top challenge, maybe double-check the tone. It was a jab, sure, but it wasn’t that dramatic.

And as for your final bit, about me being a good writer but wasting my talents? That’s your opinion, and while I appreciate the compliment, I think it's a little hypocritical to call something “poorly conceived nonsense” while trying to school me on how to think. Seems like we're both putting our words to use in ways you find unfortunate. Funny how that works.

I see your point, but there’s a misunderstanding here. Stating something confidently doesn’t mean I’m forcing anyone to agree. Saying "The story has depth, the adaptation is faithful, and the acting delivers exactly what it needs to" is my assessment—it’s how I see it. That doesn’t mean others can’t have different views. Also your claim I should rewrite my comment with more subjectivity. But here’s the thing—opinions are inherently subjective, no matter how they’re phrased.

If someone objected to what you wrote based on my comment, that’s on them for taking it as an absolute truth rather than an opinion. We all interpret media differently, and discussion thrives on differing perspectives. You’re free to disagree, just as I’m free to express my thoughts as I see them. If my wording came off as too definitive, fair enough—but that doesn’t mean I was dismissing other viewpoints.

Oh wow, a list of 30 BLs? Stop the presses! The world must know! I’m sure the industry is trembling in fear, rethinking every creative decision because your sacred list of untouchable masterpieces has declared war on wrinkled fabric and stylistic choices you don’t personally approve of.

You don’t lower your standards for BL? Oh, you sweet summer child, you have no idea how much you’ve already done so. You just prefer to pretend that your arbitrary rules for “good” storytelling are universal laws instead of personal taste. But sure, keep acting like you’re the last beacon of integrity in a world filled with BL peasants, desperately clutching your holy text of BL That Meets My Standards while the rest of us enjoy watching actual stories unfold.

Oh, and thank you for your deep, investigative journalism on the state of shirt collars. Really, thank you. I had no idea that the true measure of cinematic quality was the precise tension of a tie knot. Not, you know, writing, acting, chemistry, or emotional impact—no, no, fabric stiffness is the hill to die on. And here I was, foolishly thinking that storytelling was about things like character arcs and themes. Silly me!

But the best part? You—after all this righteous, keyboard-clattering outrage—end it with “I’m a bot, don’t bother responding.” Oh, the irony. You just wrote an entire essay, throwing a tantrum over a shirt, only to then declare that responses are beneath you. Newsflash: You don’t get to rant like a Twitter thread on steroids and then act like you’re above the conversation. You are the conversation. And you lost it the moment you unironically wrote “I dare you to tell me a wrinkled collar is a designer choice.”

Now go, oh mighty protector of well-pressed fabric, and keep fighting the good fight. The fate of BL—and indeed, the very art of cinema itself—clearly rests upon the crispness of a lapel.

Episode 1: Sigh...my life is one disappointment after another. The only three countries I hope for decent BLs out…
First off, dismissing the entire drama after one episode is just ridiculous. You’re acting like one imperfect start invalidates everything the show is trying to do.

Korea has been stepping up its game in BL, and this one is no exception. The production quality alone puts it ahead of most low-budget BLs, and the acting is solid. Just because it’s not over-the-top dramatic from the start doesn’t mean the performances are bad—it means the actors are actually acting instead of over-exaggerating emotions for cheap effect.

Complaining about tropes in BL is like complaining that horror movies have jump scares. It’s part of the genre. The difference is in execution, and here, they’re being used to build tension, not just check off a list.

And the costumes? You’re focusing on the wrong details. The styling choices are deliberate. The oversized blazers, the polished-yet-subtly-messy looks—it’s all designed to reflect the characters’ personalities and social standings. If you think it’s random, you’re not paying attention.

The red lipstick complaint is just nitpicking at this point. This is a K-drama. Stylists have been using that look for years. It’s not some mistake; it’s a standard visual choice in Korean media.

Saying "everyone is gay" in a BL is the most redundant criticism ever. Of course, they’re all queer—that’s the point. This isn’t some accidental coincidence; it’s a story focused on queer relationships. If that’s an issue for you, why even watch?

The watch-breaking scene? That’s straight from the webtoon, and it actually matters. It’s a trigger point for the characters, setting up future interactions and conflicts. The fact that you’re hyper-fixating on whether luxury watches break easily instead of what the moment represents is missing the entire point.

The supposed “cock-teasing” over eleven years is exactly what makes their dynamic interesting. It’s not just empty flirting—it’s years of repressed emotions, complicated by personal struggles and misunderstandings. That’s the whole story.

The villain? He’s not just some random bad guy thrown in for drama. He serves a purpose, pushing the leads toward confrontation and resolution. Not all antagonists need to be deep from the start—sometimes, they’re there to shake things up before we fully understand them.

You’re holding this show to an impossible standard while ignoring everything it’s actually doing well. The story has depth, the adaptation is faithful, and the acting is delivering exactly what it needs to. If you refuse to see that, maybe the problem isn’t the show—it’s how you’re watching it.
On ThamePo Heart That Skips a Beat Feb 28, 2025
Love is the invisible thread that binds two souls, pulling them closer even when the world tries to tear them apart. It weaves through their hearts, unbreakable in its quiet strength, defying time, distance, and doubt. It is not merely a fleeting feeling but a force—gentle yet unyielding, fragile yet indestructible.

No matter how far they stray, love finds a way to bring them back, whispering in the silence, lingering in the spaces between words. It is in the way their hands reach for each other without thinking, in the way their hearts beat in sync even when apart. Love does not demand; it simply exists, wrapping them in its embrace, refusing to let go.

The letter he wrote carried more than just words—it carries a piece of the soul that wrote it. When love feels too vast to be spoken, it spills onto paper, ink weaving emotions that tremble between hope and heartbreak. A letter is a confession, a silent plea, a bridge between hearts separated by circumstance.

Every word written is a touch that cannot reach, a whisper that cannot be heard, yet its presence lingers. It holds the weight of longing, the ache of unsaid words, the promise of a love that refuses to fade. And even if the hands that receive it tremble with uncertainty, the heart that reads it will always know—it was never just a letter. It was love, waiting to be felt.

I know it’s all in books and novels, and life isn’t that dramatic or poetic. Love doesn’t always come wrapped in grand gestures or beautifully written letters. But still, there’s something about these stories that speaks to us, something that makes us yearn for a love that feels boundless, unshaken by time or distance.

Maybe reality is quieter, messier—less like ink on paper and more like fleeting moments that slip through our fingers. But deep down, we all need this. Even if it only exists in books, in novels, in fantasy, we hold onto it because it reminds us of what love could be. And sometimes, that’s enough.
