I honestly felt nothing from this one, maybe annoyed because it played on every single Japan BL trope out there? it feels like one of those one-time consumable Japan BLs that you completely forget days after finishing it. not bad, not good either.
Not bad, there’s good acting here and there, though I felt it kinda dragged on at the later eps. Also got frustrated by the poor communication between the two boys, but what is a BL without a miscommunication trope?
Absolutely beautiful! My favorite was the development of the character of Donghee, who I felt was too one-dimensional in ULS. personally I couldn't stand Donghee in ULS but I absolutely loved how fleshed out he was here in the prequel. and Dowoo KILLED his part --- I also didn't expect that since his acting in ULS was quite subpar. And Taemin was just fun to watch as always.
Though I feel that The Time of Fever would work better as a whole movie, there was no need to break it into small pieces...
truly solid, A-grade production value, I'll give it that. But the pacing needs a whole lot of improvement... when the last three episodes ended I was like, "that's it?" because it felt like little to nothing happened in the whole ep?
But I'm confused. At first I thought they were a couple because he introduced him as his partner but also all…
I think those two are just hiding it given the fact that they are teachers surrounded by young students, and one of them was flirting with Jenny just to make his partner jealous (couples do that sometimes to test each other). Jenny was just completely oblivious to the situation yet already hinted (by her remarks on that teacher's rainbow mug) that if these two guys are in fact in a relationship, she won't oppose it.
Taiwanese BLs definitely have the best OSTs. "First Note of Love" has the best I've heard this year so far. I'm still not sold though on the pairing between Charles and Michael.
The sudden appearance of Orca in that live performance was so weird though. Did he literally just appear out of nowhere??
What's wrong with guys at this age start growing facial hairs
I can't explain it but the stubble on Dongqin is def not the stubble of a 17-year old boy lol the stubble of a growing boy looks "softer" (?), the one I saw was real rough
While the actors playing the two leads are very believable as high school students, they could've spent more budget hiding Dongqin's 5 o'clock shadow... it looks prominent in some scenes in the last two eps and it just shatters my illusion lol
would've given it a 10/10 if every contestant got his fair share of the spotlight... it focused too much on DaiShun (even Kazuto). I understand it's because they're the only ones who actually ended up as a couple but still, the other contestants had their own charms and unfortunately we didn't see much of them (Taeheon for example)
People are hating on Taichi's actor because he's over the top??? I actually thought he gave the finest performance in a JBL this year. I can't wait to hear what you guys will say when you watch more Japanese dramas lol
Watching this made me want to go back to Kaohsiung, tbh. I also found out just now that the guy playing Sea was not the same guy playing Ever 9 in AntiReset lol
Am i the only one who personally finds people are over baby-ing SJ and Hwi just because they arent picked by who…
This is so so true. I'm seeing a lot of people who are blasting this show just because nobody was interested in Seungjin. Was this show supposed to be all about him? Lmao
I'm gonna pretend Ep. 14 wasn't real because I felt that it shattered all the illusions of reality we've had in Eps. 1-13, it was sooo scripted. Nevertheless, I felt that this was the saddest of the three seasons: S1 was funny, S2 was very tense, and S3 was quite an emotional ride. This is actually the first time I've shed actual tears for a reality dating show lmao.
Overall I think this was a solid season, and those who keep disparaging it just don't understand that this is how relationships go. Watching too many BLs really did something to your minds and it's so obvious. It's not all butterflies and rainbows for LGBTQ+ relationships. Although I have to admit that I really hated how they kept spotlighting the love triangle. Jaeseung, Hwi and Seongmin are always at the center of it all that halfway through the show you just get sick of them (Hwi, however, was freaking adorable when outside of that triangle). They didn't leave much screentime for the other contestants and I found that rather unfair.
I think everybody agrees that Hwi and Seungjin are the highlights of this season. I'm quite surprised that these maknaes behaved more maturely than the older ones in the house. Then there's the very unproblematic and amiable Minseon who filled the house with brightness, the awkward Myeongkyun who had the best character arc in the show, the entertainer of the year Youngjoon who seem to keep moving around and about the house, and the very caring Hanmin whose designated role in the house is to just listen to people's problems. There are faults to some of these contestants that's for sure, but don't these faults make us human?
While I still think that S2 was the best of the lineup, the contestants in S3 had more depth in them and their emotions were really on full display. I just wish we could've seen more of them because I'm pretty sure that would change our perspectives of these men. I hope that the next season (they hinted at one at the ending of Ep. 3) will avoid focusing too much on just one couple/throuple.
