omg episode 28 and 29 , I bawled my eyes out 🥹🥹🥹. That hug between JZ and the mom , they both needed it. I was frustrated with her at first but when she explained and reflected on it , it change my perspective. She was definitely one of the first adults who failed JZ but characters development it is.
On one side, you have a 19–20-year-old girl who is still discovering herself and learning how the world works. She was sheltered her entire life and only truly began to “see the world” when she went to find him. Slowly, everything in her life started revolving around him. Her studies, her decisions almost all of them were made with him in mind. Her world became him.
At 19 or 20, she was just stepping into real life. She was young, with so much left to discover and accomplish. Then everything collapsed at once: her mother, in another country, became seriously ill and might have been dying, and at the same time, Jin Zhao was in an accident and might not survive either. Jin Zhao didn’t know if he would ever walk again. JM’s mother was in a similar life-or-death situation.
Faced with that reality, Jin Zhao made a decision that was both selfish and selfless. JM’s world was already falling apart; any rational person would have told her to go be with her mother. Jin Zhao understood the possibility that he might be permanently disabled. Would it really be fair to place that burden on a 19–20-year-old girl who had her entire life ahead of her?
Yes, love matters but let’s be realistic. She would have dropped everything, put her life on pause, and sacrificed her future for him. He didn’t want that for her. As he said in episode 24, she was too young, and he couldn’t do that to her.
That said, it wasn’t his decision to make alone. He should have talked to her, explained his reasons, and been honest. Instead, he ignored her and let everyone lie to her about him. That was his mistake. He was wrong for handling it that way.
But letting her go? That part was right.
There’s also pride, ego, and dignity involved. He didn’t want her to see him in that state. He wanted to heal. He wanted to become the best version of himself for her. Unlike her, he didn’t grow up sheltered he had to figure things out on his own, and he carried his own pain and struggles. He wanted to prove that he was worthy of her, to the world and to her mother.
His lack of maturity made him hurt her deeply, and you can see that he carries guilt over it. He didn’t act perfectly but his intentions weren’t cruel. They were complicated, flawed, and human.
I think she needed that separation to grow and find herself, even though it was painful. All of her decisions were based on him literally everything. The same thing happened in Sniper Butterfly with the ML. On top of that, dealing with a sick mother and a sick boyfriend in two different countries would have been extremely hard. Having to choose between her boyfriend and her mother at that age is like her whole world collapsing. I agree with him letting her go but I don’t agree with everything he did.
This is a chess game, and XHA and YFS are the players. When you play chess to win, you don’t defeat your opponent in a single move. You advance step by step, using your pieces against theirs, sacrificing and capturing until the endgame. The side characters represent the pieces on the board one by one, they are eliminated on both sides as the game progresses. This was only the second time XHA and YFS met , yet on both occasions, XHA walked away alive. Like in chess, the real confrontation is delayed while the board is slowly cleared. This drama will either end with one player standing as the winner, or with a draw where both sides fall and no one truly wins.
fr! She's so cute and she's portraying the character perfectly how its written in novel - soft and sweet, a 20…
people are just haters for no reason 😪, Esther is a good actress, she just chooses to play similar roles , very cute innocent naive girl. It seems to be her preference and there’s no issue with that. I also agree, she’s portraying the character perfectly.
The story was pretty good up until they lost Chang'an to YFS. Like…wtf is happening? Did they really believe…
ML explained that his sister was most likely already mixed up with YFS. They had people outside the city who verified that it was indeed YFS; at first, it really was him, and at some point along the way, he was somehow switched with his sister.
Episodes 15–16 mention the issue of backup. They had no real reinforcements only the 1,000 soldiers ( part of them already died btw) under Gu Yu’s command, which was far from enough. The rest of his army was stationed at the border and could only be summoned to defend the throne ( rule established by previous emperor). If Gu Yu had suggested mobilizing that force, the emperor would have seen it as a threat. Even if Gu Yu was “on his side,” human nature is fickle, and no one can be trusted 100%. This lack of trust had already been shown multiple times in earlier episodes.
XHA is driven by revenge; it is his primary goal. Although he possesses wisdom, he is ultimately blinded by his desire for revenge and therefore makes mistakes. No plan is perfect, and no strategy is flawless.
I think these mistakes show that everyone is human and that there is no perfect plan or perfect strategy. Even intelligent people can make questionable decisions. For example, the sister should not have been left alone to go back to her family; XHA was very stubborn about this and refused to tell her the truth, even though she had already been dragged into the situation. WP was also a very good strategist, yet he was fooled by XHA, just look at how he died. No matter how much wisdom or intelligence you have, you are still human.
13 - Now An has officially nothing to lose and that when people be the most dangerous. as for episode 14 , I thought we lost my man for good, they got me there , I really thought he started hallucinating his sister and was talking to her 😭😭. That the last thing he need right now.
😂😂😂 this was the other way around in Xukai x Jing tian drama😭😭 I was so frustrated with both of…
omggg hahahahah, I love xukai but that one ruin the whole drama for me. I refuse to watch it again 😂😂 He work his way up to get to the throne with fl by his side supporting him . He literally became the emperor just for him to give it up to go live on some dirty ass country side farm 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ make it make sense 😭😭😂😂😂.

If he succeeds and keep on living, I think it’s gonna be unbearable for him.
