He didn't take the book. He was burying the book. It mirrored the current time frame scene of SY reburying the…
Because it was never explained how the Book of Spells got buried in the Jang Clan's property. The last time we saw it, the royal family was trying to get hold of it to use for their own advantage. Mu Jin was even captured with it. The epilogue simply tells us that Mu Jin managed to keep it safe. Perhaps the box that was under his possession when he got captured was fake. That all along, he secured Aeng Cho's books and after the dust has settled, he orchestrated his next meeting with her by burying those books in his property and by building a shrine around it with a Shaman and his male descendants to take care of it.As to why no one could open it but Hong Jo in the present life, this connects to the talismans Mu Jin placed on the box. The past life has never mentioned that only Aeng Cho can open the box. Precisely why MuJin was able to open it and secure her books to safety. But once the box was sealed again by talismans (check the opened box when Mu Jin was trying to bury it, talismans were plastered all over its inner side), then only its owner -Aeng Cho/Hong Jo could reopen it.

This begs the question, how could Mu Jin get hold of talismans?

Remember, the old Shaman that raised Aeng Cho was still alive, and it's implied that she's the first shaman of the Jang Clan's shrine, and also the past life of Shaman Eun Wol. She must have cast the spell on it that's why its power remains strong in the present time. This is also the reason why Shaman Eun Wol knows who the owner of the box is.

Did anyone here watch My Lovely Liar? They totally reused the Tiffany wedding rings from that show here!
Wow! I didn't notice!! I just checked and they're actually the same line.

Well, I'm not sure about reusing but Rowoon is the official brand ambassador of Tiffany and Co. and they sponsored this drama. The bracelets are also from their line. Perhaps MLL's stylist just used T&C's too. And if indeed they're reused, MLL reused it apparently because they shot the finale in August whereas DWY filmed it in May.

Anyways, I love both shows and I'm so happy about this connection! 😍 Thank you for your eagle eyes.

Anyone knows which drama will replace Destined With You drama slot?
Hi, for future reference, Asianwiki has this feature where they put what the drama replaced and which one will replace it in its timeslot.

As for DWY, no info about its replacement has been added so JTBC must have used its timeslot to stretch the other shows' schedules.

Does anyone know the name of the song playing around minute 40:20 in episode 16?
Sadly it's not released yet. Maybe it will be launched along with the official launching of the OST album
They're currently accepting pre-orders.

How Eun wol halmoni is related to Shin-yu and his family?also EP16 ending credits is very confusing T_T
She's the appointed Shaman for the temple.
The Jang Clan has to protect the temple including the Shaman.
That's why they are close also.
She also happens to be the reincarnation of the old Shaman that adopted Aeng Cho.

Ep 16 epilogue basically tells us that Jang Mu Jin was able to protect the original books of spells that Aeng Cho had written. The royal family did not get hold of it
And it was him who buried the box with the spells in his land. So he basically was so hopeful that him and Aeng Cho would meet again in their next life that he built a shrine where he buried the box in and tasked his male descendants to protect it no matter what.

It also circles back to ep 1 where Mu Jin, through Shin Yu found the box himself.

I think it was a glimpse from the past (see the injury in his face, it's same after that snow fighting scene)…
Thank you for this!
I have this thought in my head with regard to the epilogue. It feels refreshing to be somehow validated. Like wow, we got it. 😂

It was Shin Yu who found the box when he stayed late to guard the demolition process. (This is also why in the epilogue, we saw Jang Mu Jin with the box on the ground, presumably telling us that he was the one who buried it as it was never revealed how the Book of Spells managed to be kept within the Jang property. The last time we saw it was when Mu Jin got captured by the royal guards).

He then called Shaman Eun Wol to inquire about it and the latter said she's not the owner of the box and hinted that he already knows who the owner is. The first person that popped in his head was Hong Jo.

What made their love so special?

They navigated through a heartbreak and loss together.
Mu Jin- his Mom's death, and Aeng Cho who was then nameless- her life altogether (as she was made to live with the old Shaman, had to "kill" her old self in order to survive). Pain was amplified considering that they were just kids then.

They've been together until adulthood. Whatever happened between those time periods, is enough to make one understand that the love they had for each other was so special.
They were each other's confidante. Remember, they both lived different lives but they still managed to be there for each other, to console and support when needed.
Their foundation is very solid that the hope to meet again in their next life and be happy together was too believable and convincing.

The SFL literally collaborated with a murderer, how could you like her? lol
I think Yura's been getting typecasted.
Her character here is pretty similar in Forecasting Love and Weather, and also reminiscent of that in Radio Romance

He also did so well in SHE WOULD NEVER KNOW.
That was one good office romance with mature storyline.

Something must be wrong with me. I'm even jealous of the lady who was stopping rowoon from entering the ward.
Pretty valid. She managed to hug him in the process.

@yseult No the writing and direction is all over the place.. production team should stick to just one genre as…
The first visitor died because of his own negligence. He stepped on something, presumably a bottle, which rolled and caused him to fall and hit his head on another object. The area, when wet, is slippery too. Even Hong Jo slid and fell on her back the first time she visited the shrine. While it wasn't explained in full, the Gardener is presumably from the lineage of his past life. Just like how Shin Yu is a direct descendant of Jang Mu Jin.Hence, he's into black spells because his ascendants were doing that too. Were the talismans taoist though? Those kind of talismans are what Korean shamans are known to be using. Yellow talismans with red marks have been quite commonly shown in k-dramas as well. Besides, these shamans date back to pre-Joseon dynasty, where Korea still uses the Chinese language. So the markings on the talismans even until today are in Chinese.

Why did sin yu stabbed hong jo in past life
Mercy killing. There is no way Aeng Cho could escape again from the royal guards.
They were about to dismember her with bulls and horses. Mu Jin couldn't bear the thought of it.

The drama completely forgot about the spell book and black magic in the last 4-5 episodes. How did the stalker…
The gardener and KJK are also the reincarnation of their past lives although they're not meant to remember it. They just continue doing what their old selves have been doing as it's the same soul (just like Hong Jo being so nice yet has no family like Aeng Cho and how Shin Yu is so upright and very intelligent like Mu Jin).

In the present, the Gardener is still into black spells and dark magic like his old self (a Shaman who casted black spell on the Crown Prince and killed him) while KJK is still very loyal to the higher authority he is serving-- here, the Mayor, in the past-- the King. The difference is that the Mayor got revealed to be corrupt whereas the King then was genuinely trying to protect the Kingdom from Aeng Cho who was thought to have killed the CP.

And the other person who remembers the past life was Shaman Eun Wol herself. She's the reincarnation of the old shaman who took Aeng Cho under her wing.

HJ knows that they can only catch Na Jeong Beom if she's the trap herself. It's been weeks since the police and their own private guards have been searching for him, but nothing happened.
They can't live in fear forever.

When the grandfather finally confessed to HJ about NJB's plan, HJ took it as the sign she's been waiting for to finally catch NJB.
Of course, she was pretty confident it wouldn't be that bad considering that the old man will notify the police ASAP and she has her smartwatch and defensive tools witn her.
She perhaps didn't think that NJB's plan was to kill her all along.
Maybe she assumed he won't hurt her.
But oh well, NJB was a total psycho.
