Seoul is quite far from the sea. People who do not have cars have to use the bus or trains if they intend to go farther.

For Gregorian Calendar New Year's Eve, since most of them are not celebrating it in a Christian way, they'd rather use it as vacation time for family or loved ones, so they'd usually go hiking in the mountains or visit the sea.
That particular beach spot they used is quite popular for NY sunrise watching too.

If you paid attention in the previous episodes, they always tell Manager Ma where they're off to, whether it be going out for lunch or going to a diffeent department, or heading out for a task.For sure she did the same thing here especially after submitting an Explanation for abandoning work (with Shin Yu). She didn't want to cause trouble.

There are also areas which are traditionally known for being a certain spot for a particular occasion. That's why the 3 meeting in that particular area isn't too shocking.

South Koreans also spend the Gregorian calendar New Year differently. You have families who just either visit the mountains or go to the beach on NY like how it's depicted in the series. Meanwhile, their Lunar New Year is more festive and a big gathering of families.

It's quite common though to invite an acquaintance for a meal if you're unexpectedly in the same place. This is quite common trait in Asia.

Also, Hong Joo has moved past that "crush" stage. At that point, they were already good friends and neighbors. Only the viewers (and I guess, Jaegyeong too) are bent on the "crush" thing when in their timeline, it's been over 3 months when that "confession" happened.

I also don't understand the hate. The writing is pretty impressive thus far. Non-linear, and it keeps you guessing.
The actors have embodied their roles so well and I don't remember any of their past characters with their portrayal here. They're really THAT good.
And I also like the hue used by the director. It's warm and cool to the eyes at the same time.

Idol Rowoon hits different though. He's a lead vocalist of SF9 but technique-wise, he could pass as a Main vocalist too. 😍Yet he's actually part of dance team.

Yes but during the Joseon Dynasty, it was prohibited as it goes against the teachings of Buddhism, if my memory serves me right.

I also thought that the killing might be because of the anti-shamanism protocol in Joseon era and Mr. Jang might have to enforce it against Aeng Cho.

Him being not in an acting agency is also a factor. Unless he's under those like JYP Entertainment who has NPIO Entertainment which also produces big-budget dramas now (King the Land, The Red Sleeve).

Acting agencies work differently than idol agencies. If you notice, main leads usually have a few labelmates in the cast too. Acting agencies just love doing tagged agreements so actors from smaller companies barely get a chance.
