The only thing I hated is how he easily moved on. I made peace that their love is bound to fail, but the guy easily jumped to his next relationship and even proposed right away while the woman who’s been with him only had to make do of his “Lao po”s but never even gotten her a ring to seal the deal. It was all she ever wanted, and he could tell, but no, he refused to satisfy her dream.

I loved everything about the storytelling.

It was engaging, honest, raw, and they kept everything real especially Xu Ruohan’s delivery of a bright, young girl having experiencing her first love. Dare I say, she really excels in her ability to keep things natural.


The title pretty much sums it all, but I was grateful that movie allowed us to throughly see how things went wrong. The misgivings, resentments, unsatisfied dreams, tired heart who’s always hoping, reaching… everything about this is just so human. Very relatable, sometimes hits close to home.

That’s why I’m so sooo proud of JY for managing to let him go and never looked back. Now she can fill her life with the things she missed from her youth because of him

you’re still at ep 30. you would understand why people called it poor writing after you finish ep 40. Nonetheless, it’s still a nice show.

The poor writing always gets talked about on Reddit. Discussions there are more level-headed as not too many biased fans.

Not so sure about that but they still count the online streams for sure. iQIYI still keeps updating about The Best Thing still ranks on top.

Riiiight? To the point that they now have a separate full-length drama together. They just jad their booting ceremony today for Love Story In Summer 😍

There are parts that she and Linghe dubbed, but check the full
cast. Li Min is listed as Shen Xi Fan’s voice actor and Yi Fan as He Su Ye’s. Yi Fan is the go-to voice actor of Linghe as they have similar voice, he also dubs him in Pursuit of Jade.

This drama’s formula really hooks those who aren’t fond of this kind of genre. The way it was initially presented was like a form of art that’s why international viewers really adored it. But for people who’ve been watching historical dramas for so long, the writing in this is just so annoying especially the political part where they didn’t fully thresh out what happened or if they did, the impact was low considering the expectation. Still, kudos to the team for the achievements. I just hope new fans wouldn’t gloss over the actos’ other projects just because they’re stuck with PoJ. I can already see a lot of new PoJ CP fans wrecking havoc in The Best Thing and Overdo pages/edits.

It’s leaning to a BL route. The government isn’t fond of this genre and BL releases recently made the actors cancelled for some reason. If Eternal Faith will be released, it will do more harm than good especially that the actors already made a name for themselves. They filmed that when they were relatively industry rookies who kept accepting dramas offered to them for experience.

With how PoJ was written poorly, I’m quite scared for this drama. I hope the screenwriter has improved.
