Yes, she's way younger than ML in her current life. From what I remember in my own calculations (it was never disclosed), perhaps about 9 years. ML was born in 1989 and the current life of FL started in 1998.

It's worth the watch, really. Overall, it's a good material with a solid plot, or so I thought.

The drama started REALLY STRONG, one of the strongest first two episodes in a while, but then the momentum wasn't sustained.


We usually have this problem with dramas having at least 16 episodes, but this 12-episode drama is suffering from that.
So I guess you kinda know what to expect.

Everyone in the show is familiar by the way, so that perhaps led me to have high expectations but sadly, this show was underwhelming.


Ha Yoon Kyung plays as the FL's sister. I think you'll love her here. She pretty nailed the synchronization with her younger version, and she's sooo cute in her-- personality, outfit, and hairstyle!

To be honest, I'm kinda reeling on the possibility that he really did kill her like how it's been portrayed in the teasers.
The writer might go full throttle on the mystery part of the series since we already got the romance part. 😂

And that's why the case got dismissed. There were a lot of issues in the case, among others--- Illegal Arrest (he got arrested for Murder when no body was found yet), and lack of evidence especially after Seung Ju recanted his statement of confession to the crime.

That's why his Mom is pretty confident when he told him that it will be okay, and that they're getting a good lawyer.

At this point, all I'm going to believe is Yoon Ji On's script choice. I don't think he got casted just to become the CEO that he is. I feel that there's more layers to peel in DukChan.

This could be another 'Tomorrow'. There, he seemed like just another side kick to the main leads but it turned out his character got one of, if not the most endearing backstory and started the series of plot twists.

And wow, the headaches. Should we just ignore that? He got them after confirming that Do Ha and Solhee are dating. He even lied about congratulating them for their new relationship.

What's funnier is that another drama just started airing with the title "My Lovely Boxer".

She was busy with the gang members though. I don't think she was involved. Ep 1 opens to a scene of her driving all the way from Seoul to that abandoned building. Then she swiftly finished her case and checked in to a motel to watch the football game. It didn't seem like there was enough time for her to be near the ocean where the girlfriend was, or be where Seung Ju was moments after she passed by him.

Butttt if Seol Hee had dinner by the ocean first before going to the abandoned building, then perhaps it's possible?

Ohhhh this truly makes sense! It would also make sense that deliberate shot made for CEO after he found out about his wife cheating on him. I mean, they didn't have to prolong that part but they did.

To me, it felt like his reckoning that his efforts of protecting jis family (and the company) is useless.
So I thought it was solely because of his wife's infidelity.

But if your theory is indeed correct, then it would be more believable and plausible.

Not everyone is the same. This may not be your kind of romance but to some people, it is.
Romance doesn't have to be intense, especially at the start. As long as romance is felt, it's romance nonetheless, regardless of which form.

We could also look at it positively. More viewers came in between the gap of ep 8 and ep 9 and voted but not necessarily to down vote MLL. They simply did not know how their votes could affect the overall score.

It could also be a translation issue though. There are a lot of nuances in the Korean language that are hard to translate in English.
No jurisdiction would charge a person with Murder right away especially without proving the death of the victim.

But your query actually makes sense. Allow me to explain.


Initially, the series was very spot on in emphasizing that it was a Missing Person case, DoHa was merely questioned as he was the last person seen with the victim before being missing.

However in ep 9, we saw him being arrested for Murder (issue no. 1).

Then, during police the questioning, he suddenly said that he killed her. This admission got him charged for Murder (issue no. 2).

Since there was no dead body found, the only evidence they have against him is his statement for the crime of Murder. And then he recanted it, so the police was left without any evidence.

Now, remember what Do Ha's Mom said about hiring a good lawyer.
Any lawyer can make this case be dismissed actually for the ff reasons:

1. He got illegally arrested (granted that the translations we got were right). The case then wasn't one for Murder yet he was arrested for it. He should have been invited for investigation first and then that's the time that they check on his properties as well (his tshirt with the gf's blood on it was found which made him the no. 1 suspect, hence the arrest). The cops were wrong for doing so.

Also, it is implied that they illegally searched his properties where that blood-stained shirt was found, when in fact they had no authority yet to do so.
For an illegal search, any evidence found is inadmissible in evidence.

So, the prosecution now has no evidence (shirt), plus the police illegally arrested him.

2. His admission of guilt was made not in the presence of a lawyer, plus he recanted it.
Even without this factor, the no. 1 reason alone can make the case dismissed.

So, no, admission of guilt also.

Hence, the case was easily dismissed.

However, considering the popularity of the issue, Do Ha instead had a trial by publicity with all the media attention surrounding this. So that's that.




Well, the point of all this, apart from the fact that I'm bored, is that the kdrama writer may have wanted to spoonfeed us with the details but perhaps he/she was also facing some limitations, maybe owing to the direction that the director wanted to go (details might disrupt the flow), or maybe they just wanted us to think, like what we're all doing now. 😂


Anyway, that's my piece. I hope I made sense.

Personally, I find it more comforting to watch an on-going kdrama after a break because of interactions like this.
Story-wise, this is not bad for a kdramaland's welcome to you.
Relationship between the leads were developed organically, cinematography and story shows how the PD made efforts into making this.
Overall, it's a good mystery and romance series.

At this point, the biggest clue to me is that they casted Yoon Ji On for this role. There's no way he's just gonna be a plain support role. For sure there's more to this character for him to accept.

Also, just sharing, before MLL was filmed, Yoon Ji On just finished filming with Kim So Hyun for Is It Fate. He has the main male lead role there along with Chae Jong Hyeop, soooo there's no way he's going down the ladder career-wise, unless of course, he accepted this for other good reasons. Like he really likes to be part of this considering they're friends with Sohyun in real life too and the PD is notable for his works.

Ohhhhh that makes sense! Perhaps that's why he's now living in seclusion.

Imagine if he really has this, he must be having a daily headache when his wife eventually became a con artist. The bells! I just cant 😂😂

And considering how blunt the Mom is, he must have fallen in love with her because of her honesty. Awww cue parents' substory!
