I watched this as it aired but I can still remember how much I liked this before but could have liked it even more if not for the FL. Her character was just too much for me— loud, voracious, and just basically needed a chill pill.
Fyi, the female lead just won the Halyu Best actress award in Seoul International Film 2020. Son Ye Jin is very…
Same! City Hunter was his best drama. Everyone delivered in that series. The Legend of the Blue Sea comes close too. However, in terms of story, I would have wanted Faith to come in at second place, but the FL ruined that a bit for me.
Put this off for a while because as a Catholic myself, the teasers made me think this series is sacrilegious. Gave it a try months later and voila! Easily one of, if not the best comedy series I’ve watched in the history of K-drama.
Kim Nam Gil truly made up for his lackluster performance in ‘Live Up To Your Name’ through his performance in this drama and the rest of the cast truly gave out their A- game. This show definitely deserved all the awards and hype they received. Truly highly recommended!
is there have any change to come moon lovers session 2?
Let’s not get our hopes up as all the cast became extremely popular. Their schedule is on fire. It might be hard for the production crew to settle everyone’s personal schedules for a reunion season.
I’ve watched this just a month ago and I could no longer remember the romantic scenes that were shared by the FL and ML. The things that lasted in my memory though were the awesome storytelling of how Historians work behind the scenes, the great sceneries when they went to Pyeongyang, and how amazing Lee Ji Hoon’s and the Crown Prince’s characters were.
This definitely is a breath of fresh air. It’s edited in a way that it’s pleasant to the eyes. Feels like spring and summer in every episode.
It is unfortunate that KSH doesn't seem to like this show :( If you read his interviews, he seldom ever talks…
Really? I thought he liked CTG so much that he even used his CTG behind the scene photo as his Kakao talk profile picture for almost a year since the show ended.
Can someone tell me what the writer was thinking when they wrote out SFL?? It started out as a cold hearted detective…
IKR. The Writer did Ma Ri dirty. She was my favorite on the show. I just felt like the Writer wanted to push Ji Seok and Yoo Ryung so much that she had to set Ma Ri aside, in a cruel way/ :(
Nonetheless, I’m still satisfied with the ending, just not the loveline.
Honestly, despite how cute they were, I would have wanted that there wasn’t any romance between them. Maintaining a senior-junior relationship would have fit better. But that’s only my personal take.
What a very clever writing and stellar acting! This, people, is how a drama should be. The amalgamation of all the top ingredients turned this into a masterpiece.
I may have boarded a different romantic ship but the ending satisfied me nonetheless. The FL’s character still doesn’t sit well with me and I kinda feel bad that she ended up with the show’s greatest character.
Overall, what matters is that the issues were all resolved and the story arcs were well-delivered. Makes me question why this drama didn’t receive the hype that it deserved. All thanks to SeonHo’s skyrocketing popularity, this show has been given another chance to prove how well-done it is.
P.S. To my favorite character, Ma Ri. I am rooting for you! You are not alone, sweetie. You’ve done great and will continue to prove to everyone your brilliance and competence.
Unpopular opinion: I don’t understand all the praises for Shin hye sun’s acting. I understand it is supposed…
You’re not alone! I guess it gets better as the show progresses because you would get used to her acting and would eventually appreciate it. As for me, it really took me a while to laugh on her scenes as it felt contrived.
I may be in the minority on this one but I did not really enjoy the comical part of this drama. The humor was off for me, especially at the start. It just got better in the later episodes. Perhaps because I’m a fan of serious sageuks like Six Flying Dragons and the like that it was hard to get used to the funny scenes here. Nonetheless, I still found the show enjoyable for the most part although it would have been better wrapped up at 16 episodes. The last 2 episodes were very refreshing too as I feel stuffed already with the palace scenes. Watching great sceneries made up for all of my nitpicking.
Overall, it’s a pretty good show. I just didn’t understand the hype. I can’t seem to relate for some reason.

Overall, it’s still a fun and interesting drama.
