Just stopping by to say that 5 years later, I'm debating on rewatching it since I remember it as being an incredibly…
Sadly, Netflix Philippines already removed this last December. I wanted to rewatch the episodes or the whole thing but looks like I have to resort to illegal means.
Hey guys i have a question. So my friend really likes reading manhwas (especially historical ones) and she wanted…
For historical dramas with almost perfect historical accuracy plus top-notch acting and big-scale production, ‘Six Flying Dragons’ will always be the drama to go.
Yes, Kim So Hyun played both the Queen and the Princess’ older version. The Princess’ striking resemblance…
The part was initially offered to Son Ye Jin but she declined due to schedule conflict.
But I think they tweaked the drama into becoming more realistic— history wise. Back then, Queens are married off very young, some are just a little over becoming capable of pregnancy. So it’s not really surprising that some have 10yr old or so children when they’re still in mid or early 20s.
Can't wait to see hundreds of people rating the drama after watching the plot, then have different thoughts after…
Haha that’s why I’m holding my horses despite my great hopes for this drama. I don’t want it to be another Emperor: Owner of the Mask where the writer butchered Kim So Hyun’s character.
I’m so infused on the first episode. So the Queen was Kim So Hyun? The princess is also Kim So Hyun? I’m so…
Yes, Kim So Hyun played both the Queen and the Princess’ older version. The Princess’ striking resemblance to the late Queen is an integral arc of the story.
Goshhhh the first episode was truly explosive!!! What a big-scale production and everyone’s acting was soooo ON POINT. I hope the writing can sustain this momentum.
I came fully knowing that Yoo Ah In’s character- Tae In is mute in this film but I didn’t even notice that there was no dialogue between Tae In and the other characters at all. Yoo Ah In’s acting made you feel like there were lines passed along from his lips directed to those he interacted with. He just drew you in. He excellently made it possible to understand all his gazes, actions, emotions, and thought process WITHOUT. UTTERING. A. SINGLE. WORD.
The movie was really amazing in all its rawness and “purity” but it left scars on me, thinking about the most possible end to the siblings.
What is your view on how often they meet in Switzerland? Because Seri said it was her happiest two weeks during…
I still think it’s two weeks a year. Initially I thought it could be more frequent than that basing on Manager’s Hong’s statement too, but what Seri said to the Swiss artist she met at the piano concert venue was a dead giveaway— “ for me, these are the best two weeks of the year”.
Perhaps Manager Hong remarked “Switzerland again?” (I forgot the exact words) was because she kept going there, annually, for two weeks which, is a lot of time away from work. Plus before reuniting with Jeong Hyeok, Seri had been traveling to Switzerland whenever she gets the chance to be off work, hoping to meet JH there. Those personal trips (in the guise of being business trips) were more than twice a year which she did for at least 2 years before finally reuniting with JH.
It must have bugged the employees why she kept going to Switzerland of all places.
The problem in this is that I’ve seen several projects of Han Ji Min and she uses the same acting style each time, that I find watching her in this- annoying. On the other hand, Hyun Bin’s acting really pulls you in and controls you even, but HJM sadly didn’t do any of that for me.
Overall, it’s an okay drama. It fits Hyun Bin and HJM, actually. But of course, the writer could have done better.
I think its nothing big I mean if you have seen there's that past story where Seri was left alone at beach by…
That’s a very good question. I also thought about it as it always interests me how psychologically- challenged minds work. My take on it was that, she already loved Seri and was seriously considering her as her own, but doing so made her feel like crap, her pride couldn’t take the fact that she has learned to love the fruit of the relationship that made her suffer. The only solution to relieve her of the humiliation and pain was to end her life, but she knows that Seri is already very attached to her so she wanted to end both of their lives, separately. Sparing Seri from seeing her actually die.
But part of me also thinks that her primary objective was to get rid of herself and Seri- her dying and Seri missing. I couldn’t quite choose which one seems more plausible but either way works.

I hope I made sense hahaha.
