Started watching this series. Watched the first episode (comedy is good, enjoyable so far) I get that the ML will…
If you're looking for paragons of virtue and models of positive behaviour, you'll be hard pressed to find any in this series. Everyone is messed up in one way or another. Just be aware that there's a huge character development over the course of the series, and the dark introductions to some of the characters are supposed to form the basis for that. But if you still dislike the characters by episode 5, then this series probably isn't for you.
If China cannot do it, then I really hope South Korea steps up and produces a full 16 episode BL drama with the…
Unfortunately South Korea is still too traditional and conservative. The reason why their BL dramas are often so short and low budget is because none of the big sponsors want anything to do with BL. And that's also somewhat the problem in China. Yes, their wuxia and historical dramas have a grandeur and epicness that few other countries can match, but a true, uncensored historical/wuxia BL probably wouldn't get the same budget. Just look at "Meet You At the Blossom".
I guess I'm not familiar enough with how the Chinese legal system works when it comes to tax evasion, so I find…
I also don't think "bail" is a universal thing. In my country you can't pay money to get released, the system works differently than in the USA even if it's a western country.
Episode 23's jail arc is very much NEEDED to be part of the show because it beautifully portrays WSW and CC's…
THIS! Everything (well, most things) in the series are there for a reason, not just to add pointless drama but to show-not-tell how much getting close to each other has changed both of them, and to eventually strengthen them. (I do feel that having the Wang brothers show up again in the last episode was too much pointless drama, though 😅)
can someone tell me if the snakes in this series—especially the one always coiled around Chi Cheng’s hand—are…
There's BTS of the scene where WSW is being strangled by Da Huanglong (the big yellow snake) and he really has that snake wrapped around his neck, although it's not very interested in choking him so it keeps trying to slide away from him so they have to keep dragging it back 😂 That scene is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrdRrLjPSTg
There’s differing opinions about no. 1: In the novel it seems like WZ treats WSW as a younger brother and admires…
She says she got together with him because he was good-looking, although I think it's more like he was a good-looking ATM 😂 But when the series begins he had let himself go, and also hadn't made much of himself, still working in low-end jobs and being prudent about spending money, so he wasn't even a good ATM for her. I like to give her the benefit of the doubt and think that maybe she wasn't quite as bad when they were younger and got together... because staying with someone for three years is not something you'll do if all you see them as is a money bag, especially when it's not even a very big money bag. So I guess it's possible that while she never really loved him, she did initially like him, but she probably had friends with rich boyfriends who gave them fancy stuff and she was getting more and more envious and frustrated that she couldn't measure up to them. And in the end she was too shallow and opportunistic to stay with him.
She regretted it when he had started his company, but the thing is that he would never have been able to get to that point if he'd been with her. Not just because Chi Cheng backed him financially and with business contacts, but also because he improved himself so much in order to pursue CC at first, and then later to feel worthy of him.
Has the actor that plays Wang Zhen been in anything else?
Probably not, since he doesn't have an MDL page? Or at least nothing big enough that it made it onto MDL. His name is (ironically) Wang Shuo (though it's a different Wang, 王 instead of 汪).
Random RL thought of the day:About clearing Chi Cheng's name legally, honestly, if the lawyer Chengyu hired is…
I guess I'm not familiar enough with how the Chinese legal system works when it comes to tax evasion, so I find it easier to suspend my disbelief. I guess I don't watch enough legal C-dramas 😂
I just don’t get why he should pay that traitor any money. He could have recorded the conversation and presented…
It could be a legal issue. I don't know the law in China, but in my country (IIRC) secretly recorded audio is not admissible in court, or something like that.
