I have no idea why you feel like your "very existence" is being threatened, because nobody is threatening your "very existence" by being their own, harmless selves. You argue very aggressively for your own rights, but don't have the fairmindedness to respect the rights of others who do not share your experiences, as if only your experiences were valid. To be honest you sound exactly like religious fundamentalists when they campaign against gay rights because they "threaten the sanctity of marriage" or "humanity will become extinct" or something equally laughable.

What you are saying is simply not true. Most gay and lesbian people fully support trans rights and identify with the extended lgbtq+ community and don't feel threatened at all. Nobody is "homophobic" simply because a random, ranting person on the Internet says so, based on the policies of a known fringe hate group. Your organisation does not represent all LGB people and does not speak for all of them, and definitely does not have a say in the experiences of self-identified queer or trans people, so your accusations simply don't fly. I agree, the ending was a little bit too pat. I would have preferred it if Day had remained blind and still grown as a person, not just in being productive but also emotionally, and they overcame their problems and made it work together in that situation
