Oh my and again we are literally doing the same! Like everyday. And when all episodes are out, I can finally binge watch the whole thing in one go!!!!!!!!!!

It's actually not that simple, since it's not the production itself but always the NRTA that has the final say.

And since the production didn't follow the rules, it's quite possible that the NRTA is very dissatisfied. It's not the first time that Yu Zheng has done something he shouldn't.

For this reason, the NRTA has the right to intervene in production at any time. Of course, there's always room for negotiations.
The fact is that since 2022, series can have a maximum running time of 1,800 minutes in total, and 40 episodes significantly exceed this limit. So it's actually not that simple.

However, since Youku usually writes "Finale" on the last episode, many naturally hope that the NRTA hasn't intervened.

With regard to the Fast Track, I think iQIYI has solved it very well in my country (Germany) (I think Youku should do the same). For some reason, a Fast Track isn't or isn't allowed to be offered. Many people complained and iQIYI gave the go-ahead for countries without Fast Track to be able to end the drama early without paying extra. Of course, you have to be a VIP to do this.
These days, companies just want to make money out of everything and Fast Track is one of the easy solutions, as there will always be people who want to know how the drama ends right now. I am one of them and will buy Fast Track when it is available. Unfortunately, I will not be able to contain my curiosity.

There are actually to possibilites:
1. The NRTA was not pleased, that another popular drama didn't work within the guidelines and they truely only drop 36.
Or
2. Youku is really messing with us - there is a high possiblity with that, since in the overall schedule the last episode was marked with a broken heart "Finale" as in, no more episodes.

I actually hope for the latter and you are right. The latest episodes really had a good ending, without a cliffhanger. I wasn't used to that anymore...

Okay, you don't need to answer my question now - I am soooooo devastated! What should we do, when this drama ends? All others look so normal now...

The book has a HE - therefore Youku would be very stupid if they change.

It doesn't need to say so, since in 2022 the regulations changed. With this change it was implemented, that a drama can either have 40x45 minutes or overall 1.800 minutes in running time. So atm there is reasonable doubt, that the NRTA called out Yu Zheng for trying to get around the regulations over and over again. That is why ppl fear, that the drama will be cuted down, since the episodes exceeded the maximum airing time for 40 episodes.
Yu Zheng is well known in the industry of thinking very highly from himself and therefore he got called out already multiple times.

But since the epsiode 36 doesn't say "Finale" it might be, that they are just messing around. And ofc there is always room for negotiation...

Ahhh I see. Yes, he portrayed the charcter in a great way, that is a fact. I just disliked how they wrote the script. Because you can clearly see, that he put a lot of effort into it, but sometimes I would have wished, that his character had more development.

I totally forgot "Delicacies Destiny" after that drama, I started to follow him... So long ago.

I am in my 30s and also do the same such as giggles - I wouldn't say that it has something to do with someones age, but more like the behaviour such as if you are an introvert or an extrovert you will react completely different. And I guess introverts react more like him.
Furthermore we all need to stay young, so let's ne more childish at times ;-)

You should respect every kind of opinion, because may be we all can learn from eo :) That is the most important lesson life teaches us. Because we literally learn everyday :)

But that doesn't mean the NRTA will always stay quiet and close its eyes.
So let's hope that the fact that the schedule doesn't say "finale" means that there are still 40 episodes to go.

But as you said, there is still room for negotiation. So let's hope for that!

JSR needs to take poison - that is the decision of the grandmother and the father.

It wouldn't make any sense, if Youku has completely changed the HE from the book to a BE. They would upset so many ppl with it.

I will definitely bindge watch when all episodes are out! Ofc I am already watching, but this drama I need to watch again in one go.

I used the words head over heels - what is basically the same LOL I really enjoyed watching this short interaction between the two.

Youku is cutting them, not the NRTA - they just give the consent.
