In my opinion, he didn't want to show her that so clearly because he knows that she has no trust in anyone but Tong'er after everything that has happened. This is mainly a sign that Xiao Heng respects Jiang Li in every way and is trying to meet her at eye level so that they can slowly grow closer. In any case, it's been clear for a while that Duke Su has a huge crush on her. He waits patiently until Jiang Li finally tells him the truth about who she is, even though he already knows for sure.
We will see how they manage to do it. But I don't mind, if the war would only be seen in short sequences, such as a flashback setting.
What we know is that WXY was not pleased during a live, that they cutted the "Double Happiness" scenes short. He said, that they recorded so many hours and material and then WJY asked him, if he is angry and he cleary was and said it.
Re 3: Romance doesn't always show itself in physical acts, but is much more subtle, as in this drama. This drama…
Thank you <3 I know the part in regards to trusting as good as it comes. Unfortunately it changes you and interactions with any kind of ppl. Because you will never easily trust anyone in your life.

True and that was so damn cute: "Today, you'll be spared of lashes. I'm in a good mood."
But in my opinion he didn't see their interactions as transactions already before, but she also started to mention the transactions and therefore he reacted to it.
Just because no Duke Su? Seriously? Wu Jinyan has been phenomenal in this, the stepmom arc althought ridiculous…
He was in episode 28, but I suspect that viewers literally forgot about him because they weren't together for long - it was only at the beginning of the episode. But it was clear from their conversation that he wasn't going to make a second appearance. I really can't understand them.
I like slow burning romances too and for me this is it. I'm sure the director and screenwriter will stick with the happy ending for the book. Maybe they won't have a child yet, but the happy ending is more important to me, and hey, they're getting married in episode 36. So I suspect we'll see some more intimate interaction between the two soon - I've seen some interesting spoilers....
Yeah I know. I usually check YunHe and Douban as well as others...
But hey, I guess tomorrow we will in for a threat since the emperor and Xiao Heng will be talking together.
But I guess, we will soon come to the ark, where the stepmother needs to take the poison. Because now there is finally reason of a doubt and therefore I am sure, it will improve. Even though I really enjoyed the episodes so far.
I knew when JL asked Tong to stay by her side she was a goner. I also realised what JL was planning but the whole…
Re 3: Romance doesn't always show itself in physical acts, but is much more subtle, as in this drama. This drama is more about showing how they both try to support each other in every situation (even if they call each other pawns), how they look at each other and find inner peace when they are together and are there for each other no matter what will happen or come. They feel that they can trust each other and see eye-to-eye and say what they think without fear that either of them will judge a statement negatively in any way. In a romantic relationship, shared values such as justice should not be underestimated, as both want the truth to be revealed. Both realise that they are playing a dangerous game, yet they try to support and protect each other in subtle ways, no matter how dangerous it might become. They argue constructively, as each is equally allowed to express their opinion to the other. Through such interactions, harmony and happiness can slowly emerge. This form of romance portrayed in the drama is a much more mature form and has nothing to do with the more physical kind. Of course it plays a role, as they are probably seeking it - in the case of Xiao Heng, you can definitely see it through his small gestures.
And to quote Zeefaa: "These are to me very serious feelings and the definition of romance considering the fact that the FL is a betrayed and traumatized woman ( not to mention still officially married) who may just not be able to handle more of it for the time being."
If someone has been traumatised by a situation with their partner, they will always be wary of trusting someone too quickly or letting their emotions get the better of them. When she later takes Xiao Heng in her arms or kisses him, you can clearly tell that she has put the past behind her and is ready to enter into a new relationship with someone who will not throw her away (i.e. want to kill her), but is prepared to give everything he has for her. This is the fundamental difference between the characters Xiao Heng and Shen Yu Rong, as well as Xiao Heng's love for Jiang Li compared to Shen Yu Rong.
I guess that Youku drag the schedule so they can release express package on 22nd
I guess it will be the 21st, but since they haven't officially released the airing schedule, we need to be patient, even though the Chinese Youku website already gives us a certain indication.
None of the people I know were concerned about the age gap or thought the FL was on the decline or even knew about…
Same, same - having the age of the actress, I actually hope more directors will make such a decision more often in the future. It's not about age, it's about whether the actors are capable of portraying what needs to be portrayed, and in my opinion WXY hits the nail on the head.

Because what Antis usually do is to start it on Weibo and then to transport it to platforms such as X. Therefore Weibo is a important part of this. Happened way to often in the past to just leave it out just as fandom wars.
And furthermore there have been comments specially from certain fans, which were also posted in this section. So it already was happening here too...
I don't interact and only observe, because I hate these wars and don't understand why ppl get worked up, because something is not going like they want it too and even manage to cancel dramas. That is Weibo and impacting us in the worst case as well...

The issue with the age difference was before and at the beginning of the airing. The voices have become much quieter since the drama received such a positive response.
And then I recommend avoiding Weibo, as there are a lot of fanwars there.

You are aware that ZLY fans even tried to badmouth the drama here in the comments section?
It was the same on Weibo.
Realistically, the bigger the fanbase, the more likely it is to be noticed. But that doesn't mean it wasn't the case. Accordingly, the fans of Xiao Zhan, Wang Yibo, Zhao Liying, Cheng Yi, etc. are more likely to stand out than others, even if other fandoms are also involved in such a discussion. Of course, it is then easier to name the masses, even if others have played a distinct part in this.

In fact, it's true to reality because a lot of people on Weibo were talking about their age difference, which doesn't make it any less real. The reasons for this are simple. In Chinese society, the classic image that a man is older than a woman is still very widespread. Accordingly, it was one of the easiest points of attack to criticise the drama. They think that someone young is not able to interpret the character traits of an adult who has been through a lot in his life. However, such a quality has nothing to do with age, as no matter what age something can happen that makes you more adult than your peers and therefore you can have more life experience at a young age.
This is one of the points that is still very much underestimated there.
