Actually, it's too much of a change. She hates the child version of THH and isn't all that nice to her. I can totally understand it in a way, but the kid did nothing wrong.

Rewatching ep13 and it's still funny
THH's expression when she hears about everything on her tab, particularly when she thinks all 30 chickens are as well... Her expression when her sisters are discussing her love life as if she isn't there... Her hiding behind her tea cup when they're trying to send DFYC to the human market... So good :D

(Yes, the ep is quite cheesy, but in a good way)

Actually, in the books, I don't know if Lai even appears for this portion of the timeline (i.e., the flashback). In the main timeline, Lai has a crush on TYY but I don't know if they're ever a couple. TYY becomes quite an angry being after what happens to THH

I also wouldn't hugely mind the memory loss if only it was done well. I originally thought from the way they showed her "almost remembering events" that *that* was the line they were talking, i.e., even though she forgot, she didn't fully forget.
