Oh yeah, it was added later on Viki. Wasn't on Viki when the drama was airing.

It's been over an year at this point, I think. The drama wrapped filming before ABAY aired. Would be exactly 1 year since XK's last drama aired if Moonlit Reunion also ends up airing in July.

Unfortunately XK and BL aren't yet A listers.
If you walk on roads of remotest China and show an actor's picture to 10 random passersby and all ten of them recognise the actor, you can label that actor as an A lister. XK isn't at that stage yet.

Nah it isn't about obligation or anything lol. We are going in circles. I guess you really aren't putting yourself into her position to understand her pov.

FL knows and understands ML's pov. But knowing and understanding his pov doesn't mean she can't be hurt by his actions and act like nothing happened. That would be a great disservice to her character.

That brother of hers is a vile creature, no doubt about. We know it, ML knows it.
However the person involved does not see it, and it happens. We often sugarcoat questionable actions of our loved ones. And especially in FL's case, where this brother often put his life on line to save hers, and even taking up her identity to help her family, I think she would need more than "he betrayed my beloved, whom I met literally last week, and his army during this war time to help our own army's chances.. oh it's despecible"

It is despecible, but her brother's argument (he says he is doing it for their own army's good, and she is making it difficult by getting her feelings for ML involved), although she feels it's not right, she would have to agree he helped her army and cannot in her good conscience break ties with him for it.

At that point in time, in her pov, her brother did not betray her though. He did betray ML's army, and FL although disappointed, and blames him for doing those underhanded things, decided not to make a big deal out of it. Remember, this brother saved her life when she was young, putting himself in harm's way. This brother also prioritised her safety, putting himself in the harm's way again, when they were being attacked and he was downed into the river.

I think it's fair she will grieve his "death" and will blame ML for not saving him (because ML is someone she loves).

Your point is valid if FL is dealing with some random dude she is having dealings with. She would probably think, "That's fair, he crossed you, you didn't save him. Now let's consider the debt paid and we'd have no further dealings" or something like that.

Trust me, I get from where you are coming from. The first time I watched this drama, I was like you. On my re-watch I began to see it from FL's perspective. And it's also thanks to ML saying to FL when he was confining her: "You are only mad and hurting because it's me.. it means you have feelings for me" (don't remember the actual lines, but the sentiment is same.)

Huh, no matter how she calmed down, fact remains that her brother died (at that point in time, although FL thinks her brother did something disgraceful, she was ultimately led to be believed that he did it for Cui army's sake, so all's fair in love and war kind of thing), and ML could have easily saved him but did not. That's not an easy thing to get over especially if the person you fell in love with let your brother die.

FL was not directly involved in ML's army's death.. ML can realise this fact and not stay mad at FL because she had no involvement. On the other hand, although ML did not kill her brother, he could have easily saved him but did not. He was deliberate in his actions.

This could go on and on, let's just agree to disagree on this.

Her POV is that the man she is falling in love with sees her as someone who could betray him (not those petty tricks they played before that). Her POV is that the man she was falling in love could save her brother, but chose not to (doesn't matter if the brother did something disgraceful. At that point, that's her brother who died.. a brother she grew up with vs a man she just met a few days ago, do the math). Her POV is that, after all this happened, the man she was falling in love with had confined her.

She did see things from ML's POV, too.

And it's precisely because she saw things from ML's POV that she asked to be left alone, yet ML wouldn't leave her alone and confine her. Because she saw things from ML's POV, she ultimately fell in love with him, but seeing from ML's POV doesn't mean she should dismiss her own POV, right?

My point was, you are only looking at ML's POV, ignoring FL's POV. And so, I provided FL's POV.

I was not saying ML's POV is wrong and FL's POV is right. Hell, even I was angry at FL the first time I watched this drama. On my second viewing, I understood the FL's POV.

Both are right in their own perspectives. And that's why this is one of my favorite dramas.

I replied to someone else's post on this point. I will paste the reply below, but before that, I would like to say, I feel like you are only thinking in ML's pov. My reply (you can also find this reply by scrolling down a bit) is from FL's pov.

Well, A Ying saw Young Master Cui as her brother at that point. So yeah, she would be sad he died, let's establish this point first.
Second point, A Ying and Shiqi are very much into each other. Even though they haven't been vocal about it, it is kind of an established fact. Imagine liking someone romantically, the other person also likes you and you know it, then that person just watched as your brother fall into a possible death and did nothing to help. Would you not be angry at them?
If that person is nothing to you, maybe you would not be angry. But it's because Shiqi means something to her, that's why she is angry and disappointed. Same goes to her being angry at Shiqi for thinking so low of her to assume she played a part in setting up Shiqi's army to die at enemy's hand. She would not have been angry if she did not like him. She was angry and disappointed because the person she liked would think of her like that.

I also want to add that the ML even confined her after all this. So, I think the FL has enough reasons to stay mad at the ML.

As for being sneaky and deceiving, remember, they are not on the same side. Both will have to consider their respective armies before their feelings. But in all of that, ML still came out with his own benefits.

I think he is still in his first contract, and it is valid until 2026, 10 years since he joined the company.

As some fans have pointed out, it makes sense why Yu Zheng is trying to make it difficult for Xu Kai since his contract is close to expiring.

I hope Xu Kai can get this mess sorted out somehow. Yu Zheng is a powerful man, so he will do everything in his power to keep Xu Kai in his company or destroy him on his way out, since he only has two main cash cows at the moment: Xu Kai and Bai Lu. I'm rooting for Wang Xingyue to have a great year, so great that it assures Yu Zheng enough to let Xu Kai go.

It's not the same.
The director of this drama is known for making BL (Boys Love) drama. People are worried he would do the same with this drama.
Also, the drama team approached XK and his team saying that it is a single ML drama with multiple side male characters. The focus is on the ML. The synopsis and the title are giving more traction to the second ML. People are worried that the actor playing second ML will use XK's popularity to get popular themselves.

One can say making making BL is cool, it will give more traffic to XK, but you can see how that turned out for Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo. They've got these resentful BL fans hating on their respective dramas, always dragging them through the mud.

It is available on YouTube, Viki, and iQiyi, yes, but not in my country, unfortunately.

I was lucky enough to find a website to download the Viki version. I watched the drama back in 2020 on a pirate website, it was 480p with very bad quality. But I had no other choice back then.

Agreed. Even if the production team backtracked and go with the original script with only XK as the ML, I still think XK should refuse the drama. They broke the trust, and it is very hard to come back from this. Both for XK and his fans.

Also, all this proves that XK's team is very incompetent. He deserves a competent team. His fans should make this a point in their protest and should not back down.
