Well, as it happens, while we were discussing XK BL drama, another drama involving BL and ZLH happened during the Weibo Night.
I saw a video on Twitter just yesterday, where BL was seated and was turning her head back to talk with MZY, and then ZLH was walking by, BL immediately turned her head back (to ignore him) while he was passing by her seat, and then turned again to speak with MZY once ZLH passed by them.
Looks like another actor she's rumoured to have dated joined her list of people to ignore.

Now with drama team creating another supertopic, Alaso finds it disrespectful, and would not engage in any way with this newly created supertopic. They will engage in the drama promotions with the original supertopic, and will not, in any way, acknowledge or engage with the new supertopic for promotions.

Yeah, I can see someone crazy enough want to put them two together in a drama.. if it ever happens, I hope it's after a few years, when both of them are well settled in their respective personal lives (with their own partners) and professional lives that they don't get shipped anymore. I see them starring together in a drama or a movie with serious mature content rather than idol content. And I'm sure both of them would be down to it by then if they like the script.

Also, regarding the chemistry, each to their own opinion. And yes, I do agree XK has had great chemistry with other co-stars too. Especially Tan Songyun and Jing Tian.
This drama's plot is similar to an Indian movie plot I recently attempted to watch.
The difference is, in the Indian movie, it's the best friends of the couple taking care of the child and falling in love in the process. But it was poorly executed and I had to drop it.
Although it was poorly executed, I felt the plot was promising and even hoped a K-drama or a C-drama could pick it up and do a better job at execution. Thankfully K-dramas did it. And I'm not disappointed at all.
Company (especially YZ) tried to sell their CP way too hard.. created rumours.. both actors fans did not like it and started attacking each other to the point of no return.

Zero. As much as I want them to collaborate on a project together, I know it's not happening. They had the most natural chemistry, both on and off screen.

Same here. I tried watching this drama a few months ago. People kept saying about how great the chemistry between the leads was, and I was pretty excited to jump in. I only managed to watch until ep 15 before dropping it, because I also didn't feel the chemistry, and also cringed a bit as you did. I thought I can't go through with this anymore so I dropped it (I just came back wondering why I dropped it, because it's been a while, and your comment helped refresh my memory).
I feel like it's not that there's no chemistry between the actors (they did have great chemistry when they weren't being mushy), but rather, there's no chemistry between the characters they played. The drama would have appealed to me more if it were just about cases and, like you said, an "arrange marriage" trope, etc.
I actually watched Wanted Detective drama right before this, and that drama is everything I wanted Coroner's Diary to be.
