They probably had this debate in the translation group. I'd much rather have had "geek" instead of "nerd." I would…
I would still argue for Otaku. The nuances straight from Japanese, are pretty commonly understood in English, and geek and nerd are not really 'it'. As I said, it's in common usage in English now.
I know commenting about this here, has no effect, but I just want to vent... The subs translation of otaku to nerd, is starting to grate. Otaku has widespread usage in English. Much like Kimchi, it doesn't need translation!
I agree! And yes, he's a Catholic priest. The character gives me totally creepy vibes. 🤔 ...but that might be…
I know MANY Catholics who absolutely have 😬 but I am with you in the ick. But I, also could NEVER understand having a crush on a teacher, so it's definitely a me thing 😅
Ep 3; Seems a bit (and by bit I mean very) hypocritical that an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist is making a fuss about being poked at with a sample stick! 🙄
Lee Kang Hee as Choi Siwon's mother!?! I am waiting for a plot line of her as a child-bride. Or is she a 2nd marriage/step-mother?
🤔 🤨why is it that so many get upset by an age-gap >3-5 years between couples, but never complain about the unrealistic ages of parents in dramas?!
I'm writing this again, for clarity. This is NOT a NEWS Report. This is an EDITORIAL, expressing the opinions of the author, Lily Alice. Please read it with that in mind.
""scenes that objectify women" Its a tv show, maybe the same people who are complaining about it should focus…
I agree with your first comment, but you have unfortunately crossed a line here. Money DOES NOT compensate for abuse. Blaming these victims with the idea that they chose their career and the money, is justifying that abuse. A rational person expects to be able to go to work, ANY WORK and not suffer abuse. The abusive behaviour is what needs to stop. Nothing else actually needs to change, except that. Stop being violent, stop being abusive, stop being coervice... I'm really hoping you were just being reactive after being challenged and do actually have some empathy and compassion, as your first comment would suggest.
The themes in ep3 are impressive for a Kdrama romcom.
It's a pretty realistic portayal of the cold hard fact; when it comes to family violence, no-one is coming to save you. And it's a pretty good show of how empathy is worth sh*t if you don't have compassion. (I.e choosing to act upon your empathy to help someone else). Standing by and doing nothing whilst someone suffers injustice (of any kind) makes you an accessory to the perpetrators.
I LOVE how she holds her brother to account for this and directly questions his friend about his values. Loyalty to your mates, versus, empathy, compassion and respect! Wow!
Can't wait!

Wow!
Every culture surely does have something that other cultures will find challenging 😬
There's a great editorial about this exact topic, published earlier this year.
