do people hating on her character?? i find it interesting, shes so consistent in her, as you said, 'eff you' personality.…
Yes she is a very unusual type of character for Kdramas! It seems; to be a likeable middle aged female, you are meant to be quiet, refined and sensible. Oh, and never make mistakes! π€£
It seems I am the only one left in these comments, who still loves Eun Mi. I love how she is so 'eff you' to everyone…
The spaghetti western type stare-off between Park Ji Eun and Eun Mi in ep 9, is hilarious! I love how these 3 high school frenemies, hold on to their grudge for each other, but still are capable of recognising Jin Hee's worth and wanting the absolute best for her.
The older I get, the more apparent it is that people don't really grow up π€£. Petty grievances, gossip, self-made drama...humans live for that sh@%! No-one seems to actually want peace. So these characters are VERY realistic, in my experience π€·ββοΈ
It seems I am the only one left in these comments, who still loves Eun Mi. I love how she is so 'eff you' to everyone who challenges her. I see that as a coping mechanism she would have set up, in order to KEEP HER BABY, and raise her as well as she possibly could, as a teenage single mother, with ZERO familial support (especially in a culture like SK where familial piety is EVERYTHING). And considering how awesome Jin Hee is, she obviously did something right!
I am a massive fan of Ahn Eun Jin, and Namkoong Min, but I just can't do Joseon era...the blatant misogyny (+ bigotry and classism) dressed up as saeguk. I know it happened, but it still informs what KEEPS happening! I just want to SEE the change I want to BE! Give me full romantic fantasy over Confucian era drama... That said, please tell me if it's still worth viewing π

I don't know about Taiwan, but it's a VERY common trope in romamce novels from UK Ireland, Europe, Aust, US. Much like the whole "contract marriage" trope, I'm not so convinced it's a widespread in real life though π€·ββοΈ (I started The Way You Shine too)
I am straight up, NOT in support of Jing Fan's "My child, I won't share" POV. Unless the other parent poses a risk to your child's safety. The child has a right to BOTH parents. You're not thinking of your child, you're only thinking of yourself. And why wouldn't you want more people in your child's life, who love them?!?
THAT SAID; I am not complaining about the fact that it has provided a set up for the all out hyper-masculinity competition between Heng Da and Yu Quan. It is both comedy and eye-candy gold! I wish they'd developed it more.
26 episodes and now I'm bored although I was having so much fun before. I knew that I wouldn't last 40 episodes.…
I hear you (read you) but I'm still on board because I'm finding it to be 'silly' melodramatic. Like they're aware it's OTT, (Marcus Chang in on the verge of mugging, vertially every episode) but they never overplay it. π€ Although A'Fa might be pushing that boundary a bit. All in all I'm still finding it's a light-hearted laugh. And it's a relief to watch such a liberal and gender positive show, compared with so many so called Romance dramas.
Hello Venus ML made a cameo and i almost died πAs a huge fan of "eye romance" (acting that portrays the romantic…
I come back to this page periodically because I love this drama so much. Your comment reminded me of one of the reasons - The chemistry between the leads is so palpable. 'Eye romance' is perfect π€£ ....wish I could experience that in real life, but pretty happy to watch Li Xian on repeat.
Is this drama sad? I'm going through it rn, so I don't want to watch a tear jearker lol.
The 1st ep is definitely a tear-jerker. But it is a set piece to justify the FLs decisions thereafter. And it's a beautiful cameo by Janice Wu. The rest is really joyful. IMO A slow burn for the viewer, where you come to the end, feeling refreshed.
