I waited to watch the second episode and then comment about the dramathe first episode was okay but didn't like…
I TOTALLY agree, but it makes sense in a Korean context. SK doesn't have "no fault divorce". You have to prove fault, with physical evidence (which can he REALLY difficult with abuse) or both parties have to equally agree to the divorce. So, it may seem counter-intuitive, but adultery can be an easier way out of an abusive marriage.
well the writers have definitely the mistress character so well that i hate her with a passion I can't wait for…
I have more of an issue with the father. Completely abandoning his children, and then betraying them by leaving her the house...but yeah, he gets off scott free in this, whilst the woman is demonised. Yes, she's a terrible person, but I find him more reprehensible.
is it just me or is something missing in this drama? idk when i was watching my mister i felt it was so meticulously…
Sorry but I disagree. I think it's a mistake to compare it with My Mister (I've commented already). It is slow moving but there are very clear choices around the scene settings, the music, the colouration. And the main characters definitely have depth, (even if their angsty troubles can seem a little bit bourgeois...) I'm finding the acting is making me empathise far more than I ordinarily would with this kind of plot. Maybe come back when it's all done and see if the outcomes suit you more 🤷
The similarities between the two dramas are obvious, but I think the two female characters are very different.
I actually don't see the dramas as similar at all, except maybe in tone. And WooJoo and Ji-An are nothing alike; their backgrounds etc., bear no actual resemblance. It's a style thing - maybe a tribute... (In my crazy over-actualising imagination, I see WooJoo as having grown up watching My Ahjussi, and feeling herself to be victimised by life, in the same way. But there's a level of privelege on display here, that did NOT exist in Ji-An's world)
I am so sick of K-dramas always representing women as tired, fed-up, hating their own children mothers. I don't…
That's inttersting... I had a totally different response to this scene! She said it was the "most wonderful mistake" of her life. I took it that, given current cultural expectations she would have chosen NOT to have a child, but regardless, she doesn'tfully regret it 🤷.
I love Kang So Ra, but OMG Oh Ha Ra, has no redeeming qualities for me so far. And now, to use an inheritance threat to co-erce your partner into having a baby. Chills! Actual chills!
> abortion is a decision made by the carrier of the baby since it's their body.Yea, it's really not. Being an…
"A kid shouldn't have to pay for dumb parents/people". I'm sorry but I don’t understand how you're using this as a rationale for being anti-abortion. Forcing people to be parents, when they actively do NOT want to be is a good solution?!?
I give up. Half way through ep 19. The constant negging. Public ridicule over choosing the wrong fish...
And they're back together, by accident!?! Sure, this is a pretty realistic portrayal of how toxic relationships play out, but I like Cdramas because of how they show character growth. Ep 19 ZERO growth.
9 episodes in and I just can't watch any further. The ML is trash! Absolutely horrible! Their horrible toxic marriage…
I am with you! I've kept going through to Ep19, trusting that there'll be some growth. But sadly. Nope. They're back together because they basically accidentally fell into bed with each other. And the serious negging of FL by ML is ongoing. I think the writers have definitely represented an unfortunately common type of relationship but it's crap to watch. I can't comprehend the comments here, supporting the ML and blaming poor communication. Are we watching the same show?! I am now FULLY onside for a smackdown blowout, crushing of ML by FL, when she finally realises her worth...I am checking out now too. But Iwill probably return once the series wraps up, for spoilers.
I have question tho how do you measure Love between couple like she love him more than he loves her, here FL asking…
I agree with you! Either you love someone or you don't. If it's a competition, it's not actual love IMO. And yes, comparison is childish. I think you're spot on though, with regards to this drama - that the measuring represents how immature both parties are. I'm hoping for significant growth in both!
On my 2nd rewatch (i.e. 3rd viewing) and I'm crying even more this time. Knowing what happens makes it worse 😭…
Not at the end. The end is all tied up with a forecast of future happiness for all the main characters. But the 1st episode is pretty straightforward in giving you a clear sense of a very tragic outcome within the drama.
Maybe come back when it's all done and see if the outcomes suit you more 🤷
There's an entire world outside of SK who want to see this!
