The support cast here is **chef's kiss** I read an interview where LJH said "There's a saying 'What you already know is the best.' I know that 'King The Land' might be a little cliche and classic. But we tried to reinterpret the scenes that might seem unoriginal to make them fresh. There are scenes that are not cliched," Rom-coms that subvert the tropes are my absolute favourites, and the 1st ep is hilarious so it's looking good so far!
At ep 17. And it's ridiculous. Reading comments I want to skip this and the next 5-8 eps, but I'm concerned about missing detail... To prevent a child from knowing their parent, is horrifying to me. Certainly protecting your child from a dangerous parent is right. But this situation is not that. The ML is a positive and loving influence and yes the FL is seriously problematic. BUT there ARE many other commenters here, calling her out. What I'm waiting for is a reasonable explanation for WHY she chose to hide him, and why SHE is so mistrustful of the ML, when HE is the one who has the most right to be so... Spoilers? Anyone?
"In 2002, Lee was blacklisted by MBC since he was arrested in 2001 for having sex with a minor". Please revise the language here. It is NOT sex, when it's with a minor. It is RAPE! A minor i.e. a 16 year old, CANNOT consent with a 40 year old man.
It was definitely awkward during the scene with the 'actor' playing Cha Eun Jae's father.
Sorry to burst your favourite bubble, but if by 'professor', you mean the actor playing Cha Eun Jae's father...he is a bad guy. I imagine I would feel VERY awkward, trying to act, with him in the room. Maybe 'google' him
Admittedly I have a bias for Lee Sin Young, but shaming his character for not being willing to work overtime is really discomforting. Labour laws in SK are RIDICULOUS! 88 hours per week! WTF!?! No wonder the birthrate is in the -ve. Who has time?!?
This is pretty watchable, but yez the twin thing is too much! And generally, a massive Aegyo warning
Oh and the representation of women as being envious and vengeful bytchez... I figure it's meant to be just the 'less pretty' ones who are, based on how the specific characters are presented, styling-wise. The 'pretty' characters are mostly played as sweet and innocent. This show gets less palatable as you go on, because of all the stereotypes...
Eurkk the title here just makes me squirm. Please consider rewording it! "Rowoon's female lead" - makes it sound like he owns her. ". ..the female lead in Rowoon's upcoming drama..." might be an improvement.
There is A LOT of sexual predation that is presented in a low key, off hand way. The spiked drink situation is very up front BUT there is much also perpetrated by LuYu: Most women DO NOT like to be trapped or confined, as 'a move' by a man. In real life it's threatening and very often frightening. Kissing someone when they are saying no, clearly NOT consenting, is assault. Justifying your actions by calling the woman hot and cold, trying to blame her for so called mixed signals, and presenting yourself as a confused romantic, makes you even more sinister. If there were some action to directly address and resolve these behaviours, it would make this show almost groundbreaking. But sadly, it's presented as ignorant at best, and at worst, romantic
I agree with Shantiece below 👇 this would be better if the side couples were skipped

It's under the heading "Related Content" just under the synopsis above.
