not required reading, but you will get ZZS's full story before the start of TYK. The drama changed a lot of the background stories though. Lord Seventh is more court drama and intrigue if you are into that. It's a HE since TYK follows 7th.

having a rating system is actually giving up the power to dictate what is censored at will, which they government will never let go. If you look into the US MPAA movie rating system, it is also extremely vague in terms of ratings. There's a good documentary on it called, This Film is Not Yet Rated.

Because of the CCP centennial happening this year, the Q2 and Q3 are reserved to CCP's ideological output and celebration, so all historical dramas are on hold during the summer. Everything is just not in favor of this drama, the timing is very incorrect because WOH heat is still ongoing, and there's not enough time for Immortality to get "hot" before the CCP centennial celebration. It's all financial decisions, this drama's investment is too high for Tencent to see it dwindle. This drama's rating and popularity needs to be very high for Tencent to see returns, it can't be mediocre.
