The reason why 3rd prince and QingKui love story is more interesting than the main one is because it looks like a lakorn love story with the extremely feminine ladylike, decent and sheltered N'ek paired with the dark bad boy kinda villainy p'ek.
The main couple is too been there done that in cdramaland

I agree that after watching LBFAD this Xianxia here is not so impressive at all lookwise. LBFAD was just stricking beautiful and sucked you in its universe. This one pale in comparison. In both dramas I am absolutely not impressed with the FL characterisation : usual same childish and abbrasive

I thought he looked fine in GMP. The PD of GMP knows how to make people look good. He looks awkward in XianXia so far but convincing as a strong fighter

Honestly the FLs here are a reminiscence of 00's wuxia Female characters : can be brat but once they mean business they mean business.

Checking this drama now and so far so good ! Lei Wu Jie is my fav character cause he is so pure and adorable ! 😊 He is like Wuxin and Xiao Se baby and one can see how they want to protect him 🙂
I liked Li HanYi and Zhao YuZhen story. So far I am ok with Sikong character cause she can genuinely hold herself in a fight and by the time I am watching now Xiao Se ain't her priority.

She doesn't have strong backers to end up like a YangMi or a Liu Tao or a Liu Yi Fei/Liu Shi Shi etc... who are still popular even in their late 30s/40s. And she is getting wasted on cookie-cutter chinese female roles (who do not highlight her charm) in cheap dramas

I see the type of dramas she will play next and the type of roles she is given and none of them look interesting for me

I mean lately after him blowing up a lil bit cause of MR, I've noticed he covers himself more now (guess he got more money to buy clothes 🤷‍♂️) and he takes less sensual pictures. About this drama the PD made a huge mistake treating DaiDai (and his chest 🤭) like a guest star.
What made me stuck here is the FL refreshing personality by cdrama standard. Still cannot reach the level of a bare chested lakorny sensual Dai Gao Zheng.
Talking about FL I miss Chen Fan Tong voluptuous curvy body and cute dimpled-face. Gotta check what is her next project. Hopefully one where she wears Qipaos
