The high calibre actors I can in the younger generation are :
Wang You Shuo : guy is wasted in supporting roles he acted in Young Blood. So no chance
Zhang Ruo Yun : but not sure it is gonna ever happen
The male lead in Young blood : Not sure it is gonna happen
Jackson Yee : he is a 00's baby. Will never happen
Liu HaoRan : a 98'er. Don't think it is gonna happen
Male lead in Bloody Romamce : Not sure it is gonna happen

Chen Fei Yu : he had chemistry with Tong Yao for real but not sure it is gonna happen.
Chen Xing Xu : Not sure it is gonna happen

For me the drama would be even more perfect if Shen Ru Zu is indeed sincere with YinZhang and this pair can potentially work but I don't know. I don't get that of his side. Doesn't help Kris Sun has that creepiness behind those eyes. He tends to play two-faced roles

Wang Kai did a lot of intense romantic dramas ? I mean I don't remember seeing him in something like Kluen Cheewit. Plus KC type of storyline is very lakorny so very rare in cdramaland since FLs in cdramas tend to be the annoying innocent and pure ones while Jee is more of the grey woman with s.x appeal and more mature.

Wang Kai yes. He got charisma and a great voice. I can see him as an upright and obsessed lawyer and Liu Yi Fei as the big female goddess star he is fighting against for revenge. They would burn the screen

I think fandom culture can play a role at the regression in quality of an art. Fans love and hype blindly anything their fav artists do even when it bad.

I am open to good comedy (Joy of life) but this guy antics do nothing to me. He overracts. Chen Liang and Gu Xian Fan scenes bring good comic relief.

I personally believe Hong Kong'ers are better at making comedy movies/dramas than mainlanders

Chen Liang is fine but the guy with his minions is the weakest line for me as well.
