I’m on episode 15 and seems like everyone and their grandmother is interested in Song Yan and what he feels for Xu Qin 😅 Aiyooo! Just watching it as a viewer makes me feel breathless. I cannot even begin to imagine how he must he feeling while trying to sort out what he wants to do.
I feel so much for Xu Qin. ❤️ I hope she finds the strength to overcome her trauma and choose healing for herself 🙂
Consent is sooooo damn sexy! Especially in such a relationship where they’re so at ease and comfortable with each other already. I love that he isn’t taking it for granted before he’s made his intentions clear. 😌

Then you HAvE go to see King: Eternal Monarch…they break open a kimchi packet while on a stakeout and wow over how delicious it is and then get one of those make-up stick thingies out of their pocket and apply them to their lips and cheeks etc and discuss the merits of it all while waiting for the criminal to show up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was totally gobsmacked!

I am honestly loving the chemistry between XZ and RM. I think the premise of the story works really well for these 2 actors to get the chemistry right. It’s subtle and tempered just right! And honestly, for me personally, it is the first time I’m able to see XZ as something other than WY and that is saying something! 😀 They’re both really good here and I am so excited to see what’s coming ahead.
I am really enjoying this. Shi Ying and Zhu Yan are good together 😍 She makes him smile and he grounds her … I hope they remain so even amidst all the calamity that is coming.
And that dragon was awesome! What wonderful cgi - been consistent so far I think. The fight scenes were very well done too!

Ooooh interesting point! I hadn’t thought of that and it makes perfect sense. I do have a special attachment to dramas I watch while they air (if they catch my interest right from the start) and especially if I enjoy the discussions and interactions about them here or on Twitter etc and I do tend to rate them based on how much I enjoyed them rather than perhaps the technical details. But true what you said - only time will tell. 😀

In the novel she’s actually 7 years younger. I thought they kept that in the drama as well and was confused for quite a while while watching it 😀 The synopsis here says 5 years though. I guess it’s not as much the age gap but more of the fact that she was in middle school when she first met/had feelings for him. Had this been a college/older youth drama, the age gap wouldn’t be so much of an issue I suppose.
I for one am completely sold on this story. It’s perfectly normal and natural to have a crush on an older person during that age (I certainly have! A friend’s college going older brother that too lol 😂) and the fact that DJX was very respectful and kept strong boundaries and saw her as nothing but his friend’s younger sibling till they met again and things started changing is good enough for me. In a way, if they hadn’t ended up in the same region, it’s plausible that they would have taken different paths and gone on with their lives. Didn’t seem like even Sang Yan and DJX kept in regular touch all that much till Sang Zhi came to Yihe so the probability of DJX and Sang Zhi crossing paths again was very low.
