It is so good! The actors are doing such a good job and I especially love CZY. His micro expressions and mannerisms are wonderful to watch. Loved his depiction of being in pain from a burst appendix 😀

Depends on what you like tbh - I for one loved it cos it was very nostalgic for me coming from an IT college/uni background. It was so relatable with all the programming jargon, the friendships, the crush, etc. But I also have friends who found it a bit slow paced and ffwded scenes that did not have the leads interacting etc. I’d say try a couple of episodes and see how you feel 🙂🙂

Junho does tortured heroes so well! 🥹 I am enjoying the cliches…feels like I am reading one of my favourite M&B novels 😊 I hope she doesn’t get used by that evil sister 😔

After the intensely dramatic The Red Sleeve, it is so good to see LJH in a light hearted romantic comedy 😀 I LOVE the cliches and the tropes and I am glad it’s got actors who can make this convincing!!!!!

I do not like the secretary character 😑 The whole “Who else can tolerate you but me?” gaslighting is so…grrrrr!!!!!! I hope he ends up with the snobby front desk manager. Ha!

I now expect to see some of the below happening -

1) GW and CSR have met as kids
2) CSR would have given GW a lollipop or something to soothe him when he was crying at all the fake smiles
3) CSR might get into a contractual relationship with GW to save the hotel
4) GW’s dad will fall sick with a sudden heart attack soon (its all the expensive tuna and champagne)
5) GW will let down his guard and cry and smile in front of CSR

Where is the 15 year mark then??? That part confuses the heck outta me. TY said he chased away a dark aura in the Dragon Alley 15 years ago…wasn’t he already dead at the hands of SY by then???

CY was bound and held prisoner in QQ by Changlan and the general dude and then, escaped from QQ and was meditating and cultivating to get stronger. It hasn’t been long since he escaped and TY and party met him.

Yup TY is no longer immortal..he’ll probably cultivate and get reborn. TY didn’t cut the flower initially cos they were trying to get of the dark aura using the GE practice as they believed it could get rid of the dark phantom dude forever. But now TY was forced to do it when he saw that YH was possessed.

I’ve thought about it and I believe its the mismatch of scenes not so much the pacing…I am not sure if I make sense but it reminds me of people who aren’t comfortable with deep emotions and so they make inappropriate jokes or brush off how they feel and make light of it? So it’s neither here nor there. You end up throwing your hands inthe air and distancing yourself from them and just listening to them without getting emotionally - invested —till you know for sure that they are ready and willing to be serious

And yes I agree with you - there was a lot of potential here that’s been lost 🙂 Also, I feel like the actors are individually great but somehow, the whole thing doesn’t seem to work together as the episodes go by. Again, not something I can articulate properly but when you mentioned Tiger and Rose, this is something that came to mind. Or maybe it’s the way the plot is being presented like you said

YH was initially dying cos of a weak heart and when she got the HPS as a baby, her life was no longer at risk. TY also gave her his 9 stars which extends her life but since she has a weak heart, she can only stay alive with something keeping her heart alive. When TY removed the HPS, her life was shortened to 3 months (she didn’t die immediately cos of the 9stars) and so, BXS took her to the dark phantom who put his dark aura inside her to keep her heart alive. TY couldn’t give her back the HPS cos it would not go well with the dark aura inside her and they were using the practices mentioned in the GE to dispel the dark aura. The original GE went with BXS but Chengyi knew it already and translated it cos his wife is the original author. Now, as YH was practicing the GE method (which I understand is also dark magic which can be used to counter the dark aura and make the practitioner a dark lord more powerful than the dark phantom, the dark phantom tried to control YH to take the HPS from TY. So TY destroyed the black flower, which was the symbol that YH was being controlled by the dark aura, and since she has the 9 stars which would prolong her life, and the spell where TY gives up his life for her, she would stay alive while TY dies. So BXS takes the HPS put of TY and shoots it into YH to keep her heart alive and in the process, the life exchange spell is reversed and TY doesn’t die although he has lost a considerable amount of his cultivation and with it, his immortality (cos of the 9 stars).

I think he’s quite unstable as a character precisely because of his childhood experiences. The whole “falling in love at first sight” to “doing whatever it takes to ensure she’s mine” to “purposely inciting the other guy so he’ll act cruelly in front of her” to “I’ll give her up to show her how noble I am so she’ll see me in a good light” etc etc is the behaviour of a mentally unstable person I’d say. YH had a lot of patience with him which I hope helped soothe and heal some parts of him atleast

WHY IS HE SO DAMN GOOD LOOKING!!!!!!!! He seems to be getting better and better with each episode. And his acting too. Such a photogenic guy! I loved the ending shot that focused on his profile with his lovely nose and lips. He has me totally convinced he’s TY 😍😍

Yup the pacing is super fast. You don’t get enough time to dwell on one scene and emotion before you’re being pulled into another, diametrically opposite emotion. I love the sweet moments and the couple-y scenes and the whole cuteness overload and squeal everytime it happens on screen but I am unable to feel for them cos of the pacing. Like, I am convinced everything will turn out well in the end so I can just sit back and take it easy and enjoy the ride and this is what the drama is intended for too, I think. An easy watch that doesn’t require too much energy 😊😊 And with such pretty people too! (Except that dark lord’s horrible makeup!)

When did TY put this spell on YH? I cannot recollect this at all! Did this happen with the 9 stars??

Yep I am confused by the timeline as well tbh…TY hurt the dark aura 15 years ago he said. But wasn’t he dismembered 20 years ago? Also BXS said something about 15 years ago and wasn’t he just a kid then? 🤔🥺😕
