I like TTJ’s character. It’s easy to understand why he is the way he is and I love that he is so unapologetic about who he is. If and when he decides to choose the “morally right” path, it’s going to be so satisfying cos it’ll be on his terms and cos he thinks, and believes, it’s worth it.
I also like Li Su Su - she had a strong set of beliefs that she started with and it’s nice to see her shed her prejudices as she goes through her experiences with TTJ.
Ming Ye is too wishy-washy for me 😑 Yes he looks damn good in his robes while he walks up and down and sighs and scoffs and smiles BUT c’mon! Just talk to the girl and find out what’s going on dammit! And, did he not see that somebody had cut down that tree???? Did he not miss the daily fruit delivery? 😡 And how could he just believe that goddess when she literally told him that she had no qualms destroying the Mohe tribe as long as he stayed alive???
Sang Jiu is the stereotypical sheltered, naive, will-believe-anyone kinda character. But I’m guessing there’s more to her than meets the eye cos that seduction was so out of character for her! That demon in her will most likely cause some havoc!

I also really hope it’s relevant to the whole plot/story somehow cos if this scene was done just to add some spice to the drama, I’ll be quite disappointed as they have done it at the expense of screen time that could have been dedicated to more relevant plot points and logic (eg: TTJ never commenting on the fact that he’s got vision back in his left eye!!!!!)

Oh yes AO3 is a veritable treasure trove! I’ve read many, many endings and extended stories and non-canon stories etc there to indulge my need to keep characters I am fond of alive ☺️ The one pair whose stories I still diligently follow on AO3 cos I simply cannot give them up is WangXian.

I did read about the episodes length issue in TTEOM too which is a shame. But honestly, seeing how TSL made the fast-paced-story thing work makes me less forgiving of TTEOM although from the looks of it, seems like it was heavily edited after the whole thing was made which is such a shame😕 I was soo looking forward to it cos I am still in a xianxia mood 🥹 It’s definitely worth a watch though. And, it honestly just makes me yearn to see Immortality!!!! 😍
I think it’s do with what grips me as a viewer. Happened while IS and LBFAD were airing - I was stuck to Ying Yuan Dijun and Yan Dan’s emotional dilemma cos, for me personally, the emotions were stronger there I guess. Same here. I don’t see the depth of the characters in TTEOM as much as I saw them in TSL. Nothing to do with the drama and no comparisons - just what interests me as a viewer. Could also be cos I’m older now and prefer more emotionally mature and/or emotionally available male characters 🫣🫣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m not sure how to feel about them tbh..I mean the characters. I can’t seem to feel any sort of investment in what happens to them…and I am going to blame the pace of the story for that 😅😂 It’s just giving me so much whiplash with the way they’re jumping around from one point to another! The colours and costumes are so beautiful though and looks lovely on a big screen.
And, I’m seriously missing this comment section and the way it was so active 😭😭

Oh wow! That’s a lot of stuff that’s being left out and all such interesting scenes too! I’m glad they’ve atleast given us TTJ and YX’s internal monologues which gives some context!!
the plot was SUPERRRR FAST sometimes i can't keep up with it😭 but i do understand they cut it with the most…
I think so too… and, there are some moments that don’t make logical sense because of the pace I’m guessing (like YX having money on her after falling into the sea and dressing up like she’s still in her mansion while deciding to walk to Jin kingdom 😲😳) but tbh, I have suspended all my disbelief and have decided to just enjoy the ride cos it’s quite a gripping story as far as TTJ is concerned lol 😀 I hope they don’t suddenly decide to make it draggy or something midway though
