Thank you for this ❤️ On another note - I realised that sometimes, I find it difficult to interpret scenes such as these that do not seem to follow the sensitivity of the maker/director/writer’s original intentions unless I step away and remind myself that the characters need to be seen as individuals who can be real people and therefore with human flaws. I hope that helps 🙂

I have no complain for this drama, except for the excessive (not to mention useless) drinking scenes. Too much…
The excessive alcohol scenes made me think back to my college days cos I knew guys like them in college (the girls were not able to drink cos it simply wasn’t/isn’t done where I am from). All they did was drink because they used it as a coping mechanism that helped them ignore their issues rather than facing their feelings or talking about them. Right from ep1, no one is talking about anything happy or positive while they’re drinking - breakups, not being able to find job, the pressure of exams, etc etc. 😕

Her comment on her suicidal patient was terrible (among others terrible comments). I agree with you, I don't find…
I felt this too..and I am wondering if she was always this ineffective/inefficient OR if it’s a result of her familiarity with JW that makes her apathetic to his plight. It is mentioned that he’s been seeing her since JW was in high school. It is clear that their relationship is kinda transactional at this point - he comes for the meds and she keeps him out of some sense of obligation (maybe yet another person doing this for the sake of his father’s patronage). Either ways he definitely needs a different therapist :(

I think they purposely did not show JW in the hospital. The lack of these scenes left me feeling even more frustrated…
There’s an added speculation on Twitter that TaeHyun has unrequited feelings for JW :-) The way he’s pushing that girl onto JW - like he wants JW to suffer in a relationship that he knows is doomed..

Yeah... I was happy about that until our MC and his bestie were very rude to and dismissive of the guy who presented…
Could it be to show JH’s human side? That he isn’t without flaws of his own even though this *could* be attributed to his sheltered upbringing? And Ae Ri, for all her Seoul-ness, did mention that she’d gone to an all girls school (which can be a super harsh environment ) and that JH was her first male friend. I get the feeling that they’ve both developed an arrogance that’s come from the courage of standing up for themselves and have sort of bonded over that feeling of being untouchable - and this is where all that sass comes from. And being judgemental can be mistaken for being sassy. I am wondering if this is what was intended cos I feel like if not for this scene, we would have gotten a whole lot of “Wow JiHyun is amazing!” in that episode.

I was also thinking about these 2 points - kinda diverted my mind a bit from what was actually happening in the flow of the story. Any insights would be very welcome 💜

Thank you for saying this ❤️ This is a very very valid point and also what I was trying to say (albeit quite poorly!) about JH being a good choice for JW at this time. Walking away from a loved one just because they are mentally ill is not always the ‘only’ answer. They need a lot of support and the kind of support one can give them depends largely on one’s mental health as well. The way JH was present with JW while JW was getting drunk and then taking him home and telling him those words of comfort without prying, and then doing the same when they’re at the beach tells us a lot of his mental well being. I am eager to see how he deals with JW’s distance in the coming episodes.

First half of episode 7 really threw me for a loop. But, I’m so glad Ji Hun is well and showing a lot of character…
I think they purposely did not show JW in the hospital. The lack of these scenes left me feeling even more frustrated as I kept thinking if he was actually there or not and how exactly did he react. That feeling of tension was palpable. Someone mentioned in a comment somewhere that a lot of the drama seems to be shot as if they are memories and this makes sense to me in a way that these could be JW’s disjointed memories/awareness. He doesn’t exactly remember how JH was saved - just that he is now alive and doing well.

“You attract who you are.” I love this show for showing this parallel. JW is mostly surrounded by people who keep him in the dark whereas JH has a lot of people who are with him in the light.

Taehyun seems to have a lot of wounds of his own. His constant reference to JW having it easy makes me think that TH has an equally difficult life - just that he behaves abominably compared to JW. So much of judgement and spite and sense of entitlement. I dread to think what his home feels like.

I agree with your observation about JH wanting to be the one to “heal” JW being a huge burden on him. However, I also feel like he is a good candidate for this as he seems to have come from a relatively pain-free background/childhood (with how he talks about his sister and his relationship with his mother) and that gives him the advantage of not reacting from a place of pain every time JW pushes him away. He seems to fully understand that JW has a lot of baggage and seems determined to be present to help JW with them. Again, the metaphor with the cocktail at the bar where the lady explains how it’s about balance. Yes he does get hurt but he also knows it’s nothing personal. Also, I get the feeling that having a near-death experience has given JH a heck load of courage to bulldoze his way into JW’s life and park
himself there no matter what. I wish he succeeds 🙂

I also wish for you to find a JH who stays put no matter how hard you push. ❤️💜

No filler no boring scenes, so it’s all good to me so far.. i don’t need to skip any dull scenes
Yup, for me as well there is a bit of whiplash with scenes getting merged and too much happening all at once cos there was a huge cut in the initial number of episodes apparently. I come back here afterwards to read the comments to keep up with what exactly is going on as the novel readers are always kind enough to expand on scenes that seem incomplete on screen and that sorta helps. 🙂🙂

More than the enemies to lovers thing (which would be more of Li Su Su’s pov I guess cos TTJ doesn’t know that she is supposed to be his enemy..yet), I love the idea that TTJ learns what love is/chooses to love. If you like reading, he reminds me of Kaleb in Hearts of Obsidian (one of my fav characters), who also did not have the capacity to feel any emotions and then, loves a girl who was kind to him where the rest of the world was not.

Aasaggghhhhh noooooooooooo I absolutely LOVE Shao Dian You Qin! He was the one guy who did actually say “Fuck the world, I choose the girl” which makes him amazing to me.. But I get where you’re coming from 🙂 Then again, the evil lord ML’s ‘duty’ is to destroy the world cos he thinks it owes him something and blames it for his entire misfortune etc etc so in a way, that is also a story of love vs duty lol.

yk unlike many other drama with evil main leads, TTJ is actually made "EVIL" which is done very well in my opinion,…
I see TXJ and CWN whenever he flips between TTJ/Devil
god and Ming Ye lol. I miss that drama even though it hasn’t been released hahaha

Oh wow! That is a huge deal in the larger scheme of things! So Ming Ye gets betrayed in many ways by her! I guess this will impact him during the fight with the devil god
